Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

If you happen to have a few extra lanyards we would love the kids to have them. The last cruise we got Disney Cruise, Castaway and DVC lanyards given to us on the ship. The Halloween lanyards are way to awesome not to have. I missed the order deadline by one day. Logged on to late to this thread. That'll teach me.

Hi Wil, good to see you back on the thread! Even though I only have about 3 pages of tags left to print (spent all night at work Friday cutting!) I don't have the majority assembled yet so I still don't really know where we sit on extras. On paper, based on number ordered vs. tags set to be made still it looks like we will have less than 10 extra.

Ron thinks he has figured out a good way to handle how to distribute the extra ones. I have had inquiries from at least 4 families so I know there will not be enough to go around. I hate to disappoint anyone, :(. So I think I will let him handle those since he has a good plan, and I have more than enough on my plate right now.

So , everyone interested in the extra lanyards please be watching very soon for a post from Ron (livingis2me).

OMG, we did the coolest.thing.ever today! Made t-shirts with my Cricut and iron on vinyl for the Pirate party.

I cannot believe how easy they were and I can't wait to make more!!

Wow, Jennifer! Those are fantastic! They look store bought quality! GREAT job!! Morgan is too adorable!

I can't wait to see your tie-dye. We are doing ours later this afternoon!:thumbsup2

Are there any good Halloween stores in Orlando/Kissimmee? Thinking of not packing a costume for my 7yr old and instead take him shopping there. But then I guess that will be SO close to Halloween, there might not be a good selection? At the least, he could wear his Pirate Costume again (thats what my 13 year old has decided to wear). :)

I don't know if Orlando has a dedicated (year-round)party stores. Around here the trend the last few years is for temporary Halloween stores to open up in previously abandoned storefronts. They have huge selection but the quality isn't the best. I have ordered our costumes from Amazon, and Disney Store, since the stuff you can find in the stores around here (including Party City and iParty) is very cheap...you know the thin plastic and fabric.

The places I will recommend are:

American Express
Monex casa de bolsa

There are way more places but this two are very well known companies and
possibly with the best exchange rate.

Thanks so much for your post Jose! I'm so glad we won't have to worry about the money issue and can focus on enjoying beautiful Cozumel!! I can't wait!!!!

I had an awful dream that we had to share a stateroom with Naonka from Survivor, that we had a huge baclony that essentially wrapped the aft of the ship but had 2 pools and Navigational equipment on it, that people were IN our balcony pools , and that Palo brunch was being served out there too. Oh and that I missed the ToT. Talk about nightmare! :rotfl:

Hide your socks!!!

These are wonderful!! (I love your model!) :thumbsup2
One of these days I will learn to use my cricut . . .
:confused3

Thanks everyone, they really were very very easy. I am probably feeling more proud than I should, considering they are t-shirts! :lmao:

We did our tie-dying this morning. I'm going to have a reallllllly hard time not peeking before I should.

If you haven't already done yours, Jen, I *highly* recommend gloves! My hands are a wreck!

SO we just got back from the store.....

In case you've ever wondered what $167 of Halloween candy looks like, well, here you go:

downsized_1003001539.jpg

Yep. A whole cart. It is at the VERY least 50-60 pounds.

So I need some help. I need someone who is either staying at CIS or can meet us there that can bring an empty duffel or small suitcase to help me carry this on. This is honestly enough to fill my largest suitcase and we really can't go out and buy another suitcase right now (nor would we be able to really carry that much, as it would have to be in a bag small enough to go through the scanner.)

Please post or PM me if you think you might be able to help!!! Thanks!!

WOW! As if the free soda on deck 9 wasn't enough to get the kids hyper. :cool1: How much fun is this cruise going to be.

So I know most of the abbreviations, but can't seem to figure out CIS.

CIS is Country Inn & Suites - a hotel in Port Canaveral.

We're staying at WDW the night before the cruise otherwise, I'd offer.

Nenner, I can help. We are at CIS and I'll bring a small duffle bag to help smuggle it all on (LOL) Is one going to be enough? Don't forget, I have a box of 120 minni chocolate bars too! The kids will be sharing their loot with their parents, Correct? ;)

Oh thanks so much Judy!!!

I will have it all organized and bagged, and in a box in our room, maybe we can meet in the lobby a little early for the shuttle and I can transfer the excess over to you, then you can just bring it to the ToT when the volunteers meet at 10:45 Sun (or you could bring it a few feet down the hall to me anytime before that..LOL!!).:thumbsup2 Thanks so, so much! Ron was literally speechless when he saw it, and the first thing he said was "How in the WORLD are we going to get that much candy on the boat?".

81 kids x 6 ToT stops=:faint:

I did remember your chocolate and I believe I purchased accordingly (:rotfl:), we are also getting more chocolate from Sandra (wjcsmd) and Kristie. Don't forget I also have a huge box of non candy stuff from Lynn. So, yes I'd say the kids get to share with the parents.:thumbsup2

I'm soo excited, I think this ToT is going to be Faaan-tastic!!!:yay:

Wow Jen!!!!

Amazing. The kids are going to have a blast. We're staying at the airport Hyatt the night before.

I can't believe it's in a few weeks!!!!!

Hi Jen,

We are staying at the Country Inn Suites the night before the cruise. We can stuff some of those bags of candy in our luggage too!

Thanks so much Beth! I'll take you up on that, as I put the candy "away" for now and it literally DID fill my largest suitcase- almost could not zip it totally!!

I think I will mail the non-food items straight to the ship too. That will help some as well. :)

Thanks again!!! Its a huge help!!

We are staying at the Radisson the night before. Very close. Will be glad to help if we can.

Hey guys this is my first cruise and I enjoy working out and taking classes at my local gym and I saw that Disney cruise line has spinning classes and i know at my local gym u have to sign up for them. Now does anyone know if i have to contact the cruise line or TA to book it or can you just book a spinning class on the book???:confused3::MinnieMo

I really don't know but my gut feeling is you would sign up once on board, not before hand...I have never seen a beforehand sign up for classes...on the first day they have an open house at the spa/fitness center that you could go and ask about then or you might want to drop DCL an email or call them and double check!!!

Don't want to rub it in but we will already be on board so we are unable to help get the candy onboard unless you can get it to the CIS the week before. I began the process of packing yesterday. We only have about two weeks before we pull out. Still hoping to know the 2012 dates while on board so I can book a dummy date.

UGGHhhh. It's Monday:headache: The weekends are just never long enough! I'm SO behind in what I had wanted to accomplish by now, and only a week left to do it all (if I want to keep to my deadline). So today's plan is to move the crafting stuff downstairs to complete down there, so the dining room can become sewing central for a couple days. I looked high and low for a Jedi Costume for DS7. When I finally found one, it was $60.00!!! :scared1: I just can't justify spending that much on a Halloween costume. The stores only have adult size patterns, Sooooo, after taking a close look at it, it seems like a bathrobe style top, with or without a hood, and then two wide strips of fabric that hang over the shoulders, down past the waist and held in place with a belt? Stick a light sabre in his hands and presto..... SOooooo, I think I'm going to attempt to MAKE ONE afterall. We looked at other costumes too, but there was NOTHING he liked. If I happen to not accomplish his costume, then he'll just have to be a pirate on board, twice. :)
