Ted's out shoveling and I am warm and cozy. I'm not helping today since my back has been acting up for a couple of weeks now. I feel guilty.

Sandy: Shoveling???????

Just trying to get some school in before going this morning. It was VERY crowded last night. Only got to speak to Julie for a minute. Hopefully will get to talk to her more today.

Denine - How did Julie look? Is she doing okay? How is the rest of the family doing?

I am so proud of myself, they changed my hours at work so I decided to start working out before work. I have to get up 15 minutes earlier to do it, but I have done it 4 days in a row this week! For me, it takes a lot less motivation for me to go before work. I hope eventually it will become a routine and not so hard to wake up at 4:30!

Way to go Heidi! I am proud of you!

Denine, it was sticking to the driveway. Not inches but enough to shovel.

Hey everyone!

The funeral service was very nice. The ministers did a really good job. Anna Marie gave a nice eulogy about her grandpa and so did Julie's brother.
Everyone looked good and are holding up well. Julie's dad went through so much in the past few weeks, not to mention years, that they are happy he is no longer suffering although they will all miss him very much. They had some nice pastries after the service and all the kids got to run around and play.
Julie appreciates all your support. She has obviously been very busy.
Makenzie has a soccer game this evening and the kids have a Halloween dance at school tomorrow evening.

We are hoping to go out Saturday evening, just the 4 of us.

Kaleigh is down playing with her friends.

We still have to finish school which means going to get her soon.

I work tomorrow.

Heidi: Good for you! I have been riding the recumbent bike that we have. It wears out your legs!

Barb: How are you feeling?

Denine, thank you for stopping by to tell us about the funeral. It HONESTLY has been in my mind all day long. While it is terribly hard for all of them, I am glad to hear that they realize that he is in a better place. Bless his heart. He has had it bad for quite awhile that is for sure. I am also glad that Julie is staying busy with the kids. It helps to keep her mind off everything. I just wish I could give her a hug.

No Barb, still?? I sure wish she would check in!

Susan, don't you go and leave us again! We want to hear from you.

We are meeting Heidi and Chris to make plans for the trip tonight. I think we need to choose our tour company because it is only 2 1/2 months away. Sad part is that the pools will be cold in January as Mexico doesn't heat their pools. It was great when we were there in March. The pools were cold in Dec with Bonnie. Must be a fine line.

The sun came out after 11 this morning. It is cool and crisp but beautiful.

Good Morning
Checking in. I am still kicking. Went to see the doctor on Wednesday for a check up. I have been feeling so much better. I was able to stay out of bed all day Tuesday for the first time in over a week. I thought she would tell me how quickly I was recovering instead I heard "You are still really sick". I was really down. She said NO HOUSEWORK! I would swear my Mom called her! She didn't even ask me first if I was doing anything. Got the same lecture from my Mom earlier that morning.

I do have this really cool new voice. Not a cold voice just kind of a deeper raspy one. Bob thinks I sounds like Debra Winger Hope I get to keep the voice maybe I can sing too!!

I am on short term right now. Never really been on short term. kind of weird waking up in the morning and not feeling guilty about not going to work. I still make my "To Do" list everyday but there is not nearly as much on it cuz I dont want to get into trouble again. I did shampoo the carpet upstairs and clean my room super good yesterday. paid for it last night when I could barely breath. I go for another chest X-ray on Monday.

Denine-The funeral sounds really nice. Julie is lucky to have such a great friend as you. I pray she finds peace through this difficult time. Makes me want to hug my Dad right now.

Sandy-How are the kids doing? The trip sounds fun!

Heidi-Getting up at 4:30 NEVER gets any easier. Heehee sorry had to throw that in. Where are you working out at? I am looking forward to getting back to water aerobics. It is hard having to stay away. Darn pneumonia but cool new voice!!

Barb, you really crack me up over your voice! :lmao: Only you! BUT, I am extremely mad at you. Why :confused3in the world would you clean your room and steam clean the carpet while you have PNEUMONIA????? Good grief, lady!! I'm glad that you are on short term. I bet that set your mind at ease.

Ted is going to the doctor today. He had a cold the last couple of weeks and today woke with his chest hurting. I worry about a heart attack like his brother but then I think H1N1 like Barb. Hopefully, it's just from coughing. Just bam there it was and I heard H1N1 can do that. He never willingly goes to a doctor so that has me a tad worried as well.

Got our new computer today and a new printer. All at the expense of Best Buy.

Barb: This is your NURSE speaking. Do not do ANY housework! Do you want to end up in the hospital??????????????????????? Glad to hear you are feeling better though.

Sandy: How is Ted?

Heidi: Enjoy planning your trip!

Work was awful today. Sometimes you feel like walking and not going back! And, it has nothing to do with the residents!

So glad it is the weekend!

Susan: How is your dad? How are you?

Ted is ok. Not real sure why but the doctor truly feels it is due to the coughing. The EKG came back fine. Put him on a prescription anti inflammatory. Phew, I feel better!

Heidi, got your txt about the blanket.

Denine, I sure understand about the walking at work. I had that luxury back at the courts knowing the DA was trying to get me for years. Johnny on the spot quiting feels good!

Hi everyone. I am around. Just been busy with more of the same...

Paul left Tuesday to go to Virginia Beach and the Maryland. His mom had chest pains again and is in the hospital. No heart attack this time but they did some more tests and now they are planning to do the by-pass on Monday. Paul is planning to drive to Myrtle Beach from Maryland on Sunday.

My dad is still the same. No energy, no color. He feels ok but the next chemo is on Nov 4 and the bone scan in Nov 10.

