I've been anxiously checking airline prices also. So, far the day we want to fly out is listed with JetBlue for $114. Their prices for November 6th and after aren't up yet. $114 isn't awful, but I am used to getting one way airfare from as low as $79. I think the most I have paid is about $90.

I am going to wait and see when November opens up all over before making any decisions. JetBlue is nice, but we prefer Southwest because the airport they fly out of is so close to our house and the long term parking there is only a short walk from baggage claim.

My son (age 3 1/2) has been scooping up all the spare change he can find anywhere and dumping it into a large plastic bottle in my room, saying he found it for "vacation". I think the Disney cruise we took in October really had an affect on him!

If you don't mind could you send some warm Florida sunshine our way?:beach:

LOL we don't have much to give right now! It's been kind of yucky the last few days. Cloudy. The weekend was cool but it's already back to warm again.

Have fun on your trip Lois (& Janet!):thumbsup2

I'm working a short week this week (4 nights) so we have the full weekend in Orlando (Savannah has a dance convention & the Disapalooza-TSMM party on Saturday so that's nice!) Of course I have to work 6 next week to make up for it.... Lynn did you decide to go?

Just did more Christmas shopping on line today. Got DH and DS's Hockey tickets to see The SENS vs the New Jersey Devils, in January. I know they will LOVE those! It's a good feeling to be almost done the shopping. Also paid 1/3 of our Cruise off!
Seeing the cheap flights some of you have mentioned above, I'm thinking I'd rather fly down if we can also get cheap tickets. (were planning on driving again, but 24 hours, just is not appealing to me the 2nd time around). We'd fly out of SYR though. I've tried using Expedia, but it won't allow me to key in our return date yet. Their site will only show dates up to Nov. 1st or 2nd right now. errgghhh. I figure if I can fly the 4 of us for under $1000.00, then it's worth it! From Ottawa here it would cost $2000.00 plus!

We fly out of Buffalo - was excited to see Jetblue opened reservations until Oct 31st. We booked direct from BUF to MCO on Friday Oct 29th for $84 each = $473 One Way for 5! Twenty-four hours later, the flight went up $10 each! What a deal!

We also like Southwest, and are waiting to book our return flight with them, as soon as they are released - I would suspect this would happen sometime in mid-April (based on last year's release dates). We are also planning on coming back on Sunday!

Just catching up......
Been busy with the doing Holiday stuff.

Lex.......he does not live in PA he drives in from (embarasing, but i have to guess at the name of the city) is it Weirton WV?
IT must be close i think it takes him like 20 minutes to drive.
IT was way cheaper than living in PIT.

He went to College at WVU.

NO UNFORTUANTLEY WE ARE NOT GOING TO THE DISAPALOOZA,,,,i am sticking to my save all our money plan until summer time when DH and i go on our annual NO KIDS trip which i dont know what that is yet.

IT was hard not to go I wanted to do that really badly for my Bday but we are going to go to have dinner at home with friends than go to 48 KEYS....which is a piano bar like on the BOARDWALk at Disney so i will just pretend i am there.

WEll back to the Holiday stuff....need to finish my photo album on Kodak website today.

Wow, I just checked Jet Blue prices out of Rochester to MCO (that one was cheaper than SYR and Buffalo) and found a flight out on Friday the 29th for a total of $398.00 for ALL 4 of us inclusive. That sounds great, but it's only one way. As I've never booked a flight before in my life before, is this really a great price? What are the chances of waiting till the return date opens and book a round trip? I don't want to wait too long if this is a great price.

UPDATE: I just found return trip prices out of ROC for 4 people for our dates (leaving the 29th and returning Nov. 6th) for a total of $753.60 (taxes and fees included). Hmmmm this sounds pretty good to me. It does mean a 5 hour drive the night before our flight, and hopefully ROC has park and fly. Trying to get hold of DH so I can make a decision. This price means flying on United and Delta. Good Arilines? (Pretty sure united is, but I've never heard of Delta)

It's too bad I won't see you there, we almost didn't GET to go since I procrastinated signing up then one day I logged in and the big banner was gone, went to the sign up page and regstrations were closed! (It was only open for like 10 days or something like that)..I was bummed but I sent an email to Tracy, which she forwarded to John and they literally stopped the presses for me and let me sign us up! We are looking forward to it, and getting to finish up our Christmas shopping in DTD (hopefully :rolleyes1..don't think I had mentioned it to Ron yet)

Anyway your birthday plans sound great, I know you will have fun! Plus you are sticking to saving your money- maybe you guys will go on a cruise this summer!!! :goodvibes

All I can say re: flying is thank goodness we don't have to fly down before a cruise. I don't know how ya'll do it...I'd be a basket case without my 10 pcs of luggage! :rotfl2:

I think we are going to do a cruise......
I am really hoping to watch the Prices of the Oasis of the SEA fall and i go on vacationstogo website daily if they fall we are going to do that.

FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Oh yeah they are dropping too, we priced out September '10 and it was about $4K (compared to the $8K it would have been in January)...pretty reasonable IMO (that was for 5 of us in a family balcony). Sounds like a great plan!

