Hello. I'm trying to create a cruise meet for the 13-night WBTA Oct 20 - Nov 2, 2024. How do I create the link that I can then send as a request to be posted? Thank you.

You did it. This is your thread here. You may want to edit the title to include the ship name and dates. Your fellow cruisers will find you here.

Super excited about this sailing. I'll be solo and this will be my 11th cruise. My husband can't take off work during this time and both college age kids will be in classes during this time. So, I've decided to go alone. I was a bit hesitant to take such a long cruise without them, but now that I've committed I am very excited.and I'll be celebrating a birthday!

My husband and I will be on the cruise. It departs Southhampton on my 67th birthday :)

My Husband and I will be joining for our 25th Anniversary! This will be his first passport stamp, very excited!

We just booked our flights and I'm starting to look for pre-cruise hotel.

My husband, my adult son and I will be celebrating his (Well-deserved) retirement on this cruise. Some days in the UK prior and then the cruise. So many details to be worked out, but plenty of time. Anyone have any good suggestions for transportation from Heathrow to a Central London hotel? We will have much luggage. Yikes!:moped:

Two seniors making this cruise with you all. Flight booked and one day stay at Ibis done. Right after our recent Members cruise this past Sept sailing. We are totally excited to relax enjoy the wonderful people we shall meet.

Booked and ready to start planning. My husband and I will be traveling celebrating his birthday. I believe my sister and her husband will be joining us as well. I am ready to be unplugged and reading a good book.

Anyone have ideas for what to do in our ports?
No clue what to do at the ports yet. I want to make sure we get the most of our time off the boat with so many sea days. Hoping to do some research within the next few weeks. Let me know if you find something fun!

I am considering booking this cruise. What airport would you use for this cruise terminal? Anyone flying out of NY and if so what airline?

The most efficient way of getting to your hotel from Heathrow is to get either The Elizabeth Line Tube or Heathrow Express train to Paddington Station and then take a taxi from the train station to your hotel.

I used to live in London and have flown into Heathrow so many times Ive lost count. Heathrow is about 20 miles from central London and taking a taxi from the airport will be expensive and take approx 2 hours, depending on traffic.

The airport will depend on the airline you choose. There are two international airports Gatwick or Heathrow. Both are about 3 hours travel from Southampton. Most people get the train to London and then the train to Southampton.

Depends on where your hotel is. I usually stay on the Picadilly line (not because of the tube to Heathrow but because it's where family lives, where work is, and/or where my chosen hotel is) and find it more efficient to just take the tube. By the time I take the train and then a taxi, timewise the tube is about the same amount of time while being cheaper and having fewer transfers.

Agree with this also. London is big, so it really depends on your final destination. Also with tube stations, many just have stairs and first timers are not able to haul their luggage on and off the tubes. I used to take Piccadilly Line when I lived in London, however the last few times I took Heathrow Express, due to the shorter travel time and onward connections.

My wife and I have just booked this trip (VGT) so lots to learn for our first transatlantic and first time to London

Thank you for your response. Wow seems like quite a distance from the airport to get to Southampton cruise terminal.

Also, we have never done a transatlantic-for those that have done them before I would appreciate hearing about your experience. That is a lot of days together at sea.
