what do you mean "release them" you can book whatever cat you want now . . . :confused3

If I had to venture a guess I would say wjcsmd means they have a GTY 12 and want to know when the actual stateroom numbers will be released.

Typically DCL releases around two to three weeks prior to sailing so my guess would be in early October 2010.

Update: I obviously guessed wrong; I called DCL and they said that Inventory Control handles the release of staterooms so there is no way to know.

Your best bet is to waitlist a Cat 12 which you probably already did. I would also recommend using a TA since some are very good at getting what they need for their clients.

Hi,
We booked this trip while hiding from the craziness that was Northern Virginia & DC during the inaguration on a 4 nighter in January.

Our group will hopefully grow, but as it stands now it is myself, Sheri, DH Cory, DD Samantha ( 9 ) , DD Jacquelyn ( 6 ) & DS Marcus ( 3 )
My Mother and her DH Scott
My DSis Diane, her DH Phil, DD Emily ( 9 ) & DD Claire ( 6 )
and Cory’s Dad & his DGF
We will be celebrating Jacquelyn’s 7th Birthday!

This will be my family's third cruise, but our first 7 nighter & I couldn't be more excited unless of course they decide to stop at Castaway Cay twice!

Welcome aboard!

Where in Northern VA? I have family in Fairfax and my daughter goes to American University (Go Eagles!) and lives in Bethesda.

Howdy all!

We are currently booked on this one, and unless things change will be going, but its a long way off, jobs, economy, kids moving up in school....

So we are in the "most likely" category.

Clearly I'm typing too late at night as I looked at the roll call and started counting all the "Jersey" families before I said "Duh!" as we are also booked largely because it is "Jersey week."

Glad to see this thread is moving at a nice pace (not like the speed race my last cruise thread was running).

Oh, probably should mention, will be me, DW (both in 40s), DS 11 now, 13 then (yikes!) and DS 9 now, 11 then.

I didn't realize it was Jersey week. That's it, I'm changing my date. To be stuck with all those New Jerseyites. I hope their driving habits don't affect the captain :lmao:

We will be joining barring any unforseen problems. It is myself and my DP, Janet. We will be doing a Back 2 Back. So we are doing the 10/23 Eastern as well. I look forward to chatting with every over the next year and half. Lois

I can't even tell you how jealous I am!!
Have you done this before? Will you have the same stateroom? Where do you go in between the two cruises? You get to stay on the ship, right?

Welcome Aboard!

Thank you all for the welcome aboard!!! To answer some questions yes we did a B2B last fall. When we moved our dummy dates to these dates it was between 10/16 and 10/30. We wanted to do 10/23 so we found a stateroom on that cruise and then we found out which of the western dates had the same room available. So it is the 10/30. We have 2065 for both weeks.

We will not need to pack or unpack between the two weeks. We will get up and begin our laundry and then eat breakfast. Transfer the loads to the dryer and then go through customs and back up to the port terminal. We will be off the ship for about 45 min to an hour. Then we will be the first cruisers allowed back on the ship. Nothing is open but we can have access to our room and can watch everything from on deck.

So has anyone thought about what might be going on at Key West since it is Halloween the day we stop there? Might be a great time to visit!

Talk more later, Lois

Its not a particularly "Disney" kind of event Fantasy Fest

So for those with kids will need to be careful with what they plan to do that day. Huh?

Saturday, October 31
DUVAL STREET PROMENADE
Sassy entertainers, enticing food and spirited libations tempt costumed merrymakers as they party from the Gulf to the Atlantic; Noon - 10:30 pm; FREE

CAPTAIN MORGAN FANTASY FEST PARADE
Join 70,000 exuberant partygoers as this year's parade rolls down Duval Street. Featuring glittering floats, marching bands and dancing groups, it doesn't get any wilder than this! Parade route includes Whitehead, Front and Duval Streets; 7 pm; www.captainmorgan.com; FREE

Sounds like Duval Street might be just a little bit racey!! For the Adults might be fun. Lois

The all aboard time is 7:30 (as of now) so the night event won't be much of an issue.

Hey Lois!!!! WE are on this one as well.

DH, Elliott and I will probably be at a beach somewhere in Key West so that DH and I can renew our wedding vows. 10 years will have passed 10 days before so we thought it would be a good time. Not to mention all the 'stuff' that has happened in those 10 years.

Our plan is to renew our vows then head back on board so that Elliott can play and we can relax :thumbsup2

A couple of couples had vow renewals by Disney on our Panama Canal cruise, we went to one on board and saw from a distance the one at CC.

They were both very nice.

So there is someone we know on board. Congratulation on 10 years. A vow renewal sounds like a great way to spend the day. Lois

I am guessing that the party on Duval street will begin way before 7:30PM. Parents with yopung kids might want to be prepared to answer some questions. I know I have heard it can be bad on any old day and i suspect Halloween will be one big party. I can't wait to see but I am not traveling with young kids or in fact any kids this trip. Lois

I imagine the Disney offshore excursions will be popular with the families with young kids
