First time cruiser here - is the deposit the same when you book onboard -$250/person for 7 day? Just curious. Thanks!

250 per person was a discounted deposit. I believe it is possible it is back up. I know that for the Alaska cruises it is 600.00 per person. I guess we just need to be perpared to pay the hugher amount if we want to rebook while on board. It really is the best way to get the lowest price. But it really hurts to need to pay out thousands of dollars for a vacation that far into the future.

You can book a "dummy" date and move you cruise date into the futiure keeping the on board credit and discount as long as you move it before the final payment date.

Typically the standard offer is 10%, $200 OBC, and $250pp deposit, but occasionally they change it to something more inticing. When we booked the special Eastern that included San Juan DCL offered a $400 OBC. In the recent past a promotion might included a 50% deposit so it $125pp instead of $250.

Side note: it surprised me when DCL requested $600pp for a standard room and $800pp for concierge.

We only paid $375 for a deposit when we booked (for 3 people), during the half-price deposit promo. I think I only got $50 OBC for booking with my Disney Visa though. I'm hoping they'll either do some more OBCs or make kids free and I can rebook :)

We just booked last week on board. Can wait to get to know everyone. Do we have any list going for Fish Extenders yet?

Traveling is:

My dd has been asking if there is a Kids Meet thread started for our group yet, for the kids to get to know each other online, does anyone know if someone started one, or is anyone else interested?

I see there is no one in charge of the FE yet...I'll volunteer! Not sure who picks the leader, but I'd be glad to take it or help whomever does.

We are planning on Disney for Christmas and a Med (non DCL) for that spring.

No decision has been made on the t-shirts. It was pointed out that it may be difficult to get them made from a supplier due to the copyright problem with the disney characters and logo. I think we will probably make our own

Hi lsjones and welcome:thumbsup2

My daughter Adriane (who will be 12 when we cruise) actually started a kid's thread awhile back, but it is probably is on page 3 or 4, since at the time no one else joined in at the time. I will try to find it and bump it up to the first page. She will be happy to have others join the thread as she enjoys meeting others before the cruise too.

Also, thanks also for offering to help set up the FE exchange. We really enjoy playing it. It is so much fun for the kids, as well as adults :)

We were excitied about Alaska, but the Vancouver round-trip wasn't what we had in mind so we passed and are focusing on booking the Dream.

We really wanted to book at least a 7 day in 2011 and are hopeful that the Dream may do a couple of 7 day cruises considering the Magic and Wonder will both be gone from PC, but the "word on the street" is that won't happen only 3, 4, and 5 day cruises.

Either way, we are booking the Dream in probably late August of 2011

We aren't sure yet, it depends on how much we like RCCL. Assuming we will, we plan on alternating years for RCCL and DCL. So after the Magic in 2010, we plan on sailing the new monster ships- the Oasis and/or Allure of the Seas in 2011. Then back to DCL to try out the Dream (hopefully the prices will have leveled off by then~I'm sure they will be very high for awhile when she first sets sail.) In 2013 I am hoping for a trip to the west coast for Disneyland..maybe a cruise on the Wonder too...:rolleyes1

Well we have two designs, this one on the first page that Janice did:

And this one that I threw together:

halloweencruiselogo.jpg

The reason I originally decided to make one too is b/c I wanted a square icon to fit in my signature. But I did try to keep my design similar by using the same Mickey so we can use them both! :thumbsup2 Both are large enough for T-Shirt printing. The first one is 13 inches by 3 inches and the second (the one I made) is 14 inches by 12 inches.

I do have some minor touchups I want to do to my design...the beveling brought out a few boo-boos that are visible against the white (Photobucket put the white background there- I made it with a transparent background) so I need to correct that (and I will probably adjust the bevels a tad). Plus I am going to make an alternate design with white typeface that can be used on a dark or colored shirt for those who choose to do so. So we have plenty of options as far as that goes! My font program (Digital Juice) is on my other computer though which is at Best Buy right now getting fixed <<again>> so it will be a couple of weeks or so before I can get to that.

Great Kelsey will be happy to see it! Where are you in WI? We are in Kenosha!

For those of you who are on Facebook, I created a "Group" page for the cruise. It is a closed group which means I will have to approve all requests to join. That way I can be sure it is exclusive to those of us cruising and a "safe" place to exchange information pertaining to cruise activities and events. Our group page will be family friendly and appropriate for all ages.

When you request admission to the group or if you friend me up be sure to give me your DIS username. :) (I won't be able to approve anyone I can't verify is involved with our cruise meet!) I don't have much on there yet, but it will grow as the group does and be a great resource for information.

If you are new to Facebook, give it a try. It is free to join and is a fun way to keep in touch and share information about upcoming events before the cruise and a wonderful and easy way to share pictures and video, etc. after the cruise.

Hopefully this link works... The Not So Scary Halloween Cruise FB Group

(If the link does not work just try searching by our cruise name and/or date...or search me "nenner1").

Hope to see some of you there! :goodvibes

** And don't forget to include your username!***:thumbsup2\

I requsted to join the group, but it did not give me an option to add my name or anything. My FB is Leslie Jones.

I think this is a great idea! My wife and step-daughter don't find the Disboards that interesting, but they both have Facebook accounts this will be a great way to get them involved. Thanks.

BTW...You should have a request from Jeff Langdon
