how many suitcases are u guys taking cause we are going for 2wks cause we also are going to walt disney before hand and so far we are taking 4luggage and 2 carryons and we are a family of 3 my DH and I and My DS(7) ...

Correction. Should be 3 carry-ons and 2 luggage for 2 week. I'm not sure the car will fit any more.:/

guess i didnt listen very well i need one of the top of the car carryons cause i pack one suitcase for the lake for just a weekend.. ooooh no how am i going to figure out how to pack. i may just have to wear multi outfits on top of each other so i can fit more clothes in the car hahaha just kidding even though it can be a though hehehe

Dreams 83! No worries! I know it is a bit overwhelming to think about the packing, especially if you are doing both parks and ship.

What is great about Oct/Nov for the parks and the cruise is that capris work great for any weather you will be getting. So if you have a pair of capris you like plan on them for a few of the casual nights with a few tops. A pair of black pants any style will work great with a dressier top. Plan on bringing only a few pair of shoes. Tennis shoes for long walking in the park, sandals for pool time on both ship and resorts and a pair or two of nice sandals/shoes for dress up.

The first time we cruised I was so mad at myself for overpacking. The ship has laundry and it is no big deal to wash a few key things, say like a pair of pants you want to wear twice. Do NOT worry about dressing up at the parks unless you really, really want to wear something nice to a Rest. With the exception of Victoria and Alberts you won't need anything dressy for your park stay.

As for the cruise please don't stress about dressing up. You really don't need a fancy dress for formal night. It is nice to dress up but only do it for yourself, you will see all kinds of people in differing outfits and other than you walking in and out of the restaurant, no one is going to see what your wearing anyways.

Hi all
We are sailing with all of you on the 30th and have been following all of the great info from here on disboards. I would like to ask that you keep Janae in your thoughts and prayers. Janae is 4 yrs old and she is having a 3 hour surgery tomorrow at Childrens hospital in Columbus Ohio. Her mother Gina, who is on an insulin pump has been very stressed and her blood sugars have been all over the place worrying about Janae. I have been very worried about both of them. This cruise has helped in taking our minds off of what Janae
will be going through.
Janae is so anxious to get to the big boat (as she calls it) and to see Snow White. She is a bit obsessed with her and says she wants to be Snow White when she grows up.
We are all so excited about our cruise and all of you have added to our excitement. This is a wonderful place to come to for peace of mind. We can't wait to meet all of you.

ok question what do u guys wear on reg casual nights i know u cant wear jean shorts and such but what do u wear do u dress up every night or what. The closer to the cruise the move crazy i feel like what do i pack what do i wear. I had a friend just get back from a caranival cruise and she said she wore summer dresses every night and in the day just lived in her swimsuit and cover up but im confused if u have pictures from what u will wear or previous cruises can u post so i can get a idea of a normal night at dinner will look like. Im not big on dressing up all the time and really like being casual but what is casual at dinner for everyone. Panic attack lol lol

In the day I live in top/t-shirt and shorts (except when I'm in the pool of course ) and I like to dress up every night, whether it's a nice dress, dressy top and capris and I'm looking forward to my first formal night where I am hoping to buy my first long dress

I feel like i have to go shopping cause during the year we dont really go anywhere fancy so i never need formals even though so far i do have my formal dress. But im a mom who works in the gym so i am always in yoga or fitness sporty shorts cause i work at a gym so i feel like im panicking cause i have to shop and summer here is over and im not having alot of luck finding summer clothes and when i do its like so i buy for my current size or the size smaller since im dieting. But my thing was just trying to figure out the dinners cause im sure i will be in swimwear during the day so im not worried there. I guess with it getting closer its finally hitting me that we are actually leaving in 2months. my DH is usually on here every day researching and looking at pictures and me i just kept saying i got time LOL well now i just starting geting on here and it can get overwhelming guess i better start making a list

As we're from the UK we have to try and pack into two suitcases all our clothes for one week at WDW and for the cruise, we may pay extra and bring a holdall too

Sorry - in all seriousness - if you try to pack enough clothes for two weeks, you'll end up with too much luggage. If you're worried about what to wear to dinner - why not try Old Navy or a similar store and just pick up a couple of light summer dresses? Then just pack what you would wear for the parks, plus a swim suit and a nice outfit for formal night and you're good to go.

And I do think you should plan on doing laundry (I'd do it before leaving WDW - it's what I was planning to do when we were going for two weeks) instead of waiting until you are on the ship. Depending on where you're staying - disney often puts washers and dryers near their pools so you can relax at the pool one evening while doing a couple of loads.

Dreams83: I'm a capri girl myself, though this summer I did buy some dresses. It's been years since I wore a dress. My problem is, I found one I actually LOVE, so how do I wear it just once during the cruise???? Last fall, we did WDW just before the cruise and we had driven down, so we had a full two weeks of vacation. I packed one suitcase per big person and had the little kids share a suitcase. I also did laundry on board on our Sea day, just one load and it didn't take long. I may do that again.

The stores here have started putting out all their Halloween stuff!!! Normally I wouldn't be excited about that except that I was planning on using the clear Cellophane Halloween treat bags for my FE gifts. So I was able to get all that I needed and was thrilled to discover they are big enough to hold the Adult FE gifts I have made!! So I better get busy finishing up those gifts.

I will wear capri's 4 or 5 of the nights, I have a "little black dress" that will be for either Palo or formal night and I will wear long black pants with a dressy top one or two nights. I have several tops to wear with long black pants that are too dressy for capri's. I will not wear shorts as I don't own any dressy shorts, they are all very casual!

We are just counting down the days now! We fly on the 27th Oct so exactly 72 days today. I am in the process of sorting out a Halloween outfit for my youngest DD who still wants to be a princess. DD10 dressed as a ninja last year, so all hopes of a pretty outfit are fading fast

Reading all of the what to wear posts, I'm scouring the sales for cruise clothes, we usually dress so casually in Florida I am realising my warm weather clothing is lacking. I was in Cardiff earlier and all of the shops seem to have their winter ranges in and not much in the way of sunshine clothes. Doh

I was just logged in on DCL site and I am still GTY but I was looking around at excursions and Palo and noticed that it said Brunch is available for a party of one to two people. I did not click into it because I did not want to take a chance of my current Palo brunch getting canceled! But, anyone that did not get a brunch yet, go check it out!!

It did still say no availability for Tea in Palo.
