Yikes Sandy, keep the necklace for yourself! Every mom loves pictures of thier kids! I thought Bonnie gave you the best idea ever. Your hygenist gave you a very nice gift because A. It was so much cheaper for her to give you the whitening then it would have been for you to buy on your own,and B. Because she knows she could never find a sweeter caregiver, and knows how lucky she is. It's a 'thank you'. Accept it. You don't have to try and match it's street value. You don't own a jewelry store.
You love her kids! OK, that's my two cents. Either way, she will no doubt love the necklace as well (but really, kiddo pictures done when the Mom wasn't there and they look all happy and all, ugh, just gets me all emotional.) Ughh, sometimes you're just SO NICE!

Ben is driving me nuts. He's in the hospital tonight for
sore chest muscles! He referred to it as 'chest pain' to the doctor's office when calling to make an appointment and they told him to go to the ER who of course had to cover their butts by admitting him, even though the blood work and EKG show that he did not have a heart attack, and now he gets a full cardio work-up. Finally the nurse-practitioner in charge of him pokes him in the chest and says "is that where it hurts?" and he says yes, she notes that he was digging up a tree the day before and says, "well, you have sore muscles between your ribs which also explains why it hurts to breath. But, by the end of tomorrow and the battery of tests and scans, you will know very well what condition your heart is in"
Well, I guess we'll be getting our money's worth from this ER visit. He's at a good age for a full baseline work-up anyhow, I suppose. I just hate that he's admitted overnight, people get sick and die from things they didn't even walk in with, in hospitals. I think I'll wrap and deliver a little gift for him, and it will be
