Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

We are thinking about doing Thanksgiving onboard in 2012 as well! I'm curious to see where the ships are going - I would really like to do the 3/4/3/4 but will wait to see what the options/prices are . . . :surfweb:

For all those saving change for spending money, when do you plan to cash in? :surfweb:

Dur, the one I got quoted was for 2011. On the Dream for 4 nights to the Bahamas.

I just looked at the Port Canaveral webcam and I think she's back!:cool1::banana::cool1:

Since I have not seen her in a few months I may be wrong. Anyone else take a look this morning?

Hi for all you concern about if they will take dollars in Cozumel let me tell you that there will be no problem, basically in all the big tourist areas of Mexico and their north borders everybody takes dollars, you will be surprised that in most places like restaurants, taxi, some shops, etc. they rarely advertise their prices in pesos, so you are good to use dollars.

If when you pay something with dollars, You get pesos as change or you deicede to change some dollars into pesos and dont want to bring them home, there are a lot of places near the port called "CASAS DE CAMBIO", money exchange places where you can change your pesos into dollars, the exchange rate changes every day but if you want to buy dollars they go around for $13 pesos for $1 dollar, and if you want to buy pesos $1 dollar will give you $12.75 pesos.

The places I will recommend are:

American Express
Monex casa de bolsa

There are way more places but this two are very well known companies and
possibly with the best exchange rate.

Yep, the Magic is back. Time for drydock; after that a Western, an Eastern and then our cruise!!

Can't wait to see what they do during drydock. It appears to be general maintenance, but you never know.

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes :grouphug: It looks as though we have lost our cash, but it was the money we have been saving in our change jar, and it is not the end of the world. Honestly it is so sad reading about people who have lost $10k +, and people who are travelling in a few days with no spending money at all.

It took away the excitement for about 24 hours, but I'm back in the world of butterfly tummies, and working hard on our fe gifts. See you in 4 weeks! :goodvibes

No worries! :) Ask away, LOL!

No you do not need to bring candy, although you are certainly welcome to either bring candy or any kind of donation to the ToT if you wish. I have volunteered to be the candy girl since we drive and that will also give me the opportunity to divide and organize it prior to leaving home to save precious time for all of us onboard!! I still have not purchased any although it is in the store calling my name (a common occurrence- ha!) :)

Not yet. I won't know for a couple of weeks, It's going to take a little bit of time to get everything printed up.

I can tell at a glance that they did not send any extra with the order (20 packages of 10) but none appear damaged either. So that having been said, my best general estimate is that there will be between 5 and 10 extra. I know that isn't a lot and that several people are interested....I wish I had been able to keep sign ups open longer but as it is I am running up to the wire.

Who hears doc dancing? We do!!!!!!
:dance3::yay::banana:
Thank you, only 25 days till we fly out for a couple days at the parks first. So looking forward to it. Been planning this trip since Pittsburgh beat Arizona in the Super Bowl.

If you happen to have a few extra lanyards we would love the kids to have them. The last cruise we got Disney Cruise, Castaway and DVC lanyards given to us on the ship. The Halloween lanyards are way to awesome not to have. I missed the order deadline by one day. Logged on to late to this thread. That'll teach me.

OMG, we did the coolest.thing.ever today! Made t-shirts with my Cricut and iron on vinyl for the Pirate party.

Wow Jennifer - those shirts are amazing! What a great job you did!

Great shirts! Which Cricut cartridge did you use?

Oh, a bunch of different ones - Life is a Beach, Mickey & Friends, Rock Princess, Paper Doll Dress Up (for the hat on the 0), the numbers were from A Child's Year. I used Design Studio to hide some contours and weld.

Thank you. I'm inexplicably proud! :lmao:
You should be!! Those are awesome!! I've priced out our circut machines here both at Michael's and Walmart. They are well over $300.00. Are they as expensive in the U.S.?

We had our HOTTOTS Sale today, (a consignment sale of childrens clothing, toys and equipment), and there was lots of Disney Costumes on the Halloween rack. Minnie dress, Buzz lightyear, the pony from Toy story, a baby mickey, but all were too small for my kids! Made me think of the cruise though! Are there any good Halloween stores in Orlando/Kissimmee? Thinking of not packing a costume for my 7yr old and instead take him shopping there. But then I guess that will be SO close to Halloween, there might not be a good selection? At the least, he could wear his Pirate Costume again (thats what my 13 year old has decided to wear). :)

They can be expensive. I got mine on Black Friday 3 or 4 years ago now. I LOVE it and have definitely gotten my money's worth. Last year, Walmart had them for $188 on Black Friday. So, if you can make a special trip across the border the day after TG, I highly recommend one!

I may just try and do that! Even with the exchange rate, that would make it worth it! :thumbsup2
