Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Just started laying out all the clothes this morning. I was sure we were going to be missing some things and I am right. DS needs one or two more shirts to wear to dinner, plus dress shoes for his suit for formal night. I also think he needs more underwear. He still does not have a Halloween costume yet.

Surprisingly, DD is good. I don't think she is missing anything. She could use a new pair of Crocs though. And I think I have everything I need also.

I guarantee the big problem will be DH. He lays out his own clothes, which I was going to ask him work on when he gets home from work. I have a feeling he is going to be severely short on clothes. He always is. And yet, he never says anything about needing stuff until the last minute. :confused3

I still have to make our embarkation shirts, but I need to go pick up some more transfer paper. I think I will do that today! FE gifts are all packaged, boxed up and ready to go.

So, progress being made. I wish we were there already!

I normally go to Target or Wal*Mart and pick up a couple of inexpensive fans and ship them ahead of time since we prefer to sleep with a little white noise.

Sending packages is pretty straightforward but for those unfamilar you need to address the package as follows and include a detailed packing list.

Jeffrey Langdon
c/o
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Sail Date: 10/30/2010
Ship: Disney Magic
Stateroom: 8532
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, Fl 32832

I am pretty sure this goes without saying that you need to replace my name and stateroom number with yours or I am going to get a lot of presents. :rotfl2:

Jeff

That is a really good idea, thanks!

You're welcome. There are some "must have" items that are too bulky to pack, but not that expensive that you don't care if you leave them behind.

When we sailed on the eastbound repo from Los Angeles I didn't think to ship to the Magic so we had no fans. When we got to Puerta Vallarta I bought a pedestal fan at Wal*Mart for $20.

Wal*Mart is practically across the street from where the ships dock. I didn't need a fan that big, but the selection wasn't great so that's what I got. Oh yeah, and a bag of Chips Ahoy cookies for Sarah. :goodvibes Kinda humorous walking back to the ship with a pedestal fan.

Missy loves a breeze blowing on her when she sleeps so it made the trip much nicer. You know how it is, "if mama's not happy, nobody's happy" (kidding) :lovestruc

The room stewart was pretty happy too since we left the fan with her.

Good for her! My son is trying to yank his out. Today, he came up to me with hard candy in his mouth. I asked him what gives, and his reply was simple, "trying to lose the teeth, dad."

I told him AFTER the cruise the fairy would be much happier about it.

My DS has lost 4 teeth just in time for School Pics and the Cruisin' pics. He's missing the top two front theeth and a tooth on either side of the bottom front ones. I told him we'd paint his face orange and draw some lines on his face for halloween...he'd make a perfect jack-o-lantern!!!! Oh, and his never grow back in very quickly....4 teeth in 2 weeks....

So me and my hubby fastpak where looking at the pics of some of the food on the boat last night and everything looks so amazing that i dont understand how people can just choose one thing everything looks so good and i would want to try some many things that i cant figure out how i am going to just manage to order one thing when i want the whole menu cause everything looks amazing

We try to order different things and share. Luckily for my girls I don't normally have dessert (I'm a carnosaur, not a dessertosaur) so I order something different then they are having and let them have it.

Palo Brunch is very popular because there are lots of great choices and you can try them all.

dizney-cruiser,

I took your black "Not so Scary" artwork to a shop to have shirts made and the lady will not make them. Her only response is, "look at the pitcure, it is copy righted". How do I explain to her the you have given the rights to have it reproduced? Thanks in advance

Hey Wil, The black (and the white) design is actually Jen's (nenner1) that she made for this group. Mickey Mouse is copywrited, so you will likely have trouble getting a lot of print shops to print things with his likeness on it. That is why most people are printing it themselves at home.:goodvibes

Ron

SpeedyWil, if you have a printer and an iron at home, you really can make your own shirts! And probably for a lot less than at a print shop. Print out a black and white copy first, onto regular paper, to size it up just right. Buy some transfer paper, (Walmart sells them, as well as most Craft stores). Print the good copy onto the transfer paper (be sure to follow the directions in the package of transfer paper), and iron onto your t-shirts. Presto!! Let me know how you make out with it. If worse comes to worse and you didn't need them for embarkation day, I can always print you some here, and you can iron them on once on board (there are irons in the laundry rooms on board). :thumbsup2

Happy Candian Thanksgiving? One of my CA friends on FB saids something so just in case... !!

In other news, I know that in a way the conversation is a little taboo, but this hurricane season has been a strange one. I don't recall too many seasons where the storms have passed along Cuba and the eastern Islands the way that this season has produced. This will also be the 3rd I think that Cozumel has taken a direct hit. Just a really odd year.

Wow! I had no idea a storm had formed! Thanks for the update. We were supposed to go on the Magic to the Western Carib. when Wilma hit Cozumel, so we went Eastern instead that trip! We have done Eastern two times, once booked as Eastern and the re-route due to Wilma. I REALLY Hope and pray that the storm does not cause any damage. The poor poeple had it bad after Wilma!

We sailed the Thanksgiving Western cruise in Nov 2005 three weeks after Wilma ripped into Cozumel and Cancun. DCL decided to go to Costa Maya instead. Hurricane Paula is nowhere near the size of Wilma, it doesn't appear that she will do any serious damage. I hope. ;)

I bought my transfer paper at Michaels. Specifically, I bought the pack manufactured by Wilton. I printed them out, but the words are backwards on the t shirt. Our family will be the ones with backward letters on their shirts so please don't laugh too hard!!

AAhhhh....the directions should have mentioned that you have to reverse the image at some point!! We won 't laugh.....too hard!!! LOL!!! I have done the same thing in the past so don't feel bad!