We're off to O-town, hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

WOW.....The Winter Holidays must have all of us busy busy busy.....

we have been on this same page for some time now

We had a BLAST last night...

we went to 88 keys......which is a piano bar like the one on the boardwalk at Disney...

but i definitley did not want to work today.

....I thought we could use a little holiday humor.:goodvibes

I push paper for a living at a hotel. One afternoon, as I say my usual "hellos" to people passing by, I saw a sight that totally floored me.

I saw a fat man with a little round belly, rosy red cheeks and red suspenders walk on by. As I looked up a little to say my hello, I dropped my mouse and gawked for what seemed like an eternity. After a somewhat composed myself, I got up from out of my chair and went to the door, opened it and looked left.

I couldn't help it! I say in a rather quesioning mode:

"Santa?"

All I saw was his white gloved left hand as he turned ever so slightly to his left and waved at me.

I sat back down in my chair dumbfounded. A few minutes later, I heard a voice say, "Mister."

I innocently dismissed it because I couldn't see anyone.

A few minutes later, I heard a rapping up at the front desk followed again by, "Hey Mister!"

Ok....THAT got my attention. I put my mouse down and got up from my chair and went up front. I still couldn't see anyone....until I heard, "hey Mister! Down here!"

Kid you not, I came face to face with three elves! I answered their questions and away they went. I meekly stumbled to my chair and flopped into it...vowing never again to drink Dr. Pepper while on the job:laughing:.

It was only that about 30 minutes later that I realized that we were housing the NY city's Rockette's:goodvibes.

Happy (early) holiday's everyone -:hippie:

We're back and this is the first chance I've had to check the boards. We had a GREAT time and the weather was FANTASTIC! The QM2 is a beautiful ship, but there was one thing I missed from DCL. The evening activities were rather sedate as compared to DCL. On DCL, after the show, we would always go to Beat Street and either visit Rockin' Bar D or Diversions. On the Queen, there were various lounges, but mostly just music, whether piano music, a string quartet or jazz.

However, I did find a piece of Disney on the Queen and will have to post the picture later on.

This could be a possibility...
My only fear would be OF course not getting back in time.....

In a couple days when i am off and can look into itmore i will get back with you.

A well-founded fear. We learned the lesson the hard way (fortunately not really first hand). One of the islands we tendered to, a tour bus broke down and since it was a ship excursion, we waited for them and departed port an hour and a half late. Had they been on their own, they would have been swimming to catch up.

I think we are going to do a cruise......

We used vacationstogo on this cruise and would definitely use them again. I love to use their website for searching for cruises. I was looking at an Oasis of the Seas cruise for next year, although we will probably stick with this cruise, and their prices seemed pretty reasonable.

And here I thought you were keeping it down so I wouldn't have to much trouble catching up.

Hey guys, we're back..had a GREAT time!!!

Got a very nice hotel at a great price (Crowne Plaza Universal).through hotwire for $59/night, when we were checking in they were charging $285/night for the other people! Plus we got one of the nicest (and biggest) non-suite rooms. Can't beat that!!

Dance convention was fun but crazy. Savannah did not get a scholarship but of course just a handful of the hundreds (thousands? felt like it!!) there do. We saw some great talent, and she had a blast with her friends.

And of course DisaPalooza TSMM Party- WOW what a great time! The Dis put on a great party let me tell you! From the Green Army Men and Sarge escorting us back to Pixar Place to the no-wait meet and greet with Buzz & Woody to the fun friendly Disers to the all-you can eat spread of food (corndog nuggets, funnel cake and cotton candy..YUM!) to of course the non stop MIDWAY MANIA!!! :D I am proud to say I do believe I won every single round (Ron may have beat me one time)...I did not crack 200,000 mostly cause by the 4th or 5th ride my hand was cramped up in a carpal tunnel claw from pulling the string so much. WHAT a great time. We hung to the very end and walking out an empty Hollywood Blvd was nice. Can't say enough about how great it was!!!

Anyway back to the grind- busy busy busy week at work, and I have to get in gear on Christmas. Quickly. Huge. LOL! ;)

We have just spent 4 hours on the web.......
bouncing back and forth from vacations to go (mostly)
to DVC website
to disney cruiseline website

AND after all that we are leaning towards changing...................

.................Our room
From 2 down to one.

Obviously it is no secret these cruises are expensive.....
And something just wasnt setting right with me on the 2 room thing, so we can get back about $1700.

If we switch to just an inside.

I am not 100% sure yet but we are doing some heavy thinking about it.

That is more than enough to pay for all of our extras while on the cruise.

Then we can have extra $$ to do a cruise with just me and Dh this summer.

Any thoughts to help me let go of our private room and verandah on this cruise.

Sounds like everyone had some great trips!! How fabulous to go on the QM2- my friend goes with her family all the time, it sounds so luxurious!! It must be a truly beautiful ship.

And I would LOVE to hear more about Disapalooza!! WOW!! What a great rate you got at that hotel, Nenner1! If I did that, my family would end up in the broom closet probably. :rotfl:

Ok- back to work-
