Oct 3, 2009 Wester Carribean

this cruise needs a theme name. Val I believe our name is the Disney Dreamers!! I think Kristi was working on designing a logo for it.

Thanks for the FE ideas!! Just trying to start now and afraid I won't buy enough.

Thanks for the cab info, I guess I was thinking most american cabs are suited for 3-4 people. So I am guessing if you book 4 or more the Dolphin Discovery gives you a taxi voucher or will refund ur money u pay for taxi? Also do they send ur tickets in the mail or do they have a will call or something?

Anyone know any cool shops or straw markets for finding cheap neat gifts.?

You receive a confirmation by email. On your paper it gives you the instructions for the cab ride. ( ours were in Spanish this last time, so I called the week before.) you literally just have to get a taxi/cab right by the port and tell them Chankanaab National Park, once you arrive, you will be greeted from someone from the park who will take care of the taxi and you will be given another voucher ticket for the cab ride home. just dont lose it. there are free lockers there too.
It was really simple and painless. :)
the kids had a blast there too. :)

cool name!! :) Disney Dreamers. :)

Thanks Val for all the info....Knowing makes the trip so much easier. i am a planner which i am sure everyone has already figured out. I am very organized so all my ducks will be in a row by prolly no later then March. The only thing I wait to handle is my airfare....the more patient you can be the better deals arise. I won't have air till prolly june at the earliest, unless some real good deal shows up on my dorrstep...LOL

I was reading on other cruise meets that people are canceling the current cruise they are on to book the new 2010 itineraries. Is anyone doing that here? I'm not (couldnt afford to cruise to the Med. anyway), but I like talking with you guys and dont want to lose a friend:) to chat with.

OK enough of me being sappy...there is an amazing Christmas cruise :santa: I have been hearing rumors about. I think someone said it was going to the southern caribbean. I would love to do that, but I am positive that would be really expensive!!

We will not be going on the european. As much as I wanna, people with kids usually have a hard time going unless they got money to burn. I would love to do it though. Anyone got an extra $3000 to pay for the girls....LOL I would go without but can't imagine it. Maybe when they r teenagers and I am pulling all my hair out. Can't wait to see where the new ships go!! I would love Hawaii....some say Alaska and i would do that but my picture of cruising is warm sun and thats not Alaska. my family lives there and yeah not sunny...LOL

I am not cancelling this cruise either. I have waited so long to take it and nothing is stopping me now. I would love to do another Disney cruise, perhaps Hawaii or maybe southern caribbean.

Thanks Marianne for the info and happy anniversary also. I am still thinking of some things to put in the FE's. I think I want to ship a box to port so I dont have to lug it around. If I put all my FE stuff in a flat rate box iand ship it, it is cheaper than paying the extra baggage fee.

I really am excited that it is less than a year from now before we leave. It still seems like a long time, but it will be here before we know it:yay: :yay:

Happy Anniversary Marianne and Mike! Wow, 25 years next year, that is quite an accomplishment!:lovestruc I do believe LisaG is going without kids too, so you're not the only ones! Also, my DB's inlaws are traveling without kids. Well, they wont have any in their cabin. They aren't on the boards yet, but I'm going to tell her that if she wants gifts, she's got to step up. My SIL signed up, it only took a few months of lurking though.
By the way, where are you Laura? Can you believe that we are at less than a year and I haven't called you at work everyday this week?
Well I'm off...talk to you guys later.

Happy anniversary! My hubby and I will be celebrating are 3rd anniversary on Sunday in Australia. :cool1:

We will also be on this 10/3/09 without kids. I am sure the new cruises will be great, but I have my heart set on this one, so no switching for me! We are under a year of waiting, I don't want to extend that any! Plus, I selected the Western Caribbean specifically so that I could see those 6-toed cats at Hemingway House. :) What can I say? I am a cat person.

I know can you believe it....... We are so excited about the Mickey Boat. There are so many things to read about on here. It's hard to keep up.

Dis mom are you thinking about doing any excursions? Tommy might want to play golf somewhere... Have any of you or your DH's gone golfing while cruising?

Sort of right - we have no kids but are traveling with my sis, bil and 8 yr old (at time of sailing) niece right across the hall. This will be our first cruise with a child in the our traveling party.

