Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

I bought my transfer paper at Michaels. Specifically, I bought the pack manufactured by Wilton. I printed them out, but the words are backwards on the t shirt. Our family will be the ones with backward letters on their shirts so please don't laugh too hard!!

LOL, thus why we need to print out a dummy b&W on regular paper first! If the program you are using to print has an option to print "Transfers" or "T-Shirts", then it most likely will reverse the graphic. So what you'd need to do is reverse the graphic first, then hit print, and when the program reverses it, it puts it back correctly. Practice makes perfect. I messed up some transfers my first time as well, if that makes you feel any better. :thumbsup2

Ha! I made the opposite mistake. I bought dark transfer paper (our shirts are black) and I had flipped the image before printing. Except for the dark transfer paper, you are not supposed to flip the image first! Of course, I didn't realize this until I had printed one out....that's what I get for not reading the directions.

Thankfully, I only wasted one sheet before I realized the mistake and I hadn't ironed anything yet. The stuff is fairly expensive at $9.99 a package for just 5 sheets. Since there are only 4 of us, I was still good!

I tried to quote the post above mine but it did not come out right! Sorry, not sure why!

I will put on my application programmer hat on for a second. Web applications use "mark-up" language to format text. When you choose to format text you are "wrapping" the text in mark-up code; your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) renders the text based on the mark-up code.

Wrapping means there is a beginning format tag, the text to be formatted, and then the end tag.

The reason your Quote didn't work is because there is no ending quote tag - [/QUOTE]. You can see in your post the markup starts with the opening quote tag, and the formatted text, but it doesn't have the end tag to "wrap" the text.

Happy Candian Thanksgiving? One of my CA friends on FB saids something so just in case... !!

Adding the end quote tag after the exclamation points will do the trick.

OK, hat off, boring tutorial over. :goodvibes

On the ship you should take a picture of your family facing some mirrors - then the words on your shirts will show up correctly!:yay:

Thanks for all the positive feedback about my goof! I may just buy more shirts and transfers and try again!

Otherwise, I love the suggestion of taking a picture of the whole family facing mirrors!! That would be a funny photo to scrapbook!

I so admire all you creative people creating your own shirts. I would not know where to begin. I have a hard time ironing on my daughters Girl Scout patches...they always seems to end up falling off. My past two weekends have been very busy. Last weekend I spent camping and getting trained so I can take my Brownie Girl Scout troop camping. This weekend I have been staying out of state with my family at my parents house. They went to Vegas on vacation and someone needed to stay with my grandmother who lives with them so we have been here for the weekend. It was also her 85th birthday on Saturday then my best friend got married on Cape Cod on Sunday so I had the wedding to go to. Now all that is finally done and I can concentrate on finishing my planning and start packing for the cruise!!!! I can't believe it is soooo close finally!!!!!

I normally go to Target or Wal*Mart and pick up a couple of inexpensive fans and ship them ahead of time since we prefer to sleep with a little white noise.

Sending packages is pretty straightforward but for those unfamilar you need to address the package as follows and include a detailed packing list.

Jeffrey Langdon
c/o
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Sail Date: 10/30/2010
Ship: Disney Magic
Stateroom: 8532
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, Fl 32832

I am pretty sure this goes without saying that you need to replace my name and stateroom number with yours or I am going to get a lot of presents. :rotfl2:

Jeff

Okay, what's the LARGEST size box you can send? The forum page has a section on mailing and it says that you can't send a box over 12 inches on all sides. Has anyone ever sent anything a tad bit larger than that and gotten away with it? Those dimensions are small -- all the FE stuff I've got definitely won't fit in a 12x12 box. I don't mind the 20 lb qualifier, it is the size of the box that has me alarmed. If any of you did send a larger box on one of your previous DCL cruises, did it make it to your stateroom in one piece?

dizney-cruiser,

I took your black "Not so Scary" artwork to a shop to have shirts made and the lady will not make them. Her only response is, "look at the pitcure, it is copy righted". How do I explain to her the you have given the rights to have it reproduced? Thanks in advance

Hey Wil, The black (and the white) design is actually Jen's (nenner1) that she made for this group. Mickey Mouse is copywrited, so you will likely have trouble getting a lot of print shops to print things with his likeness on it. That is why most people are printing it themselves at home.:goodvibes

Ron

Sorry Wil, that is just one of the downfalls of using Disney themed graphics. I could give you my permission all day but Disney didn't give me permission, so... ;) Even just the pumpkin mickey head would be "Disney" enough to prevent an actual business from producing products with that image.

