Oct 24th, 4 nights on the Wonder... who's in

Ok, if that turns out to be the case, I'll just nod and agree with whatever you say. :rotfl:

Wouldnt be thr first time...:confused3

DH claims that after about 4 beers he'll be able to understand you:drinking1:shamrock:

only 4...i'm impressed...unless i have had a few myself...when i have difficulty understanding myself:laughing:

With Canadians for parents, I grew up around enough Anglo's to understand almost every dialect.

This would also work. Or maybe I'll just look for a Babel Fish.
em...i've been to Canada...can't say i heard many british accents, although so many of us go/went there....

Right...back to work! Suitcases down and on the bed...ironing board primed and ready for action....list of stuff we still need to get getting longer. It must be nearly time to go....:rolleyes1

Rethinking that offer to let you sit by me at the nursing home, Andrea. This sounds strangely reminiscent of a few parties from my college days. Or should that be reminiscent of a few strange parties from my college days? :scared::crazy2:

:lmao: Uhhh.... yes, I also went to college.... I think.... there seems to be a vague image in my memory... I can remember a desk, some greek letters, an occasional dark basement, and a marching band... but I don't recall ever using cardboard, yarn, Halloween buckets and zip ties for anything "creative"...:scared1:

My signature quote says it all. ;)

Hey, does anyone know if you can still drop off stuff at guest services for all of the characters to sign? I'm working on a couple of anniversary gifts for DH, and I want to get signatures on one.

We're less than a week out from the cruise and I just discovered this board. We've never been on a cruise - let alone a Disney cruise, but we know it'll be an awesome time! I was looking for tips and just general info on what to expect. There will be 6 of us split between 2 rooms. DW and I, 3 DS's (10, 13 and 15) and DD (7). We'll be somewhat apparent by our youngest son's all too realistic pirate leg and just-growing back hair (but all is good now - thus the cruise!) I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but assuming we're not going to Palo's (don't want to go w/o kids) how "dressy" is the "dressy" night? It would be nice to not to have to pack a suitcoat. Should all us guys have ties and dress shirts? We're planning on slacks and collared shirts for all the evening meals, but I don't know if one will require more than that. Any other tips for rookies? Sorry we missed the FE's - would have been neat!

Thanks!

John

Welcome! :wave2:

Slacks and collared shirts will be fine for you guys. No need for suitcoats. On "dress up" night you might see a few men w/ ties, or jackets, and one or two w/ both - like my DH who's one of those weird guys who likes to "dress up", but none of that is mandatory. DCL is very laid back about the dress code.

Sounds like your family really needs this cruise! You picked a good one.:thumbsup2 Try to join us in the Promenade Lounge at 3 on embarkation day. And ask away here. We'll try to answer between throwing items into suitcases and generally panicking about packing. I, personally am waiting for Cindy to send me her mice to do the packing for me. ;)

So, how will we know each other when we get there?

We need a secret code. How about "Cindy's mice sent me." Or "Kungaloosh!" You know, something to make people who aren't in on this move faaaarrrrr away from us. :rotfl:

Just got the kids' pirate costumes yesterday, still no packing, only PILES made. We'll make it, right? LOL!

well..i'll be the short fat scot with a cocktail in my hand.:)

cant ever say this has been a problem in previous cruises...its generally just Dis/Dibber who congregate there at this time. And wannabes ...obv:rotfl2:

I'll have that stressed out look, and we are all dressing in red t's with white shorts. The kids will be running around like crazy....

;) And... I'll be the one with the Minnie Ears on....

Was kinda worried this morning.... I noticed last night that my left eyelid was kinda sore. Checked the mirror and it was a bit swollen as well. This morning it's kinda red and a bit swollen all along the lash line.... but doesn't seem to be getting worse. :confused3 My neck is sore as well.... but not as bad as past episodes when I could barely turn it. I have a bruise on my arm and a zit on my face. But all of that doesn't matter to me anymore because today I bought the perfect pair of SPANX! :thumbsup2

Just checked the replies list to this thread and learned that almost half are doing the FEExchange. (9 out of 21).

Also learned that I talk too much!(67 posts!) :surfweb: .... :lmao:

So with all that talking, are you packed yet? ;)

I got stuck in a meeting I didn't need to attend this afternoon. I spent it listing what I should pack in which bag. But I couldn't remember all the specifics. It sort of came down to clothes, FE stuff, and booze.

Oh, we'll be the ones in the red "Celebrating our Anniversary" t-shirts. Yep, we've finally joined the cult of the matching t-shirts.

I've been working on the "bath bag" for awhile now. It's holding everything from deodorant to a lint roller. That's pretty much done... just need to add a couple of things I'm still using the day I leave. Sorted clothes today to make sure I had enough top/bottom combinations to get me through the whole trip (I'm sooo not a clothes *****... this was kinda tricky to figure out... lots of trips to and from the mirror). I won't pack clothes until Friday. Don't want them to wrinkle. As for my daughter and her stuff.... :guilty:.

Getting stressed! Thursday alone I have a ped appt for DS4, an OB appt for myself, a wax, Daisy Scouts for DD5, and Open House at their school in the evening. Then Sat we have DD5's karate belt test in the am and we leave around 3 pm. OMG!

Getting stressed too! I also am guilty of piles but not completed suitcases. Well, the FEs are packed so I guess I have packed one suitcase!

Got you all beat...we are flying out of NY tomorrow morning @ 7 am for first leg of our b2b, and I have packed... NOTHING! Crunch time. See you all at 3 on Sunday!

We will probably try the day pass at the British Colonial Hilton, which is walking distance from the ship in Nassau. Weather predicted to be beautiful!:yay:

FE bag is packed. Yay. :flower3:
DH drank all my Bacardi. Boo. :headache:
Got stuck working in dispatch at work yesterday so made lists of everything else to pack, but I really can't do anything until DD goes to school Friday morning. UGH.
Maaaaaybe I can work on my stuff tonight. Oh boy. :laundy:!
