Julie, I'm enjoying your post. Please keep it coming. I am shocked that your kids ate in the dining room alone. My kids never would have done that. Good for yours!!!!!! Too bad about the Magic's condition. Oh oh Heidi's here. More later......

Ok, she's gone.

Julie, it surprises me that there were quite a few things wrong. It's just not Disney to let things slide whether or not a new ship is coming out, it's crazy. Trying to play "catch up" on rust isn't easy. On our HAL ship we had rust around the porthole and it was nasty but didn't break the cruise for us. Just an eyesore. It was an older ship built in the early 90's. I hope they get it together. You aren't the only one that noticed it.

I'm going to go now and request your server. Cross your fingers.

We received a post card in the mail yesterday from DCL to take a more extensive survey than the one you fill out on the ship. We will let them know about all the problems that were noticed.

The seas were the calmest this cruise than I think we have ever had. It was amazing. We did not like deck 2 and don't wish to sail that deck again. Our stateroom hostess was the worst we have ever had and our servers were not the worst, but not the best. Overall it was a great cruise, but again, it was clouded by the stupid car. I had 2 days where I didn't feel well. One from something I ate (probably the crab claw at Palo brunch) and the other I drank too much the night before. It was our anniversary and the wine we ordered at Palo was so good we got a second bottle. The Western isn't my favorite because you lose a sea day and we love sea days!

Jerry priced the Fantasy for August 2012 since that is as far as it goes and Yikes! Unless the price comes way down, it is not going to happen. We are waiting to see what the Magic does. We are guessing the Med again in the summer of 2012 and then who knows. We are hoping for special cruises like 10 day cruises.

I got my schedule for the month and I got the 3 Fridays I requested. For once, I am not working the day after Thanksgiving. I always work that day and after last year, said I wasn't going to this year. I am not going shopping either.

Jeanne: Have fun with Zoe in WDW!!!!

Good Morning
Another busy day so I am going to have to make this quick. Had such a good time on Halloween. Jason and Michelle had over 400 trick or treaters. I have never seen anything like it except on tv! It was nice enough the kids were out with out coats!! Another  for Colorado. Jason showed me a picture of one of their neighbors houses last year. They had a snow storm so they rolled a huge snowball and hollowed out the inside cut out a pumpkin face and put a coleman latern in it so it glowed. It was really cute. But enough snow to make this 4' pumpkin!:scared1:

I have so much to do before we leave. I am having a Pampered Chef party on Thursday. Still have to pack and shop. Get the Christmas stuff up and get ready for a Christmas party as soon as we get back. I will be working like crazy from now until we leave!!

The cruise sounds SO fun. I must admit I am a little jealous about the Jan cruise Sandy and Heidi are going on. I had the chance to book but decided not to since is was such a short cruise. :sad2:

Kind of bummed we are not doing the gift exchange this year. :guilty:

Better get back to work.

Sandy, our server's name was Rexson Rodrigues from India. If you get him, you won't be disappointed. The "work" that needed to be done, didn't ruin the cruise for us. We just noticed it more because we have seen the ship at it's finest. But like I said, they were trying to get back to the "yellow jumpsuit work" by the end of the cruise. PLUS, we had about 20-30 NEW crew members join when we set sail. They were on the deck with the staff pool, all smiles and stuff and all I could do was think about what Darren said about how hard it was, and thought you are smiling and laughing now.... just wait! LOL!!!! They held PUB NIGHT at Rockin Bar instead of Diversions.... like the atmosphere of Diversions better, but I can understand why they couldn't since more and more people come to it and they needed a larger room. BUT still loved the sunshine and we couldn't have asked for better weather!!! Castaway Cay improvements were very nice. I think Heidi and Chris will love the water slides! I know the kids did and they had me go on it and I must say that I enjoyed it too! There were lots of adults going on them. It's just not for the kids only. Didn't make it over to the adult beach, but the "Regular family beach" didn't seem as crowded as it had in the past with lots of kids ALL OVER... it was very nice!!!

Heidi and Sandy....:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1:drinking1... no REALLY!!!!!!:rolleyes1 ( and that is just the first 2 days of the cruise! LOL)

Well, gotta run. Taking the kids for their teeth cleaning. They have today off since it's election day and they vote in the schools and the higher ups say the schools aren't secure, so that is why they have off. Have a great day! Will check back in later!

Julie, I asked our TA for your server. We shall see. I'm with you, I don't let things like rust ruin a cruise. It's just hard to see it going downhill. Hopefully, the yellow suits will bring it back up to par.

Barb, wow, that snow pumpkin idea was cool. I can't imagine handing out all that candy. How does the neighborhood handle sooooo many????

Denine, too much alcohol can upset one's system for sure. I know at all inclusive resorts that people complain that the food made them sick but they forget they are drinking more alcohol, out in the sun and not drinking water. Too bad people believe the reviews rather than realize their are other factors out there. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE deck 2. LOVE IT. We only ask for deck two now and will be on deck 2 on the Dream. Sorry you didn't like it. We are always forward so that could be the difference. I would love it if they would bring out the special cruises like they did before. One of my favorites was the 10 day Southern Caribbean.

Stacey headed out for their month vacation only to turn around and come back home today. The truck's alternator was acting up but Richard got it fixed and now they are on their way again. Didn't start off all the great. One of the cat's pooped on her in the truck, too.

Julie and Denine, last September I was shocked on how many blue jeans were in the dining rooms. I actually asked a head waiter about it and he said that they didn't like it but don't say anything. Now the rules state just no shorts. How many jeans did you see? Did you wear them on casual nights? I like jeans but I do want to follow the rules. What's your opinion? If I would wear jeans, I would pair it with a nice shirt.

Julie - I am loving your review. Too bad you couldn't find Ernan. I hope to find a special connection with a pool server and bartender on the Dream! That totally makes our cruise. I hope we can get your server on the Dream. I cannot wait to try out the water slides on CC, it should be so much fun. I like the adult beach but it is so shallow that I like to go to the very end of the adult beach now, not many kids there either.

Barb - that is so cool about the snow pumpkin last year. Holy cow that is a lot of kids to have come by for trick or treating. How much candy did they buy?

Denine -Yay for not working the day after Thanksgiving. I am still waiting to see if I get it off. We priced the Fantasy for June with the girls and it was quite pricey!

Heidi, what are your thoughts on jeans in the dining room?:confused3 I have my black capris I could wear, too. I just sent DCL an email just to see what their thinking of jeans is.

Well, I'm fed up with ME! I HATE me, again. I am going back to WW (I know.....again) and I am having Ted go, too. I think he needs to realize that it takes more than exercise to lose. I'm proud of Ted for going. I think we BOTH need the accountablity. We start tonight. I have always weighed in at WW in the morning so it will be a big shock:scared1: to weigh in at night plus my gain over the last couple of months but I HAVE TO DO IT.

Jerry and I thought that people were actually dressed better this cruise. You will always have your slobs, but since DCL won't do anything, I can't either. At least I am not at the same table. Personally, no jeans, but you do what you want. For us, the service wasn't up to par this cruise. We were at guest services more this cruise than in all other's combined. Between the washers not working and our stateroom hostess... I know they will get the ship back to ship shape, but I know it really turned some people off on DCL.

Kaleigh had 2 teeth pulled yesterday. She was a real trooper even though she was scared.

Sandy: We have to get back to WW too. I finally went grocery shopping last night while Kaleigh was at PSR.

Mom - How did the WW meeting go? My personal feeling on jeans at dinner is a no, but then again I am coming from back in the old cruising days where it was not allowed. On our last cruise with the girls, Chris did wear jeans one night because he kept seeing everyone else wearing them. I guess for the shorter cruises it doesn't bother me as much because it is less formal I feel. But being on a brand new ship I will attempt to make Chris wear khaki's, lol! I think the days on the 2nd cruise that we are not at Palo or Remy's I will let Chris wear jeans.

