OK, I admit, I am sooo behind here! I have a couple of questions:

1. can someone tell me the different levels of Castaway Club and how many cruises you need to be in the level?:confused3

2. When do we need to be in on the TOT? and when you do you need the $$?

3. Is Captain Marvin's excursion good for a 9 year old?

Thanks:worship: I would be lost without you!

Kristen

I can answer the first two
#1
First Disney Cruise: 8/16/2010
Silver - You have taken 1 to 4 Disney Cruises: 8/1/2010
Gold - You have taken 5 to 9 Disney Cruises: 7/17/2010
Platinum - You have taken 10+ Disney Cruises: 7/3/2010

#2 The date for Fish Extenders is 8/29 but I don't think a date was chosen for TOT - I also don't think that the amount of money or who to send it to has been decided

#3 Hopefully Jen will answer this (as well as #2) - she posted her pictures - her kids are 2, 9 & 11

I think Captain Marvins would be great for a 9 year old, especially the sting ray city part of it! I have a 6 year old who is really excited about going there, but he thinks he'll be going when he's 8, not 7 (this is a surprise trip for our kids)

Nope, not yet. I'm hoping we don't have to exchange money for ToT. I don't mind buying candy and we drive so it isn't like we have to worry about airlines/baggage restrictions/melting chocolate/etc. (might have to worry about me eating the chocolate LOL! ;) Leslie and Ellen and I haven't discussed it in depth yet. I'm just looking at it as I'll buy as much candy as I usually do for Halloween (or maybe a few extra bags ) and really it should be enough. Might get some trinkets too- but who knows. I don't want to go way overboard on it b/c we all still have to get this stuff home. I know we didn't eat any of the candy we got in our FE last time cause we were always so full from all the food onboard. So we have to keep that in mind. But that's what I was thinking anyway. I never did hear back from Lynn about the stuff she already has.

Oh yes, I think a 9 y/o will really enjoy it! :thumbsup2 My DD is 9 (in 2 weeks), and we just did a snorkeling trip similar to Capt. Marvins (but no rays) on St. Maarten a few weeks ago- loved it!!! And of course both of my kids loved Captain Marvin's in 2008. My DD was a little scared of the rays at first - they are BIG- but I just carried her in the water and after seeing everone interact with them and all, she wasn't scared anymore and was snorkeling around on her own. I totally think it will help having other kids around of the same age- or just other kids around period)- they will have fun on the boat together!! Hope that helps you decide!

Oh and just to let everyone know my photobucket bandwidth is exceeded for the rest of Feb. so any links to pics and designs, etc. I have posted will not work until March 3. Hope that doesn't cause any inconvenience. My old signature with the photobucket link will be back then too. Sorry about that!

Since we are driving as well, I'll bring a box from Costco of those mini chocolate bars (Canadian Kind :):) ) for the TOT. There's usually around 100 if not more pieces in those boxes. I can pick up Halloween pencils too from the dollar store (they come in packs of 8 or 10). I think between a handful of us or less, we can have the TOT treats covered without having to exchange money (though I don't mind that either if thats preferable). ;)

We're flying so our luggage space will be limited. That said, our local craft store was having a big sale on pirate stickers so I bought five huge canisters (they were $2.99 instead of $7.99 apiece). I can put them in little bags to give out to all the kids. It would be a non-candy "crafty" treat -- let me know if that appeals!

I too will find something to put in. Once we have a final count, I will get working on it. I usually UPS a box with the FE gifts to the cabin so, I will stick these in the box as well.

Is it possible to send a box to the ship, even if we don't have an assigned stateroom? We are in GTY status. Does anyone know if we find out before getting on the ship what our room number is? Or do we have to wait and find out when we check in?

Thanks for the replies!!! :cool1: You folks are awesome!!!
I am going to chat with the family we are traveling with and book Captain Marvins ASAP!!

Thanks again!:thumbsup2

If you want to join our group for Captain Marvins, then in the comment section on the reservation page at their web site, Just request your reservation to be linked to "Judy Baggott". Let me know if you do this and how many you are reserving for as we are keeping track of numbers that are part of this Dis Excursion. Wouldn't it be a hoot if we end up have TWO boats just for our group? lol

I am not sure - but I think you will get your room assignment early enough to then send your box to that room - but - maybe someone else knows first hand

You should know before you arrive at the port. The one time we were GTY we ended up having to change our res. & get two rooms so I can't say "in my experience..." but from following the meet threads I've been on, assigning of GTY rooms tends to happen about 30 days out. So you may certainly know in enough time to get the box sent. There are a sprinkling of people who get assigned later, though so there is a chance you would not have time for the box to arrive.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if we end up have TWO boats just for our group? lol

That's hilarious! It could happen! ;)

I'm sure you can still send a box to the ship even if you don't have an assigned cabin number. Maybe you could call Disney and ask them. It really has worked out great, I did it twice, shipped the package the week of the cruise via UPS. I send down the FE gifts, sunblock. Pirate costumes all in a box.

Hello :wave2:

We just signed up to be on this cruise! We are so excited. Not only to be cruising but to be cruising with friends:banana: Leslie, Mary, Kelsey, Sarah & Scott!

It was difficult to get this cruising date as the website showed this cruise as sold out. That's also what they told me when I called this morning. However, a supervisor was able to clear the "holding" cache I guess and freed up a few rooms. We are a Cat 9, GTY, late seating...but mightly glad to be confirmed on this cruise.

I am Linda and travelling with me will be my DH Mike, our DD Michelle (14 at cruise time) and our DD Laura (9 at cruise time). We will be onboard for our 27th wedding anniversary also.

I look forward to chatting with all of you, catching up with the posts, joining the FE, finding out more about TOT and discussing Captain Marvin with our skittish 9 year old...and I am sure that there are a lot of other things for us to catch up on.

Anyway, we're booked! We are excited! And we are ready for a new adventure :goodvibes

:dance3: Yeah!! We are soooooo glad you are all joining this cruise Linda!!! :cool1: The girls are thrilled!

**FE Exchange Update**

Added two more families (8 more people) to our exchange. Bringing our totals to 36 kids (and 1 infant) and 43 adults!

ETA: 22 cabins!!

The girls are over the moon! Little Laura sat down tonight to go through the kids thread. I'm gonna have to get her a disboard name.

Did you sign us up for the FE? I not, please do. Don't want to miss out on the FE! :rotfl:

This is going to be fun.

Hey, this is going to be fun! Welcome!

I have two children, my son will be 4 at cruise time and my daughter will also be 9 by the time we cruise. It's great to see other girls her age on board. I would love for her to meet up with some kids her age the first day so that she feels more comfortable, especially with the idea of going to the clubs. She is shy as a rule, and on our last cruise she had a built in playmate with her cousin who, unfortunately, is not coming with us this time.

We haven't yet decided on the FE or not, but we would like to sign the kids up for the TOT. I think I will make my mind up about the FE if I find some really cool stuff that I also could get to the ship ahead of time.
