Thank You all...
We've got our flight reservations ready... we're waiting for more info. It's been a long chronic process and we are essentially well into the final stage(s) of her condition.
However, we are getting some reports she may be stabilizing... so there is hope - but what remains is what her condition will be on recovery - if we achieve it.
The consensus is to hold in place for now ... but to have immediate flight arrangements ready.
So - I took my spouse shopping - and bought her a diamond sprinkled Michele watch.... < wink > ... to distract her a bit. The CSX-36 was on deep DEEP discount ... a little better than 2/3rds off the generally recognized "retail" price... and while I was at it ... I found a Technomarine gel watch... it was marked down from about $400 to ... (gulp) .... $50. I don't really NEED another watch.... (who does?) ... but I picked it up too. Then later I was wondering if it might have been really for a womans' wrist as the strap was near it's limit in fitting my wrist. So I've been searching the web for info on it... and for a moment (K) I thought it was a ladies watch. Than I found it was not - and confirmed with my spouse that "no way" could it be a ladies watch.
So yeah... it's a "unisex" watch. Either way...<steady silent grinnin' ... waiting for my "pun" to sink in.>.... the shopping distractions for the moment appear to have had the desired effect... for a few minutes/hour(s?) at least. Maybe my spouse will actually WEAR and USE this one. As the vast majority of nice things I get her get stashed away or locked up - and never see the light of day.
Of course, some would say I siimply have to take her more places where she CAN USE these nice things. To that I can only offer ... (sigh).....
So ... comic relief.... I have a garden PIPE connecting the fitting descending into the ground from the spigot that sprung a leak. Our pipes are so old that evidently they've corroded in the pipe WALL - and water was spurting out through a hole about 1-2mm in size. There really was a lot of water spraying out! SO I shut the main - and enquired with the hardware store plumbing people about how to best solve this. They recommended plumbers' epoxy-putty as the old pipes might prove difficult to get out to change. It's a twist off pipe with a hex flanged end on top.
Well... the pipe has pretty much failed again after my fix 2 days ago - but not as bad as without the putty-epoxy slowing the water flow. From tuesday when we left tto now when we got home it's gotten worse and needs replacing now. You suppose I can solder on a patch with lead??? That would let me sidestep replacing the pipe and risk disturbing the other pipes?
Ultimately, today... I'm going to try a huge monkey wrench on it - hoping I don't SNAP off the ipie half way up without loosening the pipe from the base - and I REALLY Hope I don't damage the OTHER pipes int he process. Otherwise I won't know where to start to fix the mess I will have created!
I wonder if youtube has any useful advice for my problem?
Alas, all that will have to wait until after the Brownie troop kitchen tour I've scheduled... (I'm in charge of this Brownie event).... This will entangle me from 1PM until 3PM... leaving less time to try a fix and call a plumber after I mess it up.
OK... enough of the long winded reply. Now you know why I mostly try to restrict myself to image and animation postings with little verbage. < wink >
If I am not on much it may be because I'm drenched with water or on my way to the airport and enroute. I'm being overly dramatic though... as all is going to turn out OK... right?
Again, thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.