I have been thinking about Julie so much this week. Julie, Love You and wish I could give you a big  in person. Oh yeah!!! I just found out that Turner has a hockey tournament in CLEVELAND Dec. 4-6. I want to see you then and then I can deliver my hugs!!!! Denine, I want to see you too!!! I'll get more details about where later and will let you guys know. Wonde what flights are like from Colorado to Ohio that time of year?????????????? hint-hint-hint

BARB - Are you out of your mind??????????? No more housework!! There's plenty to do on Facebook instead!!!:thumbsup2

Sandy and Heidi - I am so jealous of you guys and your Mexico trip. I wish I could get away like that. Florida seems like so long ago!!

Turner got his first quarter report card and he made honors!!!!! I am so pround of him with everything that has been going on around here and his late hockey schedule.:cool1:

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Love you guys!

Good Afternoon
Checking in. Went out today with Bob now I am ready for a nap. Soooo annoying to not be able to function. I can't tell if I am getting better or not. I dont feel any different still can tell my lungs and not working right but it does not hurt. I had a sneezing fit today. My sneezes are so shallow not sure what that means.

I am hearing voices in my head about my housework. :lmao: No more. Well not much anyway. I really dont last long anyway and my farms look great.

Susan- Glad to see you posting. I have been thinking about Julie a lot lately. I feel so bad for her right now. When you see her will you please give her a hug for me too? You hang in there too. Here is one for you:hug:

Glad Ted is ok.

Thanks for caring you guys. Don't know what I would do without all of you. :grouphug:

So cold today!!!!!!

We did not get together with Julie. Brooke is sick, so we are going to try for a couple of weeks from now.

We did go out to Macaroni Grill. We hadn't been there in a long time. A lot of new stuff on the menu. So much looked yummy.

Got the house cleaned and picked up.

Congrats Turner!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaleigh just finished her 1st quarter and is getting an A in everything.

Can't wait to see Susan in December!

Steiner was having a good sale, buy 2 get 1 free, so I bit the bullet and spent some money. The stuff is really good and my face isn't red like it used to be. In all honesty, this stuff is the only stuff that has taken the red out of my face and doesn't irritate it. Too bad it has to cost so much.

Sandy: Does Ted maybe have some pleurisy? I had that a few years ago with a bad case of bronchitis and it was awful. It was worse than the bronchitis! The anti-inflammatory should help.

Kaleigh has her pediatric ENT appointment on Monday.

Barb: It is going to take a long time to feel up to snuff. I know how long it took me after I had pneumonia a number of years ago and it wasn't double lobe. Remember, you were also run down with the flu too. Just rest and eat well and it will come back.

Sandy: Sometimes I wish I didn't have to work, but other times I really enjoy my job. I work with a bunch of women. Enough said!

We may go to Halloweekend at Cedar Point tomorrow. We will see how cold it is.

Barb - You are one crazy lady, only you would be steam cleaning the carpets with pneumonia. Girl, you need to take care of yourself. We don't need to be visiting you in the hospital. Follow nurse Denine's orders! Let us know how Monday goes. Thinking of you.

Julie - You haven't left my mind, I hope you are doing okay. I am thinking of you and your family constantly. I wish there was more I could do for you.

Denine - thanks so much for reporting back about the funeral. I am glad it was a nice service. Too bad you didn't get to go to dinner with them.

Susan - Congrats to Turner, Awesome job on honors and doing all the travel with hockey. What a great kid. Sorry your dad isn't improving. I pray his next tests will show improvement. Lots of hugs to you. Love your hint about the airfare to Ohio, maybe Southwest will have an amazing deal at that time!

Today it is suppose to snow 1-4 inches and then on Wednesday more snow. I guess winter has hit CO early!

Everyone take care of themselves. Lots of love and hugs to everyone.

Susan, prayers and pixie dust for your dad's next bone scan. Prayers and pixie dust for Paul's mom. You guys really have it so bad right now. I pray everything gets better for everyone soon! Now, there's Turner. :cool1::thumbsup2:banana::woohoo::yay:Congrats on the Honors. Exellent job!!

Barb, is Jaymee on her way back to Louis? I know she was delayed. Ummmm, I think your body is telling you to S-L-O-W down and rest. That is why you are still dragging. Shallow sneezing?:confused3

Denine, did you make it to Cedar's Point? Good report card for Kaleigh as well!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: The doctor did say that Ted could have Pleurisy. He had a few ideas. Ted is doing absoutely fine right now. Those pills did wonders....and also the heat treatments on his chest.

We are in for another snow storm today. Looking like more accumulative snow this time around. We are expecting another storm on Wed and that is suppose to be a bit more than today. Looks like we are on track for about every three days or so:rolleyes: I guess we are making up for last years dry and warm winter.

It's official. Winter is here. :sad2::rolleyes: Ted closed up the evaporative cooler and is now getting the snow blower ready (for me, lol)

This was a hard pill to swallow, as seen on 60 Minutes:

More Americans are suffering from epilepsy than Parkinson's, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis combined. Katie Couric previews her report on a disease that may not be getting the attention it deserves.

It also said that there are more deaths from epilepsy than breast cancer.

WHY OH WHY do they not do more research? Why is it never mentioned like the others? WHY?

Update on Paul's Mom:
She had a small sore on her lower leg that is now infected and it looks like the infection may have spread to her hip. By-pass for tomorrow is cancelled. No idea when it will be rescheduled.

Sandy - I understand your frustration. Just keep getting the word out and hope more research is done.

Love you guys.
