My daughter told her Nana yesterday that she thought we were going to take her on the Disney Cruise for her birthday. Her birthday is next month.

We are not, of course. Too soon to our prior cruise. Plus, we are going on this one with all of you! Unbeknownst to her still, though. ;)

We are taking her to Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos for the weekend of her birthday. I think possibly I have the only kid in the world who would be disappointed by this. I think I have spoiled this kid, I really do. :)

Two of my daycare children are going to Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls for Spring Break (ours is in March). I'd never heard of it before till "K" mentioned it to me. She made it sound so exciting, so we looked it up on the internet and WOW, yes, kids would love that place.
Now your the second person thats mentioned it! LOL
My DS6 thinks we are taking him to WDW for his birthday this summer (smack dab in the middle of July), but that is NOT going to happen! Funny how they come up with these ideas :)

We have been to both of those Great Wolf Lodges- Poconos & Niagara Falls. Lots and LOTS of fun! I am sure you will have a ball- even if it is NOT DCL!:goodvibes

:hug:Anyone else snowed in and very anxious for the sun and warmth of the Caribbean??? It has been snowing since late last night (and only 8" so far) :hug:and now the lake effect snow has begun. Yuck. So ready........

I hope everyone is OK, that is not a nice way to wake up especially when you are just concerned with the snow.

We have been snowed in since Friday Night and more is coming down. :sad2: The kids haven't been to school since Thursday and there is no end in sight right now. There just isn't any place to shovel more snow to. The roads are plowed to 1 1/2 lanes so driving with oncoming traffic is challenging and actually the base has closed the roads and is discouraging driving which is fine by me, but we had to make a food run. :rotfl: The house is nice and clean, we've been doing :laundy: as fast as the kids wear it. If we keep our power through this storm I'll be :) because as soon as it goes down is when the kids want to sit and :happytv:

I'm VERY ready for our cruise, the sun, the beach, the food & of course meeting new friends.

Too bad we cannot get your snow (and ours) to Vancouver! My kids were hoping for a snow day today but no such luck. Now their new thing is to do a 2 hour delayed start and even that did not happen. Good luck with your snow and keeping the kids occupied at home.

We were lucky to have a snow day today- they even let us know last night, which was SO GREAT, no 5 am phone call!

Beachbumppirates, how long are you at the Beach club in April? I arrive on April 30th with my girlfriends- would love to meet if you're still there!

That is just AWFUL!! Much too much snow. It's so strange this year how south of us got hit so much more this year- we have only had a little bit of snow up until today.

Hang in there- I hope you don't get too much from this storm!

We are there until May 2. Loving the idea of a girls trip to Dis. The best we get around here is Lake Geneva, WI or downtown Chicago. Meeting for a drink sounds great! Enjoy your snow day!!:woohoo:

School for both kids cancelled today, so no work for me. Although I wouldn't have wanted to go anyway, even if they had closed my office. Even if I could have gotten there o.k., I would be worried about the commute home later.

I also am longing for sunshine and warm weather. I swear the sky has been grey here for over a month!

Wonderful!! I will be there with 3 other Dissers (karajeboo and Camster0307 and a woman named Pam, don't know her screenname because she doesn't post on my thread) and 2 other girlfriends (who are on the DIS but don't post too much). And there are a TON of other DIS peeps there at that time that we are hooking up with- it's really, really fun, we did it last year (DISmoms TR). We'll have to exchange cell phones before the date! :goodvibes

I just read your pre-TR and think you are my kind of girl!!! :drinking1
We will have to meet up in April!!

Found on page two and that will not do. So here is a bump to take us back to the front.

A lot of us on the east coast, in particular NJ, have been digging themselves out of some serious snow. Brick, NJ towards the Jersey Shore got 18" yesterday, we got about 12 - 14 in North Brunswick so not a lot of time to "catch up" on the DIS boards. Most of us are going back to school and work for the first time in 3 days. Philly area schools will be off again tomorrow.

We are in Northern VA, just south of DC. The kids have been out of school since last friday due to the snow & they have tomorrow off again. They have finally opened the roads on the Army base, but they are still pretty icy and very narrow. :scared: We got about 28 inches from the first storm and this last one only dumped another 10 on us. I'm so ready for life to return to normal. I just checked the forecast & it looks like snow again next week, but hopefully it will just be a dusting because there isn't any place to pile it. I've had to shovel a walkway for the dog in the backyard & it looks like a tunnel. The poor thing looks at me like I'm crazy for sending him out there.
Spring can't get here fast enough!

SO I had this dream that I was on a white Sandy beach. Its warm and the rays of the Sun are beating down across the Gulf. I could Run my feet in the rough, but silky sand.... then I realized... I m standing in not so white sand and its about 32F.... I need my vacation.

I wouldn't mind our cold weather so much IF we had some good snow! We have snow on the ground, but only where there is no pavement. And that snow is now quite dirty, haven't seen a new snowfall in weeks! And the snow that has fallen previously has never been the kind the kids can made snowmen or anything else out of. I WISH WE COULD HAVE SOME OF YOUR SNOW!
Two years ago, we had SO much snow, our lamp posts in the driveway were covered, snow reached almost all the way up the the street name sign. THAT was a fabulous winter (of course I work from home, so don't have to drive anywhere in that, lol). The kids love their snow days (even though we live a two minute walk from their school). But we just haven't had that kind of snowfall since, and for Ottawa, thats a bit unusual. Normally we have what you in the mid Atlantic and Northern? states have gotten. It does make for good skiiing.
