Hi Linda! Sorry if I missed your information - but did you post you will be joining us on this cruise? I saw a pgh reference and was pretty sure I didn't list anyone from there on our roll call (my mom is from Pgh - so it stood out to me).

We did the Halloween Cruise in 2008 and had a wonderful time! Disney does organise Trick-or-Treating (you are giving a list to follow to go get treats at different stations around the ship) and they also host a party and some various contests. It was a lot of fun! Plus - the dis-group normally has thier own event planned.

Please re-post your information if I need to post it on our roll-call - thanks!

Hi Janice,:wave2:

My DH (Mark) and I (Linda) will be lucky enough to sail with all of you. We live in Pittsburgh PA. What part of Pittsburgh is your mom from? This will be our 4th Disney Cruise. I look forward to planning this and watching our numbers grow. Thanks for the info about holiday events.

I usually say my mother is from Fox Chapel, but she has corrected me so many times telling me that her family moved there when she was in high school and doesn't consider that where she grew up - so I will have to ask her where she was from (it was up on a very steep hill - does that help? hahahaha)

My grandfather started a company called "Coco Brothers Inc" which is apparently still going strong in Allison Park - it is now run by my cousin - their big claim to fame (in my eyes) was that they built all the rest stops on the PA turnpike :)

One of my cousins owns "Coco Trucking" which is in Springdale

So, do you know any Cocos? :)

I will get you added (along with amyup) to our role call - hopefully - this week!

Happy Ground Hog Day everyone!

We've been promising the kids that we'd go in 2010- I've been doing my research and this is the cruise I'm going to book! (I think I'll book by the end of February.)

DH and I first cruised with DCL in July 2000 on our honeymoon, on that trip we decided to do it again to celebrate the "bigger" anniversaries... but we missed #5. Planned on going in July, but I'm so excited about a 7 day and think that the Halloween one will be awesome. We'll be celebrating (belated, but still celebrating!) our 10 yr anniversary and I'll have a birthday on the ship.

DS Jake will be 7 and DD Abbie will be 4. Jake is really excited about the trip and doesn't even care about the couple of days that I'm planning at WDW before we head out to sea. He'll be even more excited to find out that he won't miss out on trick-or-treating!

DMIL is a DVC member and we've booked past WDW trips through her membership. Any advantage to booking DCL through DVC?

I'm so glad I looked for this thread and found you all. I've been a lurker on these boards for ages, but finally registered today.

Welcome to the cruise and the DIS! Your kids should really enjoy this cruise, especially because it is during Halloween.

I dont know about advantages of booking using DVC points. Some people feel (myself included) that it is better to rent the points and pay cash for te cruise. If you convert the points used for a cruise to a dollar value of $10/pp, you will find that it is costing you more that way.

So excited to have found this thread. We've never been on a Disney cruise (or any cruise for that matter). My friend and I have just booked this cruise for our families and are SO excited. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

My twin girls will be 12 by the time we cruise. Seems so far away as they're only 10 now. My friend also has 2 children, her daughter will be 9 and her son will be 11. Her son has severe peanut and egg allergies so this is the cruise line she feels most comfortable with (even though she is still very nervous about it - and I don't blame her). So we have some research to do on that front before the cruise as well.

Being the planner I am, I have so much research I have to (want to) do. Can't even think about it, though, until we return from our WDW trip this coming April. One trip at a time!!! :rolleyes1

Looking forward to getting to know everyone here - and then on the trip itself!!! :cool2:

Hi Jacki! Glad to see you made it over! My DS9 will also be 11 on the cruise- he's happy to hear there's already one boy his age in DQ!

Welcome aboard Jacki!
Your info has been added to our roll call!
Please remind us again about that "peanut" allergy if we do a "dis trick-or-treat" or better yet - perhaps YOU should host that . . .
:thumbsup2

Well, I'm certainly willing to help - but not sure about hosting...since I have no idea what I'm doing!!! :scared1: LOL!

We're in! We just booked today or I should say moved our reservation.

There are four of us staying in 8532; we have main dining. My wife and step daughter (16) have been on 8 DCL cruises, I have been on 5 and my little girl (5) has been on 4 cruises.

Our last cruise was the 15 day repo that brought the Magic home in August. While on that cruise we booked a dummy date in the hopes to sail again in the summer of 2010.

We normally sail in July or August, but have been on a Turkey Day cruise. My step daughter's birthday is in November so for her 13th birthday we took her on a 7 Day Western Double Dip. My girls really love Halloween and the cruise is over Jersey Week so this cruise seems to work well for all.

We will be going to WDW for a couple of days before the cruise. We are very excited about the Mickey Not So Scary Halloween party on land and sea. Trick or Treating on the Magic would be cool!!

BTW...I am a software developer, web applications being my forte so if you want to build a website I can definitely help out.

Look forward to meeting you and the family!!!

Hi! I'm going to WDW May 16th-20th- there's going to be a LOT of Dissers there then! Just wanted to mention it, in case anyone here will be down at the same time! We've got a big meet in Epcot on May 17th at 3pm in France.:dance3:

Ellen

We are DVC members and typically vacation in July or August. Our next Disney trip is August 9th - 19th. A couple of those days will be spent at Universal and Aquatica, but mostly at the WL.

Waiting until next October to cruise is way too long, it would be nice to sneak in a quick 4 day Wonder cruise, but I doubt that will happen.

so you were all waiting for me to ask for chatter? ill have to keep that in mind! :thumbsup2
