If our family does not join us.....which i am sadly almost positive they wont, i would love to join up at a large table with someone.
GOSh i dont want to eat alone ( with Dh ) again this sailing.
By dinner 4 last time we didnt have much to say after spending all day together.

I always thought that you get seated at large tables together with other parties pretty much all the time ... Is that not true? We wouldn't like a table only for the two of us either, we think it's much nicer to meet other people at dinner (The only thing is that DH understands lots of English but doesn't speak as fluently, so we would have to speak German sometimes in between and hope that we don't come across as too rude to the people who dont understand us then).

So, if we would rather not sit alone - do you think I should request that we be seated at a larger table, or will that happen pretty much automatically anyway?

As a party of 2 you will be automatically seated with others. The tables seat 4 and up. 4 tops, 6 tops, 8 tops are the most common, but there are some large tables that seat up to 12.

A lot of the smaller parties on the meet thread for our last cruise linked so as to sit together at dinner, it worked really well for them. As our cruise date gets closer and we get more people that could be something that gets set up.

I am officially on vacation now for a week (yay!)...not that I will be relaxing. Recital week is a fun kind of stress, though. :) It will be nice to be a normal person for a few days and...oh sleep at night and stuff!

HELP...

I can't seem to get my private messaging to work tonight. It keeps timing out. So, if someone could let Pinkygurl know that we are planning to participate in the FE for the cruise, I would be grateful. We have staterooms 6603 and 6605 and have 3 adults, 3 kids (ages 5,5,14).

Thanks a million!!

Hi everyone!! In what I thought would be an early appearance, I seem to be quite late getting in on this game!! :rotfl:I cruise this week every year. I am deeply entrenched in my '09 thread, and thought I would look ahead and boy was I surprised!! I don't know who my cruising companion will be next year.... I had one friend who sailed 2x with me, but $$ was an issue for '09 so I have another friend. It will be her first cruise and she is nervous. hope I get to chat some with you all a bit before next year. I don't think there will be any problems there!! :3dglasses

Welcome Penny! Looking forward to chatting with you!

EDIT: Wow, my 100th post! :-)

Hey, annichan...did you buy a new car? Don't keep us in suspense!! popcorn::

Yes, in fact, we did!!!! I'm so happy!
It is not absolutely new, it's one year old, but it has only been driven 1200 miles so it's as good as new :)

And what's even better: It has got an automatic transmission instead of the stick shift we had before! I am really a bad driver so I am so glad that it is becoming easier now! :thumbsup2
About 95% of people drive cars with stick shifts here in Germany, but I hate it - and it was really difficult finding a good used car with automatic transmission, as there are almost none (at least in the price and car size range we wanted).

Wow, so you have got three cats, too! We are the only ones with more than one cat among all our friends, and I think they believe us to be a little crazy to have so many cats :rotfl:.
How cute that you have a Maine Coon! Two of ours (the younger ones, 3 and 4 ys) are Norwegian Forest Cats, a bit similar to Maine Coons but with more pointed, fox-like little faces. Do you have them at all in the US? They are not as popular as Maine Coons here either, but there are a few breeders who have them. They are really sweet, friendly and social - but probably not too bright ;) (the big red tomcat is a total lover-boy as well and he wants to be held all the time, but he is too stupid to drink running water from the tap, he always bites into the water stream, sneezes and hisses, and eventually gives up. Gotta love him, silly thing. :rotfl2:)

Our next door neighbor has three kitties also. They went out and bought 3 from the same litter of kittens. All long hair and not near as cute as our three. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Annichan, I'm not familiar with the Norwegian Forest Cats. I'm not sure if they are here in the US or not. DW and I have always had at least had one kitty to keep us company over the years. Most of the time we had two. This is the first time we have had three. But, when Sunny showed up at our door we knew we had to invite him in to our family. He fits in perfectly. Chole, our Main Coon, is not really all that stand - offish. She wants me to hold her and pet her more then DW. Chole and DW like to fuss at each other all the time. And, then Chole will high tail it out o' there. Sometimes she runs to me to be comforted, Chloe that is. DW says.........see she likes you better then me. I don't fuss with her. :rotfl2::thumbsup2
Well, better get ready to go back to work. All have fun.:woohoo:

Exciting news here this morning-we just got a pin code for free dining in December! I have our crappy AAA agent trying to switch it over from September right now. If he takes too long I'm going to tell him to forget it, give me my money back so I can rebook myself. You don't mess with my Disney, buster! I've never been during the holidays and am downright giddy just thinking about it.:goodvibes

Thank you for the congratulations, guys!
We don't have the new car yet, we can pick it up next week on Friday, so we still have nine days to say goodbye to our old little car

Annichan, I'm not familiar with the Norwegian Forest Cats. I'm not sure if they are here in the US or not.

I just looked them up on Wikipedia, and apparently they are a very old breed but only in Norway, they are fairly new elsewhere and they are even rumoured to be the ancestors of the Maine Coon, I didn't know that! According to Wikipedia they have the nickname of "Wegie" in the US, I've never heard that but maybe some of you Americans have?

Have a great day everybody, please keep your fingers crossed for me that my sore throat doesn't get worse, I really don't want to have to call in sick tomorrow  ...

Congratulations on that! Funny enough, we got a pin code last night as well - for 42% off hotel accommodation at the Wilderness Lodge, among others, in October. First time this has ever happened to us! And the sad thing is we can't use it, as there is no way we will be able to squeeze in a week's holiday during that time, and it's just not worth it for a shorter visit with the long Transatlantic flight.

What a pity I can't transfer the pin code to somebody else who can use it :sad1:
