Finally some-one. A thread to start.
Booked, but not sure whether to stay with one of the SPR or secret cat 5 aka at cat 7 rate.
Poor DD will have to miss a week of school, since I also want to stop by the Food and Wine festival at Epcot and MNSSHP at Magic Kingdom before we cruise.

I was on the Sept 2006 cruise that were bumped for the 11 day. Sure wish I could go on that one but I can't take my DGD out of school that long. We had a SPR on that cruise. They were going to give us one on this cruise but I talked them into just givimg us cat 9's. I guess your one of the people they were going to upgrade to give us the SPR. How weird is that?
I personally like the cheaper rooms. We are never in the room to begin with. We had a cat 11 for May 2005. We didn't think we would like it but liked the darkness better.
How old is your DD? My DGD is 8. We are taking her out of school too. I hope they do something for Halloween.
It will be good to know you by the time we go .

Hi everyone! Is this the thread for the 4 day wonder leaving on oct 29? If so, i'm so glad someone started a thread! I've been watching for a thread to start, and thought about starting one a while ago. We've been booked since feb for this cruise!! Our TA said there will be trick or treating and lots of fun!! It seems so far away. We were on the jan 2005 trip, and we can not wait to get back on the ship!! There will be me (shannon) hubby, and 3 kids, (we hope to add a 4th child, but not pregnant yet, so that is still to be determined!). My parents, and another family of four are coming with us. Can't wait to get to know some of you!!

The last cruise I went on was May 2005. We had over 100 people meet for the sail away party. It was a blast. It was really nice to know people before we went.
I really hope we'll get ot know each other.

Bumping up again! The cruise seems sooooooo far away! This will be a great way to get excited about it! How many cruises have you been on? Dh and i sailed with carnival for our first cruise (on our honeymoon)...we really didn't like it...we are not the partying type. Everyone at our table was into the gambling and night clubs, and we are not. We felt like kids on that, and it didn't help that we knew noone, and nothing about cruising! We went on our first disney cruise in jan 2005, and wow! That's what i call a cruise! We took our 3 dc, my parents, and my brother. It was a lot of fun, but i wish i would have visited these boards more often before the cruise. I only checked this board a few times before our cruise, so i didn't have much time to get all the great tips. Now i can't stay away! I check in almost daily, and i have a notebook started with alot of great tips. I can't imagine how many i'll have before we go next time. These boards are great! Can't wait to hear from others!

This will be my third DCL. We've never been on any other cruise line for the same reason. We're not the party or gambling type. We went on a 4 day and a 7 night. I like the 7 better but this time my son and his girlfriend are coming with us and he couldn't get off two Sat.'s in a row. The sacrifaces we do for our children. It will be me(Debbie), My DH, DD Ds Girlfriend & DGD. How old are your kids? My Grandaughter is 8. She lives with me. So she goes every where with me.
We should get to know each other like best friends by the time we cruise. That will be so much fun.I can't wait to go. I feel like I got to have a DC planned at all times.

This is so cool talking with someone else going on the same cruise as us! I tend to get a little excited, and it drives dh crazy...he just can't get excited yet cuz it's too far away!! Now, that we have a thread started for just our cruise, i'm even more excited!!!!!! Our last cruise was a 3 day, we thought we'd better just dip our feet in for the kids first time. I really wasn't sure what to expect, and it really blew me away when we boarded the ship. My parents and my 27 yr old (single) brother went in jan with us too. We had such a good time, and we really wanted to book onboard for the discount, but we didn't feel we had enough money saved to make the deposit. Silly us, forgot about income tax time and we usually get a big refund, so we came home, filed income tax, and then at end of feb booked this cruise. I talked my parents into coming again with us. We will be doing a lot of celebrating, and we almost ended up with a diff cruise. Our anniversary is nov 9 and it will be our tenth anniversary!!! So, we looked into around that time frame, and then my dad needed us to look in oct, cuz of his work sched. It worked out perfectly. My mom and dh birthdays are on oct 25, so we will get to celebrate 2 bdays and our 10yr anniv!!!! This cruise priced out a little cheaper than the other one we were looking at, and when our TA mentioned trick or treating on the ship, we knew this was the one for us. Did i mention that we can not wait???!!!
Anyways my kids will be at the time of sailing--ds(8yrs); dd(6yrs); and ds(3yrs). We have actually been trying to conceive another child, and we have a cutoff of oct...infant has to be at least 12 weeks in order to travel. We are crazy trying to get pregnant this close to cruising, but that was our plan before we scheduled the cruise, so we are sticking to it!! We'll have to see what happens!! Also traveling with us is another family of four and their kids will be boy-7yrs; and a girl-6yrs. It should be alot of fun! Talk to you soon.

