Sorry(again) that I haven't been around much. We have just had so much going on lately. In fact, we cancelled our cruise so we could use our deposit for a WDW trip. We may rebook it at a later date but haven't completely decided yet.:confused3 I have really enjoyed getting to know you all and really hope I will be back on this thread later.

so sorry to see you go!! I hope you will be able to join us later on! keeping fingers crossed for you :goodvibes

hello everyone! wow I can't believe our summer vacation is almost over:banana: LOL I am so ready for the boys to go back to school!
I'll be around more when they do LOL

I read this on Allears today and thought I would share it with you all

Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas, will be undergoing enhancements that will provide guests with more water-based family-fun, additional conveniences and "a slice of beachside luxury." The additional island amenities, which include an expanded family beach area, the new Pelican Plunge feature slide, upgraded water play areas, and new beach cabanas, are scheduled to be complete by summer 2010, in time for special five-night cruises aboard the Disney Wonder with two stops at Castaway Cay, and the Disney Dream cruise ship, which starts sailing in early 2011.:thumbsup2

Thanks, Grumpy-Gramps! For the DCL Name Tag!

I spent my day customizing name tags, door magenets, and working on my Fish Extender project. (Yippie!) Oh - and watching DCL videos on You Tube.

My DW is obsessed with scap book projects, so I've enlisted her help in order to persuade her over to the *Magic* side of the force. DW wasn't as enthusiastic as me ... but now I think the Mouse may have gotten to her. YES!!!

To demonstrate the extent to which my obsession as grown ... let me explain that I have plans for adding battery powered Christmas lights and a mini sound recorder to my Fishy Extender ... DW calls it my "Fish Stretcher" ... HA!

Additionally, I've designed screen prints in Visio for my family DCL vacation T-Shirts and Name Tags ... SHhhhh! It's a surprise! ( I wonder if printing iron-on t-shirt transferrs will work? )

Each family member has their own "Theme," slogan, font and color scheme:
  • DD9 = Cinderella, "Princess of the Palace"
  • DD7 = Ariel, "Princess of the Sea"
  • DW = Jasmine, "Princess of the Castle"
  • DD = Buzz Lightyear, "Dad
of Tomorrow"

The door magnets are made from photos from our WDW trip last year. PLUS - I'm planning a few special suprises for some of YOU! Yes ... Fish Extender goodlies from Kentucky! Sorry, no bourbon.

OK - gotta get a grip. More than a whole year to wait!
Aarg, ye land-locked sea-lubbers! Confess yer confounded ways for resisting the call of the open waters!

JamesKY

here are a couple ideas.

Hey Randy, thanks for the link for this info on the 2011 itineraries. Really looking forward to knowing where Disney is going.:cool1::banana: We are already thinking about the next cruise after this one in 2010. (Just can't get enough of cruisin' with Disney!!!!)
Has anyone heard from kritter??? She made a comment about Cozumel being her least favorite port, and I wanted to read what she had to say. Kritter, if you are listening please inform us. Well, hope everyone has a good day today. Talk to ya'll again soon.:yay:

It's me ya'll. No really it is me.

Just thought all would enjoy a little reading about Castaway Cay. This expands some on what angiengary mentioned .
Go to disneycruisenews.com and click on the media tab in the center of the page. A very nice article discribing all of the new additions being done to Castaway Cay to be finished in the summer of 2010. There is even a short utube movie at the bottom of the page to watch. Check it out guys!!! They are really making Castaway Cay allot more fun!!!!!:cool1::banana::cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

David pulls up and stops his car.:car:
Knock, knock....................knock,knock,knock.......................David listens to hear if anyone is going to answer........................no one answers. David, the brave soul that he is, tries the door knob........it turns easly in his massive strong hands!!! David is not afraid, for he is strong and he is fearless. He pokes his massive head.............I mean he pokes his head inside as the door squeaks loudly and says, "Hello............... Helllllllllllllooooooooooo. Is anyone to home!!" "YOO HOO anybody." It's totally, I mean TOTALLY dark inside. Bats come a fly'n at him from all directions from inside. But he's not afraid............no David is not afraid. He reaches in to try and find a light switch to turn on a light inside. He slides his fingers up and down on the wall. Then he feels something crawling on his hand. It feels hairy and like it has 8 or maybe even 10 legs!!!!! Heck it might even have 14 or MORE legs on this big hairy creepy crawly thing!!!!:scared1::eek: Yikes I scared meself!!!
Hope ya'll have a GREAT day!!!!

Back home now... everything went well in Honolulu... my spouse did most of the arrangements for the service ... exhaustive work it was... I chipped in working on the thank you notes and program, as well as making the photo collage (mostly one and a half days before the service - in spite of being there 6 days before the service - it did not become apparent it was not being done by anyone else until then - sort of). At any rate, things went really well in the end. We saw so many whom we've known for ever it seems. I've been with my spouse for almost 26 years now - so along the way we've encountered most of her relatives time and again over the years... so seeing everyone was - nice - seriously NICE in many cases. My FIL seems to be doing OK with things - in spite of it all. He is a retired surgeon, and his kids are all surgeons, and thier spouses' all surgeons except a couple (my spouse, myself and one other - however I'm the only one who's NOT involved in healthcare)... so all of us were resigned to the idea that we'd lost our MIL a long time ago... that helped a bit now if you know what I mean. If it were a surprise, tragic loss then I think the general reaction among all would have been different somehow.

At any rate, it's done now - at least this stage of it. We're home now. On landing we diverted to grab late supper - met up with my Sis for a meal - she had been house sitting for us. In our absence we had a million ants invade it seems... oh well. That's the worst of it - so that's a good thing.

We hope all is well for your family this Labor day weekend. We're going to rest now and begin a gentle recovery from this....

I am sorry for the loss of your Mother in Law. Glad to hear you are home and can begin to relax and recover. Wishing a peaceful Labor Day weekend. :)

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Lador Day holiday.

I have a question for my fellow veteran Disney cruisers ou there. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise. And, we have never eaten breakfast in one of the main dining rooms. :confused3 I mean like you know, how can that be, right!?!? go figure!! We have always gone up to Top Siders for breakfast. Anyway, to my question. How do you dress for breakfast in the main dining rooms? Is it ok to were say nice shorts and say a T-shirt? (I was going to say short pants, but DW thought I would be sounding like some ol' person!!!):lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: So if any of you who have eaten breakfast in one of the main dining romms could gave us a little help it would be greatly appreciated!!!:worship::worship:
