Grand Californian Super Thread

I'm just remembering now that I had the craziest sticker shock at the Craftsman Grill counter service in GCH. I had finished at the pool, walked in, looked up at the prices and was like $27 for a burger? $27 for a quesadilla? Are you kidding me?

I walked out and was like.. I'll just go into the park. They have food for half the price.

My friends were like are you crazy? In your swim trunks? I was like yes.. just take my towel with you back to the room. I'll be right back. 😂

There is no world where overpriced Disney theme park food next door is that much cheaper than what they're serving up at the hotel counter service, good as it may be.

I get it. I'll point out though that although it is pricey, the burger is not the same caliber compared to what you would get at Smokejumpers. Other comparisons to note: A 16" pizza is $29 at Craftsman Grill and $54 at Boardwalk Pizza. Nachos are the same price at Lamplight Lounge Boardwalk Dining and Craftsman Grill. The Craftsman Grill portion is significantly larger and easily feeds 3-4 people for $25.

The food in the park in no way compares to the food at the craftsman’s lounge. Like it’s not even remotely close. They no longer serve it from what I hear, but when we stayed at the GCH a couple of years ago the Wagyu burger was among the best tasting burgers I’ve ever had from anywhere.

Is Craftsman's Lounge the same as Craftsman's Grill? I'm talking about the place with the grab & go items that also has a counter service near the pool. Regardless, add a soda to anything on that menu and you're looking at having a $35 lunch from a Disney hotel counter service. I'm glad the food is great but there are so many options just steps away for cheaper.

Yea! They share a kitchen, and most of the food is the same. :D

If the food wasn’t as great as we experienced we definitely would have been turned off by the price (and the fact the soda/ice machine was down).
