Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

:) So the DH came home from work today with a 7 foot long gorgeous wood Drapery rod. I asked him "Whats that for" and he replied, "THIS is for my FE on the ship"! :rotfl2:

He picked it up for our front living room window. There are just sheers there right now, and the afternoon sun shines SO brightly in there, plus no privacy at night. Now we just have to get the drapes!

Question for all you ladies:
I have my formal and semi formal dresses. Just nice dresses, not ballgown style. Both are Black, one has some color in it, but still a lot of black. I have NO shoes to wear with it, unless I wear my creamy white dressy sandels. Do you think they will be ok, or should I go shopping for What? I'm not one to wear heels, my feet don't like them. A small heel is fine. But what color? The other thing, is I don't know if the stores here will sell summer type dress shoes at this time of year. If not, I suppose I can always shop in Orlando prior to our cruise.
I got both my boys clothes ALL packed today. Everything is in the suitcase and put back in the basement, waiting to go into the van in 4 weeks. So one down, one to go, plus a suitcase for some of the FE stuff and the pirate costumes and whatever my boys will be wearing for Halloween! :)

Since sandals are impossible to find now (I know...I've been looking for DD once I realized her feet had grown since Easter!), and if you are not a heel person, I would probably go with a black ballet flat here. You can find them pretty much everywhere, they are comfortable and can be dressy or casual depending upon what you wear with them. I ended up with black ballet flats for DD. And I wear them all the time with skirts at work. I just cannot walk around my office in heels all day long anymore.

Thanks for the tidbits on the shoes. I'm going to check out Walmart and payless tomorrow (should have checked Walmart when I was there this evening, but didn't think of that), and if I don't find anything there, I'll drive further to Sears.

I got a gorgeous Disney Dream Desk Top Background from DCL on Facebook. I was just looking at it, did some googling and now am puzzled. There are 8 lifeboats on the side of the Dream in this Rendered photo, which means 8 on the other side too. At 150 passengers per lifeboat, that only adds up to room for 2400 passengers. That does even closely cover the number of passengers on the Dream, much less the crew. How's that?:confused3

They also have inflatable lifeboats......just like on the Magic and Wonder and/or it could be the artist rendering is a bit off???? I also downloaded a Dream wallpaper for my computer from facebook!!

We have tons of drama going on in our house...we are two weeks into a bathroom remodel and every step of the way is a roadblock...today a water valve broke and had to have the water company and turn water off at the street so hubby could repair the valve..last week all our tiles we picked out were out of stock..had to go to 5 different stores to collect them all....can't wait for it to be done plus we still have our DD's friend's dog (but DD and friend have moved back to LA from MI and we still have the dog!!). Nephew may have a work commitment and looking unlikely that he will come now...has to fly China, Japan, India and London for the 2 weeks before the cruise and no set date to return to the states...crossing our fingers he will be able to get back. If DD gets a job in LA before the cruise she may not be able to come either....have not booked her airfare yet...waiting to see what happens in the next few weeks.:confused3

Very excited about the big announcement tomorrow in NYC.....hoping for more info on the Dream/Fantasy but I have a feeling it may more Parks oriented than DCL but you never know...maybe they will announce one of the older ships sailing from NYC!! That would be cool......

Here is a link to the live streaming website for tomorrow.

I would go with some black strappy sandals too, especially as they will go with everything (if you can find some), good luck in your search for some :wizard:

Got my cruise package from Disney yesterday. My documents arrived by Fedex. I actually could have had them Tuesday but no one was home to sign for them so they reset delivery for yesterday.

Makes the cruise seem so real! I'm so excited now :cool1:

I also signed up for the Bar Hop at Cozumel.

Can't wait any more! When will October get here!!!!!!

Hi Sarge!!!

Janice,

Thank you so much for the laugh I just had... :rotfl2: I was squinting at my screen about an inch from it and there it was " Hi Sarge".. It is a rough couple of weeks for us, My FIL started Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer, his brother passed away suddenly on Labor day weekend and work has been well if you watched channel 5 news the past few days, I work for the company that is getting railroaded..

Just an FYI to all from NJ flying from Newark Airport... If you knew the truth about what is motivating these stories about security at the airport, you would not concern yourself about saftey there. Don't believe the media spinnnn... You are all as safe as humanly possible.....

Great timing for that one Janice... I really appreciate it...(thats another drink on me)

Oh... please get me on this ship!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 I can't wait any longer!

The lanyards look great and I am so appreciative of the hard work going on here! You must all be sprinkled with Pixie Dust!:wizard:

I am wondering what the announcement will be in NY today..... any guesses?:yay:

I thought I read somewhere that cruisers residing outside of the country typically get their cruise docs first. I think it had something to do with the different shipping method used. Also could be DCL sends out the out of the country packages earlier to make sure people get them on time.

I keep checking my mail also.

Open school night is tonight. I have to go, of course, but it means missing the season premiere of "Bones" which is about the only show I watch on t.v. anymore. I'm going to Tivo it, but it still means I have to wait an extra hour to actually watch it. Yep, I'm like a kid that way. I admit it.

Normally yes, since the TAs typically like to add in some of their own marketing materials. :goodvibes

Yes, she usually sends us luggage tags already filled out.

Wanted to share this photo. My brother works for NASA and this was taken the other night.

I've asked him if we will be able to see it on October 30th from Port Canaveral, but he hasn't answered yet (and the last time I was in Titusville was many many moons ago so I have no idea where the port is in relation to the cape!).

On our previous cruises, I always seemed to be one of the first to get my cruise docs (I'm from the UK). Not this time though, I hope they come soon ::yes::

OMG, what an amazing photo, I can't wait to show my hubby this pic when he gets home from work. We're both space nuts (lol), and we're hoping we'll get to see the shuttle from the ship (if it's a clear day). We were once lucky enough to see a shuttle launch from Cocoa Beach way back in 2001 :)

I used to live there and saw a few, but barely remember it, I was young. I didn't realize how close to the shuttle my brother actually gets, but he said he gets to "crawl all over the stack" in preparation for launch and has even cleaned the inside and outside of the windows. I *think* his job is as an inspector, but I'm not positive.