I get way too excited too. Talking to someone else makes it more real. My DH And DD think I'm nuts. They don't even know yet that I started a Thread already. They'll think I'm nuts for sure. This will be the first time for Son (25 now) & DD 28. they have never been on any cruise before. They are both afraid of getting sick. I think DCL is the best thing I've ever experienced. Even better than WDW. My DGD and I and her other Grandmother are going to WDW on Sept 2, 2005. We got the Florida resident rate which includes room, food and three day tickets. That will hold me over alittle bit till the cruise. I hope to book a 7 day as soon as the 2007 rates come out. I'll book and then see if they will match on the ship, when we go in 2006. Or we'll see what is cheaper the discount on the ship or early discount. Next time try booking for just two of you on the ship and adding the rest later. That way you get the discounts and on board credits but only need the deposit for two of you then.What ever it takes to go!!!!!! The next 14 months can't go fast enough. Good Luck with the Baby. I've been so busy showing it off, that i've kind of neglected the housework!! I may have talked another family into trying the cruise though...they thought it looked like a lot of fun!! They just can't imagine!! Well, i'll probably be able to post more tomorrow...

When we went in May 2005. I talked my girlfriend into going at the last minute. Now their hooked. I have never found any one who went and didn't love it. I don't have much time tonight either. Wow, it's been a few days since i've been able to post!! Are you getting ready to go to wdw?? I'm so jealous!! We have visited wdw every year in jan for the past 4 yrs, and now, since we are cruising in 2006, we have to skip our jan visit to the world. I hope i can handle it ok!! I just have to remind myself that it is for the better...a cruise is soooo worth it! Do you visit there often? Are you close or do you have to travel a while? You said your gd is in school right? Do you get "hassled" for pulling her out of school? We have only had to deal with taking ds out of kind and 1st grade. Teachers really didn't like it too much, but he made up all his work, and didn't fall terribly behind while we were gone. In kindergarten, he missed 2 whole weeks due to disney!! Ok, it wasn't due to disney...it was due to my obsession with disney!!! Have you been watching the thread about the repo? There is an awesome video on there, and i have been watching it daily!! I even went out and bought the cd that was used for the video. I can't get it out of my head. I did have my dh watch it and he finally admitted that it made him a little excited to get back! He has been so laid back about it because it is so far in the future. He just doesn't understand how we can be soooo excited about it already. I told him about this thread, and he just chuckled!! Little does he know.....!!!!!
Well, i guess that is all for now. I do daycare and i'm supposed to be going to bed. 6:00 am comes awful early when your dealing with a bunch of rugrats!!

It has been a couple of days. I was sick. Got that stomach thing from the GD but we're all better now. Yes I am soooo looking forward to going to WDW. It's just me, Kennedy and Brenda ( that's Ken's other grandmom). We have a lot of fun on our all girl weekends. We try to do them a couple times a years. NO men to tell us what to do. WE got one of those packages with the food included. So we're going to do somethings we haven't done yet. Like dinner at Cinderella's castle and Hoop-de-Do.
When we first moved to Florida, we lived in Orlando because of my obsession with the mouse(beat That) We lived there for a year and a half. Then my Daughter got Married. So we moved to Tampa to be closer to GD. Well now she's divorced, so here we are stuck in Tampa. We were thinking about moving back but I just don't know. Tampa is about 70 miles from the mouse. Not to bad.
I love WDW but the DCL is even better. I would give up WDW to go on DCL. I wish I could live on the ship. Wouldn't that be fun. ( talk about being crazy).We are suppose to get some of Katrina this weekend. Better this weekend than next. Rain Rain!!!!!!!!

Hey Debbie!! We are on the second page of this thread!!!!!!! Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. Stomach bugs are the worst!! Glad you all are doing better. You are so lucky to be able to go to wdw a couple times a year! We were doing the once a year, but i'm so totally hooked on the cruise now, i don't know when we will get back to the world. I'd like to include it with our trip in oct 2006, but not sure how much time i'll be able to keep the kids out of school for. We'll have to see...
Well, that's all for tonite. I'll try to post again tomorrow. I like to watch your ticker counting down. August is almost done already, and that means it's another month closer to our cruise!!!! I had the best time of my life. The weather was just great. It wasn't crowded. And best of all no husband. We did what we wanted when we wanted. It was great.I've been meaning to write but I've been so busy this week. It's funny but I was thinking the same thing "we're on the second page". How's everything there? Everything here is good. THank God it's Friday. I look forward to hearing from you.
