Gee...

We're out here in Kalifornia and we have 41 acres... < wink > ... through our HOME-owners' association. Only 400+ homes sharing 41 acers of green belts and so on ... and ONLY $45 a month association fees!

Had to chime in - my postage stamp of dirt is 11,000 sq feet. With things going the way they are - IE - our free spending politicians - it looks like our children can look forward to measuring their home land are in microns or maybe angstroms!!!

So - we've been traveling a bit lately. On our way home today from beautiful Visalia - I'm in the Marriott concierge lounge on thier FREE terminal about to step out for the long drive home. Kids are running amok here - buring off a few spare calories.

Hope everyones' well... we might have a bit of unhappiness here as my MIL is in ICU ... bad outlook unless we get lucky. We're preparing for urgent emergency travel to be at her side in Honolulu.

Sorry for that - I'm being sort of mixed, fickle and ambivulent I guess....

Thanks in advance for kind thoughts and prayers.

Tom, I hope that your MIL will make a full recovery!!! This must be a difficult time for everyone! :sad2:

We're thinking of you Captain! Best of luck

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know your "30 more minutes" routine...how many Dr. Peppers did you drink today

Okay all Im off. I have 6 minutes to get a coat of paint on my kitchen hardware and then get to bed.

Talk to you all tomorrow. Have a great Thursday.

Hey Boo....I don't know...I've got a birthday coming up, and then there is Father's Day next year...:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

How is the first week for the girls?

You know your DSIL, we can't book another cruise until this one is paid for completely. So we'll have to wait a little while. Oh well!

Tom-I'm hoping you get good news on your MIL's status.

kritter-hoping you get good weather for your cruise. ENJOY!

David that great that you already lost 20 lbs!!!!!!!! way to go :goodvibes

Thank ya, thank ya, thank ya!!!! I would still like to lose another 5 lbs. though. I wasn't really all that overweight, but did have a nice little middle spread going on. My clothes do fit better and.........................................
when I turn sides you can hardly see me any more!!!!!:lmao::cool1::rotfl2:

kritter, the our weatherman:cloud9: explained the disturbances out in the Atlantic, and that's what he called them, I don't think you will have any problems. If Disney does stick to their schedule you will get into some rain and maybe alittle ocean breeze. No major storms are brewing. The Caribbean has had a wind shear, (upper level wind in the atmosphere), going on this season that's been knocking down any storms trying to form. We all hope and wish you a great cruise. And, wishing we were joining you on that cruise!!! Have a great time, relax and enjoy yourself!!!:woohoo::thumbsup2

good afternoon everyone!!!
I'm trying to put some order back into this house today before we leave tomorrow!!!!!!!!! can't wait for school to start so I can do a huge cleanup in here!!!!
I'll be back on tonight, hope you all have a great day:goodvibes

Tom, You got it!!!! Very well wishes for your MIL...

I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL - you'll be in our thoughts

Sorry to hear about your MIL. Are thoughts and prayers are with you all:grouphug:

Thank You all...

We've got our flight reservations ready... we're waiting for more info. It's been a long chronic process and we are essentially well into the final stage(s) of her condition. However, we are getting some reports she may be stabilizing... so there is hope - but what remains is what her condition will be on recovery - if we achieve it.

The consensus is to hold in place for now ... but to have immediate flight arrangements ready.

So - I took my spouse shopping - and bought her a diamond sprinkled Michele watch.... < wink > ... to distract her a bit. The CSX-36 was on deep DEEP discount ... a little better than 2/3rds off the generally recognized "retail" price... and while I was at it ... I found a Technomarine gel watch... it was marked down from about $400 to ... (gulp) .... $50. I don't really NEED another watch.... (who does?) ... but I picked it up too. Then later I was wondering if it might have been really for a womans' wrist as the strap was near it's limit in fitting my wrist. So I've been searching the web for info on it... and for a moment (K) I thought it was a ladies watch. Than I found it was not - and confirmed with my spouse that "no way" could it be a ladies watch.

CSX11.jpg

So yeah... it's a "unisex" watch. Either way...<steady silent grinnin' ... waiting for my "pun" to sink in.>.... the shopping distractions for the moment appear to have had the desired effect... for a few minutes/hour(s?) at least. Maybe my spouse will actually WEAR and USE this one. As the vast majority of nice things I get her get stashed away or locked up - and never see the light of day.

Of course, some would say I siimply have to take her more places where she CAN USE these nice things. To that I can only offer ... (sigh)..... :confused3

So ... comic relief.... I have a garden PIPE connecting the fitting descending into the ground from the spigot that sprung a leak. Our pipes are so old that evidently they've corroded in the pipe WALL - and water was spurting out through a hole about 1-2mm in size. There really was a lot of water spraying out! SO I shut the main - and enquired with the hardware store plumbing people about how to best solve this. They recommended plumbers' epoxy-putty as the old pipes might prove difficult to get out to change. It's a twist off pipe with a hex flanged end on top.

copper_page_1.jpg

Well... the pipe has pretty much failed again after my fix 2 days ago - but not as bad as without the putty-epoxy slowing the water flow. From tuesday when we left tto now when we got home it's gotten worse and needs replacing now. You suppose I can solder on a patch with lead??? That would let me sidestep replacing the pipe and risk disturbing the other pipes?

Ultimately, today... I'm going to try a huge monkey wrench on it - hoping I don't SNAP off the ipie half way up without loosening the pipe from the base - and I REALLY Hope I don't damage the OTHER pipes int he process. Otherwise I won't know where to start to fix the mess I will have created!

I wonder if youtube has any useful advice for my problem?

Alas, all that will have to wait until after the Brownie troop kitchen tour I've scheduled... (I'm in charge of this Brownie event).... This will entangle me from 1PM until 3PM... leaving less time to try a fix and call a plumber after I mess it up.

OK... enough of the long winded reply. Now you know why I mostly try to restrict myself to image and animation postings with little verbage. < wink >

If I am not on much it may be because I'm drenched with water or on my way to the airport and enroute. I'm being overly dramatic though... as all is going to turn out OK... right? :rolleyes1

Again, thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.

OOOOHHHHHH, I miss Buca :sad1: Since we've left California, I can't seem to live anywhere that has one :confused3

Next time DH comes home with the speech "there's a position open in..." I'll have to check-out the local restaurants before I agree to move
