Oct. 16-23, 2010 - Bring Back the Magic

Hello all!
Just wanted to introduce myself and family. We booked this trip well over a year ago and can't believe it's almost here! My name is Meghan and my husband is Joe. We have a 5 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. We will also be traveling with my parents. We have cruised the Wonder in 2003 and 2008 but this is our first 7 day on the Magic. Not much more to add, but just wanted to introduce ourselves and say how much these boards have helped us prepare and how excited we are!

Hi again.

Im Ron, my fiance is Danielle, and our 2 kids, 11 and 9. Feel free to join in the growing excitement

To all of us going to Grills.

I called Grills the other day, and basically was told to call back on the 15th. Im going to call again tom to make sure that the woman I talked to understood that we are a group of almost 30. Worst case scenario, since Dani and I will be at the port at around 10am the latest, well drive over and talk to them in person.

Ill use the Disney group to keep things simple. (1 less thing for me to forget)

Is there a meet planned once we're onboard? On the previous cruises I've been on we've met at Promenade Lounge around 3:00 pm, on our 1st day

Hi, I'm Margo, my husband is Pat. This will be our first cruise, and we are bringing along our two youngest children. Blake is turning 17 tomorrow (happy birthday!) and Duncan is 12.

We are Disney fanatics and have been to WDW 10 times, and DL 5 times. We rarely vacation anywhere else (and when we do it's usually to see family). We've been DVC members since 1997 and love it.

We're really looking forward to having fun on this cruise, but at the same time I am just a little bit worried. Blake and Duncan both have Asperger's, a form of high-functioning autism. I just hope that this cruise can be all the fun for them that we're hoping it can be. We've planned to bring along stuff they can do in the room, just in case the pre-teen/teen areas prove to be too much for them at times.

Pat and I are both into Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts, and he works at Intel. I love to scrapbook, crochet, and sew, and I work at Walgreens. The boys are "into" computer games and the internet, and video games--we have trouble getting them into anything else. :)

I'm going to try to get through this whole thread, but I'm not making any promises as I have a full-time job and only discovered this thread 2 weeks before we go! LOL I've already learned a lot about door decorating, the fuel surcharge on-board credit and what you can order from room service, from this board! I need to find out if people dress up for Pirate Night (I'm working on simple pirate costumes for all of us), and anything else I can learn ahead of time! Thanks for this thread and all the others!

I think this is a great idea! We've met here before for other cruises and it's a great spot, a little out of the way and we can probably lasso a CM to take a group picture.

What does everybody else think?

For the people arriving at the port early (before boarding) we will find a good spot to meet. Probably over by the seating area on the right side of the terminal. Ron has already volunteered to lead a tour/Hidden Mickey hunt.

We are glad you found us JUST IN TIME!!:banana::banana:

I am Deb, keeper of the roll call and am sailing with family and friends. This will be my first Disney cruise, so am not able to speak to your question. But, I'm sure your boys will have a wonderful time. Disney is prepared to take care of/entertain children with unique needs. I'm sure if you search the regular cruise board, you can find several threads that will help you with the information you seek.

I will add you to the roll call on page 1 :thumbsup2

In 3 weeks we will be having a relaxing sea day.

Hit the lounge chairs by the quiet cove pool

We are up for a meet n greet. Since we, and I am sure many others, who have been posting won't be staying at the port this would be the only chance to meet everyone.
