Oct 2012, In which it was Cold and Blustery....updated 01/08

:wave2: I'm from Tonawanda too!

Love the diet coke! :rotfl:

Okay, this is getting bizarre!!:confused3 So, where in Tonawanda are you from? I am from the Town...down by Elicott Creek.

And yeah, that whole diet coke schtick was pretty funny...the girls really got a kick out of the whole thing!:goodvibes

I love WCC. You guys had a fun day!

Yes we did have a fun day, we didn't overdo it and just had a great day!:thumbsup2

I missed your fun updates! What a great day you had :)

I never do get to meet any princesses (with 2 boys) so I live through DISers meet n greets!

I didn't even know all that stuff was back in the Storybook Circus area. But I think maybe the big tops weren't open in Sept when we went? We'll have to check it out this year.

Your lunch at WCC looks fun. My DH would walk out-seriously-if they waiter tried to make him sing! I would be getting some serious stink-eye!!

Post scrip from Day Two:
What I forgot to mention was, since we never got to Walmart on our arrival day, we needed food for the mornings. We stopped at a Hess station and grabbed some over priced milk and cereal.

Day Three!!

Oct 24th and the weather was...high of 87 and low of 70. Not bad temp wise, but there were some clouds in the sky....

We left off relaxing for the evening by the pool and in the hot tub and heading to bed at a very reasonable hour. We needed our rest! Today was a big RD day...can NOT miss this RD or it's all over, folks!

Disney's Hollywood Studios!

We got up and had breakfast in the room. We didn't rush, DHS is right down the road from WBC. Again, location, location, location! The park hours were listed as 9-9, but as had been happening in months past, they opened early at 8:45 to avoid the crazy mad dash to TSMM. We followed our usual plan of attack: Ferb walks briskly to the FP machines while the girls and I walk at a safer pace with the crowds and we meet up to ride together. In the past we have been the ones waiting for Ferb because people with multiple passes would be in front of him at the machines. But this time he had to wait for us.

We rode with little to no wait and while we walked through got this pic:

We all love this ride! We always have a blast...some people say it's a glorified arcade game...but when you hear people whooping and hollering and have a great time, I don't see how you can downplay that?:confused3

When we came out it was raining a bit. Not enough to slow anyone down, especially us!:thumbsup2 We decided this would be a good time to split up. Ferb took Rapunzel to ride Star Tours and Stitch and I headed to RnRC!! Again, little to no wait for this ride!! We love this one!!

We met up with Ferb and Rapunzel at the Phineas and Ferb M&G. We had done this in Jan and got such great interaction...too bad Mommy was using the camcorder and got nothing...:rolleyes1 But, we had another great visit with our current faves!! Ferb especially loves these guys!

This is another time when our character pages were a hit! The boys loved having a page just for them!

We took advantage of our location and headed towards the Muppets 3D. But as we were walking I noticed a PP person by the speeder in front of Star Tours. I got all excited and MADE the family head over there. I heard complaints the whole way....but I was sooooo glad I did it! Later when we walked by she was gone!

No one can say my Ferb doesn't like to have fun!:thumbsup2

We watched Muppets, then rode TSMM with our FP and grabbed another before they ran out!

Waiting for our FP ride!

We were getting hungry at this point so we headed over to try Starring Rolls. I had read so much about this place that I thought we really should give it a try. Too bad it was a mad house and there was no seating available. Plenty of squatters just hanging around with no food and taking up a table that we could have used.:furious: Okay, rant over.

We grabbed a couple of sandwiches and everyone got a cupcake! And we headed up the road to the other counter service restaurants and grabbed an open air seat under a fan. It was warm out at this point and my girls don't like eating outside, but this was the only place. We actually had a decent meal this way. These other places weren't open yet, so it was quiet and we were able to just chill under the fan.:cloud9: The food at Starring Rolls was pretty good. The sandwiches had stuff on them the girls didn't enjoy, but us adults loved them. The cupcakes on the other hand, were a hit!
And now I am going to gross you out with pics of my family eating their cupcakes....don't say I didn't warn you!:rotfl:

See? They really enjoyed them!:thumbsup2

So, after our refreshments, we realized we could book it over and get in to see Indiana Jones. We missed this in Jan so we wanted to try this time. We thought we were going to get crap seats, but because they were making everyone move in, we got front row on the far left! Not bad...except when the things were on fire, it was HOT!!

One pic just to show how close we were!

We were tired and hot at this point so we decided to take a break. We headed back to WBC...literally minutes up the road and went for a swim. I finally had a dismeet here by the pool! Shellody and her gang were hanging by the pool as well. I recognized her mom first from her past TR's and said hi. We talked for a while, and Shellody even thought to take a pic. If you're reading this, Shellody, I hope all is well and DH is on the mend!

I will leave you here...we headed back to DHS after the break...how did it go?

I understand! My oldest was never really into princesses much, I am loving how girly Rapunzel is!
I think Storybook Circus opened a few weeks before we got there? I could be wrong, though. It's really fun and bright back there!
There was a time when Ferb didn't play along. We had some tough times and I think he realized how much fun he was missing. If you check out my latest post from DHS, you'll see just how far he has come!

I'm in the City, not to far from Mississippi Mudds.

What a cute meet with Merida! From the pictures, it looks like your girls really enjoyed that!

Love the Anniversary hats at WCC!!! :rotfl: That is too great. It's good to see they still have the antics there. I remember being nervous about eating there on a trip with my parents as a teen, but it was a really fun meal.

Wow, Ferb does not look like he is having fun on that starspeeder AT ALL! :rotfl2:

Mmmm, cupcakes from Starring Rolls...but you forgot the most important part. Which ones did you try?!

Hopping on board. We went in early Oct, and while Sandy was just being born, it rained a good portion of the trip. We even bought one of the poncho Mickey antenna toppers to commemorate it!

I can totally see it as completely embarrassing at a teen, but I think the CM's there do a pretty good job of adjusting to all ages! Rapunzel was only 4 the first time we went and we didn't realize how much the noise of WDW in general would upset her. It was almost our last day and our waiter made her cry...he felt so bad he brought her and the other two girls at our table the tinkerbell cups on the house. It ended up being the first time she really seemed to enjoy herself all week!

Ha! That pic on the speeder is a classic, no?!

:welcome: So glad to see you here!!! Yeah, Sandy was soooo huge!! I couldn't believe how many people got affected by that horrible storm. The weather turns soon in this TR.

I'm in your 'hood' but we're up on the hill by 2 Mile Creek. Hopefully only for 1 more month though-waiting on our closing date!

Freaking out yet?:hyper: I hear that closing dates in NY aren't set in stone. Is that right?
Where in Amherst are you moving to?

I tried starring rolls for the first time this trip and we just got a cupcake, but WOW.....YUMMY. We did try to get a sandwich later but we came to it not long after it had closed for the day, which btw is way too early.

I know...yummy cupcakes, yummy sandwiches...but weird hours and not enough seating. Oh well...gonna have to plan better next time.

Just a short real life update...

I have been on vacation since New Year's Day. Unfortunately, that vacation is coming to an end tonight.:sad2: I have to go back to my midnight schedule tonight and will be returning to my usual update format of Wed and Thur. Although, Rapunzel and Stitch will be staying at my cousin's this weekend, so I may sneak a quick post in Sat.....hmmmmm.....

Anyways, it's been a very relaxing 9 days off from work. We got some organizing done, had a visit with my Brother in law..that was fun..:rolleyes1. But mostly, I was able to rest, sleep and recharge my batteries. I am now ready to take on 2013!:yay: Of course, having a WDW/DCL vacation to look forward to this year is helping with that!;)

Whoa I missed a lot!

First of I've never been to RD at MK either, but I love the story of the confetti throwing CM. I would have loved that!

I'm glad the Merida M&G went well, I got a little concerned when you mentioned hand written FP! Your pictures are great, I'm sure that will be one of the experiences they remember for a long time if not ever.

I really need a little girl in my life... I miss all the princess themed things too!

It is sad Main Street Bakery is changing, don't get me wrong I love Starbucks and I was all excited until I saw that part of the announcement.

I loved your storybook circus pics, when we were there the only Dumbo and the Barnstromer were open. It's nice to see all the new things.

I love all your WCC pics! We were supposed to eat there last trip but had to cancel much to my disappointment. Maybe next time! I can't show DH your pics though he is pretty shy and being the center of attention is really not his thing. So he might quickly say no to eating here.

I know you said you didn't take a lot of food pics this trip but what did you eat at Starring Rolls? We didn't make here last trip either, it closes very early for some reason. :confused3

I wish I had a DW/DCL vacation to look forward to this year! But I have a Carnival cruise in October so I can't complain too much. Happy 2013!

I just love how much this guy was enjoying his job. I would like to think I would be like that if I worked in WDW!

Merida was great and really the girls were so happy. I think we are pretty lucky with our girls because we get the best of both worlds, Stitch loves Pirates, Jack Skellington, and Stitch and Rapunzel has always loved the princesses!

WCC isn't for the faint of heart, that's for sure! :rotfl: We obviously have lots of fun there, but a shy person would probably be so stressed out wondering if they were going to be singled out...I can't imagine them enjoying themselves. Even if the CM sees not to do anything, I think they would be worried the whole time. And really, there are so many great restaurants all over WDW that this one wouldn't be so bad to skip.

I am sorry to say, I have no idea what we ate....a couple of sandwiches and some really sweet cupcakes. I know, I know....epic fail.:faint:

You have to let us all know how the Carnival cruise goes. I have wondered, since we have only done one and it was DCL, how they really compare. So, you've done the 2 night and now you will be on Carnival, hard to compare with only a 2 night, but still. And thanks, Happy 2013 to you!! May your year be full of...pixiedust:

I've done a 3 night on DCL too in 2009 plus I've sailed with NCL 3 times and RCCL once. Carnival seems to get mixed reviews from people so I'm not sure what to expect!

I hate to sound totally lame, but your girls are just turning into such beauties! They always were cute, but now they are really coming into themselves. It's fun to watch them grow up! I love, love, love WCC! We are planning to go again on our next trip. Have you ever been to Hoop De Doo? I've watched some YouTube videos and it looks so fun!!! We are also planning on that one.
