Hey gang!

I have been doing a lot of looking around at lanyard designs today.

I will share my spreadsheet of participants. Everyone have a look, if you signed up make sure I have you down and that I have correct information (staterooms, # of lanyards needed, etc.)

If you contacted me and I have forgotten you, please let me know!:)

If you are interested in joining up, send me a PM! I'd like to at least get us up to 50, most minimum orders are 50 anyway! ;)

If you have missed the discussion on this topic, these will be customized lanyards with a nametag/holder. They will have our cruise name and date and at minimum a plastic sleeve to hold a nametag and KTTW cards. We are considering different designs including "neck wallets" which include fabric zippered or velcro pouches. We will vote on a final design in the next month or so. I have set a tentative sign up/payment deadline of August 1. This might need to be backed up depending on the design and company we choose. We will each pay for our own lanyards and I am trying to keep cost between/below $1-$3 per lanyard.

Lanyards will be distributed at the Dis Meet, or delivered to your stateroom on Evening 1. (Or whenever I meet you first, LOL!) ;)

Here is the spreadsheet! :thumbsup2

Welcome Kirsty and family! :flower3:

I just went poking around on the DCL website (cause that's what I do on my lunch hour!) and noticed that there now seems to be lots of availability for our cruise. It's showing Cat.11, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 and 3 ($8,000 plus for one person!) as all being available.

A month ago, it would say that there was no availability if you tried to book a child in the stateroom and now it seems to be no problem.

I'm guessing lots of people might have cancelled? Or shifted their cruise to another date?

Just throwing it out there, because I thought someone on here was looking to add their MIL to their reservation, but there was no availability (Judy, was that you?)

I've never seen them quote the price for a category 3....is this a new thing by DCL?:)

Wow, they did start quoting "Concierge with Verandah". That's interesting and it certainly let me see what I bargain I got on my Cat. 9!

When I first went to book this cruise about 45 days ago, there was no availablility at all online. I had to call and they had to clear their cache in order to open up some rooms.

Thanks for doing this!

Yep, it's new! Just within the last week or so, a new tab appeared for Cat. 3 It will pop up with the other category tabs if there is one available on the cruise you are looking at.

Very interesting to see exactly how expensive it really is!

We always book the day the rates are released since historically DCL rarely if ever reduces their rates as you get closer to the sail date so don't think you're crazy. In the last month I have received several newsletters from my TA stating how much the 2011 rates have increased based on demand, but we booked the Royal Suite last November so we're good.

In particular, the Aug 16, 2011 (last 5 day of the year) sailing which we are on has been very popular. Apparently there are no staterooms below verandah level available. We have been trying to get some friends of ours to book, but they can't seem to commit that far in advance. If they do finally book it will just cost them a whole lot more which is silly.

Which sailing did you choose?

Hi,
We will be sailing on the Dream 8/16 too!!!! Looks like it will be a full ship.

We couldn't do a summer trip on the Dream as we are doing one of the Alaska sailings out of Vancouver July 2011. It is the pits that DH only gets so many paid holidays per year and we only have so much income

I agree with Pudo, booking on the date that the cruises are released will almost certainly guarantee you the best pricing. And honestly, with Disney's cancellation/transfer of reservation policy, it just makes sense to us to get our deposits in and if we have to change, then we change.

We booked our Alaska cruise and our 5 night Dream cruise for 12/29/2011...it will be the first New Years celebration on the Dream... the day they came out. I was able to get adjoining rooms for the 4 of us on the Dream (and my sister and niece across the hall) and a verhanda on the Wonder Alaska cruise.

I love it when the new cruises are announced and have no problem booking what I think I can do as I don't think I will ever get a better price.

Hi Linda,

wow, sounds great. Alaska and the Dream!!! You will be having a great New Years celebration. I had book the Alaska Cruise while on board in November and then the day the Dream bookings were available I transferred the ressie over. We only go on 1 cruise per year and I wanted to be where it's warm. I always takea room with a verandah, it's really worth it. The week of 8/16 was way less than the other Summer dates, I believe it's because it's prime Hurricane season. I'll keep my fingers crossed on the weather. pirate:

Just Registered DS6 for swimming lessons for this summer. He's comfortable in the water, but NOT deep water. He loves playing in the water but can't swim. I wan't him totally ok in shallow AND deep for our Captian Marvin's Tour. So here's to hoping that this summer he an accomplish Swimming, oh and learning to ride a bike without training wheels! :)

Still very interested in the lanyards, I see you don't have the names of the rest of my family: Missy (DW), Catherine (DD 17), Sarah (DD 6). Ages are time of sailing.

BTW... nice job on the spreadsheet!

Hi,
We will be sailing on the Dream 8/16 too!!!! Looks like it will be a full ship.

Cool! I thought the last 5 day cruise of the year would be popular. The cruise thread is very busy and has a lot of veteran cruisers that typically sail in August.

We try not to talk about the Dream cruise too much since the little one sometimes gets confused. She thinks that over Halloween she will get to go on the Aqua Duck and see Pixie Hollow. It can be little hard to explain we won't be on that ship yet. ;)

So we finally hit our 7 month window and booked our DVC resorts. We wanted to do 2 days at BLT and then 2 days BCV after the cruise, but BCV was booked so we chose WVL and wait-listed BCV. No big deal either way, but we haven't stayed at BCV yet.

Our plans our now to fly down on the 28th and stay at BLT, take the DCL bus to port, 7 day cruise, return to WDW via car service (bus takes too long) and then the 6th and 7th at a DVC resort (yet to be determined) flying home on the 8th.

All that is left is Palo and excursions. :cool1:

So MnSsHp should be that Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Thrusday there is EMH morning at the MK. You think the party that night will be crowded b/c of the EMH? I know its a separate ticket but still...

Thanks for doing this!

Oh, my pleasure! :)

We loved having them on our last cruise! So many people asked us where we got them and how they could get one! ;)

Thanks Jeff! :) I have updated the spreadsheet! (I knew you had a Sarah too!)

Oh, and with new additions last night and today we have reached the magic number of 50!

Not sure if EMH will affect it (I do think EMH overall tends to up the cowd count in that particular park for the day but not sure how many will still be around that late...a few diehards I'm sure;)) I do think it will be busy that night. Not as bad as Friday though. We plan on going Thursday too so we'll brave the masses with you!!! :goodvibes

MNSSHP is on Thursday? Hmmmm we were going to use our Give a Day Get A Day Park tickets for MK on the Thursday, but I don't want to be kicked out of the park early because we don't have the Party tickets. Perhaps we won't do MK,,,,,, ORrrrr, does anyone know if we can pay to have the vouchers upgraded to a park hopper?

Yes you can. You have to go inside the park first. Then can upgrade the ticket l8ke it is a regular MYW ticket. We are using ours the following day. Since t&e park closes on Friday at 7 its plenty of time to get over to the cape and get some rest.

I was just thinking over the past couple of days, about you, wondering if you had had your baby (was in the store and saw all these Disney Baby outfits, and that made me think of you). How awesome, and to think that little guy will be going on his VERY FIRST CRUISE in just a little over 6 months..... WOW.
Enjoy these first days, weeks months ect.... as I'm sure you are well aware of how quickly they go by.

Congratulations
Judy
