Dining plan and water park first day

Do I actually have to physically check in my resort to activate the dining plan? Can I do online check in for my resort and have the dining credits available for use at the waterpark?

I am not 100% sure regarding dining plan, but I would think that checking in through the app would suffice. I can't even remember the last time I actually checked in at the desk, so I wouldn't think you need to.

If you do online check in, then no, you can go directly to the water park and start using your credits. Given you have a magic band already or the MDE app on your phone.