Here is what DCL said:
Dining attire varies by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general,
most meals are "Cruise Casual"-- jeans, khakis and capris are permitted;
however, we ask that Guests refrain from wearing shorts, swimwear or
tank tops in the dining rooms.

At this time, the recommended attire for your each night of your cruise
itinerary has not been determined. Please check back with us closer to
your sail date and we should have this information to share with you.

I am old school, too, with the idea of blue jeans but if they have become more the norm on DCL I guess I could change my attitude. We got spoiled on the Alaska cruise. We never ate in the Main Dining Room. We only ate in the buffet since they serve the same food. We loved the freedom. So......we ate in blue jeans every night and LOVED it. :)

WW went real good. Ted was the hit of the evening. He told the lady that registered him that I made him and made several wise cracks. They gave it right back to him. Had a ton of laughs. That's good cuz he will go back. Plus there were several men. (phew)

Did I tell you that I went in yesterday morning just to see what I weighed? I was worried because I always went in the morning and you weigh less then. In the afternoon you usually weigh about 4 more pounds due to eating and drinking. Plus the last time I weighed in I was wearing shorts and a summer top. I just didn't want the huge shock. So when I finally weighed in last night, I LOST a pound from the morning. CRAZY!!!! They couldn't even explain it. I ate what I normally do throughout the day.

Hey Heidi, just wanted you to know that I got the Epilepsy Awareness ribbon that I had printed. They turned out great. If you want to stop by I will give you some. I ordered 100 so I have a few to hand out.

If anyone here is interested in them I can send them. They are the satin ribbon type that "fold" into the awareness style and say Epilepsy Awareness. You wear them on your shirts.

Happy Thursday.

I go back to work tomorrow after being off for more than a month. It will be weird.

Trying to get back to normal here. It has been busy all week. Jerry has a meeting tonight at church about Kaleigh's first communion, but Kaleigh and I aren't going.

Tomorrow night Kaleigh has her theater workshop. She missed the first one last Friday.

The TM has actually been easy this week. I am reading a really good book which takes my mind off the walking. It is "The Client". I think it is by John Grisham. I can't remember.

While we were at WDW, we ate lunch in France and got to see Remy. Jerry and I also ate dinner at Narcoossee's for the first time. It was really nice. Kaleigh went to the Neverland Club.

Silly me, I forgot to post. I've been busy making ribbons, doing laundry, changing sheets and just plain messing around on the computer.

Denine, Ted walked on the eliptical last night and watched Survivor. I don't know how you can walk and read at the same time.

Sandy, I did laundry today too! The bed was washed including the comforter and blanket. I think the ribbons are a great idea!!!! I wish I had one of the wreaths you guys made too! You guys did AWESOME!

I have to agree with Denine about how people were dressed on the Magic. I was VERY surprised to see how many people actually dressed VERY NICELY at all dinner seatings. Formal night was very nice. The pirate night was the only night you saw t shirts and some jeans. But other than that, most people were in dresses, capris, dockers, skirts, just very nice. I'm gonna post a picture on facebook of us on formal night with Mickey Mouse (if I can do it right!)

Well, gonna run! Have a great night!

Hello, hello. Not sure what today will bring. Maybe a Heidi day, maybe not.

Julie, I want to see that formal picture!

TGIF!!!

It is chilly and gloomy today, a bit of the white stuff in the air a bit ago.

Went back to work today. Same old, same old.

Just can't believe Thanksgiving is in 3 weeks!

I finally sold my Dad's motorhome:cool1: It was a big relief and sad at the same time. We also had another yard sale today although quite cold. Made about $300 so not bad.

Paul finally got his car back yesterday $9,800 was the final amount for repairs. He is glad to be out of the rental.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.