On my last cruise (famous last words) some folks got the mickey head logo (the red one in my signature pictures) past Cafe Press but they eventually put a stop to it.

Its actually pretty easy to make your own-if you decide to go that route! :)

I can't believe hurricane Paula- oh boy. I doubt it will still around to wreak havoc during our cruise but I really hope it doesn't cause any damage in the meantime...:sad2:

Hi everyone,

Here is the last set of deck plans for Group C, also known as the Late Fish Extender signups.

These plans are blank. Use the Group C listing on Post 1 to fill in the stateroom(s) of the Group C participants yourself. As we are getting very close to sail () neither Janice nor I will have any time to maintain these deck plans, which is why they are provided blank as a do-it-yourself.

Basically Group C is anyone who did not make either the
Group A or B signup deadlines but still wants to participate. It is up to you as a participant if you can handle distributing gifts for Group C. Both A and B lists are welcome to add Group C if they can.

Right now Group C is only two staterooms so if you have the time and gifts to spread some Magic to these folks I know they will be delighted. :goodvibes

As with all of my other cruise files, the password is the first initials of our cruise name Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise followed by the first initials to the words Fish Extender in all CAPS with no spaces. If anyone has any problems downloading, let me know.

Thanks!! :) Jen

Don't know if it's there yet, but I've requested my name be added to Group C as well. I have a bit extra so would love to spread the Magic a bit more. :thumbsup2

Two weeks less two days till we pull out of our Driveway!!! DS7 awoke early early this morning, crying and coughing like a barking seal. I kept him home from school today and now mid afternoon, he's running a low fever and the throat still hurts. He's currently eating ice cream and watching Peter Pan. If he's still poorly tomorrow, I'll take him to the doctor. Sore throat this close to the cruise, I should make sure it's not strep. Anyway, I'm pumping up the vitamins for my entire travel party. Oh and hoping DS7 is feeling up to photos this evening over in our park. I want to get some great fall shots with all 4 of my children here before DS17 flies back to College tomorrow morning. :thumbsup2

I came down with an ear infection last week. First time in almost 30 years, so I guess I was due. Morgan has been coughing and sniffling for a few days now. Well, since we camped with the girl scout troop in the woods of Harvard Friday night. Crossing my finger it stays just a cold. I'm glad we're getting it all out of the way now, but I could really do without it!

Hi. I would like our name added to FE group C too. We also have some extras and would be happy to help "spread the magic" too:goodvibes

I have a hard time ironing on my daughters Girl Scout patches...they always seems to end up falling off.

Ugh. I hate those girl scout patches! My daughter started juniors this year, so has graduated from the brown vest to the green one. I had to iron on all that stuff all over again.

Echoing Judy, I also had some extra stuff after I finished up my FE's for Group A and Group B. I did make up two extra gift bags to give to the two staterooms (SpeedyWil's) currently in Group C. I don't think I could do any more than that though, so I don't think I want to be officially added to the Group C list. If there were a bunch more late sign ups, I would not be able to handle them as I am almost out of stuff and I am shipping my gifts to the Port on Saturday!:)

You can add us also. I've packed extras as well.

As we were walking out the door for our anniversary dinner, DCL called. No, they were not calling to wish us a happy anniversary. Or to offer us an upgrade (which is what I was hoping when I answered the phone). Instead, it was to let us know that the time for our Grand Cayman excursion has changed from 10:45 to 7:30 a.m.

They said the shore excursion provider had changed the time and that I could cancel if I wanted to. I told them we would keep it. It was that or cancel and have nothing booked for that day.

I just hope I can get us all up and out by then!

Wow, that is early. But if you put your mind to it, you can do it!

Speeking of Grand Cayman excursions, for all of us who are going on the Captain Marvins excursion, What time do we get off the ship? And will the Captain Marvins boat be there, with the Captain Marvin's name, so we know where to go? I know someone here who is on this excursion with us, has done this one before. Can you walk the rest of us through it, Pretty Please :thumbsup2

Wish I had time to answer better but I am on my way out the door for work.

When we arrive at the office we will wait in a line to check in then they will assign us to vans. Teh vans take us to the dock where the boats are, when we went both boats were at the same dock but the 2 vans each went to a different boat (we were stuck with alll Carnival people). Not sure if they will segregate our party before or after the van ride, but I do know we won't all fit in one van. Also since we will have the special big boat I'm not sure if it will be at the same dock.

Sorry I gotta run, but maybe Ron can elaborate some more!
:)
