OK...I love snow but this is getting crazy. I don't know what to do with it...The piles are starting to fall back onto the sidewalk and they just said another big surge is expected around 10:00.

3 weeks ago today we were cruising in the Caribbean...and now we are looking at this.

That's amazing isn't it. Just close your eye and try to imagine the warm sun!!!!

Wow, Christmas is almost here

All the cookies are baked, presents wrapped, Christmas tree bought (we'll put it up and decorate it tomorrow, we left it outside under shelter for a bit so that the snow gets a chance to fall off outside and not in our living room ), all food for the holidays bought (we will have lots of guests), favourite Christmas movies watched (do you also have movies you simply have to watch every Christmastime? For us it's National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Muppets Christmas Carol and Love Actually) ... Have I forgotten anything? I hope not!

So, should I not be online anymore before the big day (which I will try to be, though) I wish everyone a very happy Christmas, or as we say in Germany, "Frohe Weihnachten"! (We celebrate on the evening of the 24th here in Germany - what's it like in the States, is it the same or do you celebrate on the 25th like the people in the UK?)

When I was growing up we celebrated on Christmas Eve . . .which makes sense to me now (after nearly 50 years ) because my grandfather was from Germany! I was the youngest and I guess it never occured to me "why" . . .it's just the way it was. Christmas Day was always boring because nothing was going on Thank you Annika for clearing that up for me

Now, we have so much family that we celebrate both Eve and Day. Gotta include everyone. Dinner at brother-in-law's on Christmas Eve and Dinner at our house on Christmas Day. Presents opened BOTH days! whew

I have thought about getting one of these for various projects, and scrapbooking esp. as DD gets older, I wish I knew more about them.

My local scrapbooking store offers classes where you can learn about the machines before you buy them. Pretty cool stuff!

Just thought I'd wish everyone Happy Holidays. Just got back from the "World" about a week ago and counting down the days till the cruise.

I just booked our night before stay at the Cape Canaveral Radisson. One more thing checked off!

That's funny - we just booked our night before the cruise at the Radisson too. Never been there before but has some good reviews and the pool looks great!