She is not going to Europe with us though :rotfl2: :lmao: (my sister has hinted she and niece could go as 3rd and 4th in our cabin but I'm thinking not:thumbsup2 )

That was the only place we went in Key West on our last Western. And my niece is already talking about seeing the cats on this cruise!

Laura, my husband golfed in St. Thomas. at Mahogany Run. He booked the excursion through Disney and it was like $245. He liked the course but thought that they should have at least got something to drink and a shirt or even a golf towel saying I survived the ... Oh shoot that called it something but anyhow. So he said he wouldn't do it again.

Hi everyone! It seems every time I think I'm going to have a break to keep up with everyone here I end up swamped. I think I'm just not going to promise anything right now cause who the heck knows what's goingt to happen next. :) I'm sorry I haven't been here for awhile. First and foremost, WELCOME to our new cruising friends. We're glad you joined us.

Our group name is The Disney Dreamers. :) I will try to have a logo idea together in the next week or two for your consideration. You can let me know then what you think or if you think of any changes. :) My BFF and her DH are also joining us on this cruise. She's been extremely busy lately thus the reason she hasn't been on here. She's blessing me with a baby shower (yes I'm supposed to know about it) so she's been busy with that as well as other things that have come up recently. Hopefully she'll get back on to check things out. I think she'll be amazed at how many pages have gone by. LOL

As far as the fish extenders are concerned, I'm thinking that we should stick to a gift per family. If the family has children and you wanna put something extra into that gift for them that's cool with me but for now if we stick with one per family we're looking at less $$$ for all of us. If we get an outrageous amount of people on this thread and that idea becomes a huge financial burden on all then we can certainly split it up. :) When we did our gifts some people had the fish extenders and some didn't so we all made sure we had a bag, ribbon, etc. to tie the gift to the fish or the door. :) Another idea I can throw out that we did with our last group was the coordinator (in this case, me) made small magnets for everyone to "tag" people. You got a list of names (the online name that we all know so well as well as the real names and ages) that also had room numbers on them as well as one magnet. That day you started your gift giving by taking a gift with the magnet and putting the magnet on the door thus "tagging" that family and leaving your treat. Once you received your first magnet you were able to take it and "tag" the next person on your list. To make sure it worked we started with the first person after your name on the list. It worked out great. We were told that on the day before the last cruise day, whoever you hadn't tagged you made sure to get your gifts to them. I think the only thing I would do different on that idea is to give everyone an extra magnet so that you had one to take home for scrapbooking, etc. :) You can let me know if you like this idea at all.

A quick adoption update for those of you who are following. We received word that our "final" step is being worked on. This step, however, takes 60 working days or more. We're praying for 60 or less of course. We also received two new pictures of Katelin. Yes me and my pictures aren't here yet. I will do my best to get them added on here shortly. She is absolutely adorable. And, we have decided that she has more than Vietnamese in her because, they are saying (and she looks it) that she is at 4mos. already 16 lbs. She's already the size of a 6mo. old. WOW! Anyway, that is my short update.

Well, it's back to work for me. :( You all take care and I'll do my best to get back to you quicker this time. Kristi

We are definitely doing this cruise, but I am also hoping to book the Westbound Transatlantic for 2010 as soon as booking opens on Tuesday.

Well, everyone...tomorrow is my BIG day. Off to Australia with Adventures By Disney. I hope that everyone keeps the cruise countdown going for me while I am gone. I am reading my Passporter book and getting more excited by the minute.

kpflillirpf - Enjoy your shower!

Take care everyone! See you towards the end of October...

I hope that you have a wonderful time. Adventures by Disney and Australia are two things that we love to do one year, but looks like our vacation $s are tied up with cruising for the next few years.

dolphingirl47

beansf-Have a wonderful time on your Adventure by Disney!! When you come back we would love to see pictures:)

Kristi-How exciting that you are almost at the end of your journey!! I hope everything goes quickly for you and Katelin is over here with you soon:hug:

So, if people dont want to (or cant afford to) do the med. or european cruises will they still have the Wonder going to the caribbean and would that do the eastern and western?
