I am so excited to have found this thread! Hubby and I just decided that it's time for our first cruise and this is the date we have chosen. I am beyond ecstatic as this is a dream of mine!
My name is Renee' and my hubby's name is Rob.

Welcome Nicole!!! How was your cruise?

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

Our cruise was fantastic! It was the first cruise ever for our family, and we had a terrific time. We chose DCL for the service, and we weren't disappointed. We felt treated like royalty by the cast members. Our stateroom host was incredible -- definitely one of our favorite aspects of the trip. Everywhere we went on the ship, the cast members were so nice and friendly and definitely went out of their way to make us feel special and welcome.

The weather was great; warm and sunny every day and almost no rain during the day (except for a few hours in the morning in St. Maarten). The weather on CC was nice and sunny. We loved the adult beach.

The food was fantastic. The only problem we had was on our last night at Palo, ironically, when we experienced poor service (it took 35 minutes before the server even took our order; we were there for 3 hours and were not the only ones who had this problem.) We ended up missing all the activities on the last evening. But the Palo manager was very apologetic and did what he could to make it up to us. We also weren't incredibly impressed by the food at Palo (perhaps because it has been hyped so much on the DISboards and by DCL, so our expectations were very high, and it didn't meet our very high expectations). The food was fine; it just didn't blow us away. In fact, we have decided not to go to Palo next time because we thought the food in the main dining rooms was very good!

All in all, it was a super trip, and a great first cruise experience. Despite not being WDW fans, my parents are now DCL fans!! We can't wait for our October 2010 cruise!!

On our last cruise we had found our food to be not quite up to the level we were used to at Palo. We later found out that they had recently gotten a new chef. I would have hoped that they'd worked out the kinks by now. Hopefully it will be better by the time our cruise comes.

A very Happy Memorial Day to everyone, especially those who make the sacrifice to serve our country and protect all of us!

Sarah's party the other day was a blast!!! It was threatening to rain all day and the pool was closed when we arrived (although they anticipated it reopening soon), which caused a hot mess of confusion since they didn't know if we should set up on the pool deck or upstairs in the gym. We ended up with half of our stuff upstairs and half downstairs which was a mini disaster...but it all turned out well in the end, especially since the ugly weather scared the general public away and we ended up having a completely private party...both pools all to ourselves!!!! Here are some of the pics. Our three kids are in the first pic: Sarah, Savannah and Brendan.

Welcome welcome to the new fellow cruisers!!!!!

I completely understand where you are coming from about Palo. We went to Palo for brunch, and it was absolutely amazing!!! Our server was fantastic, she kept bringing us different food, and the food was wonderful!!
After we enjoyed our brunch, we were so excited about going there for dinner! Our dinner experience was completely different! Our server was not very good at all, the food was not very memorable, and he brought us those pallet cleanser, things. They had alcohol in them...none of us drink, and we were very surprised he didn't ask first. None of us ordered coctails so you would think he would have thought something about that. we told him to return it because of the alcohol and he gave us a funny look, like we were weird or something.
The whole time we were there, we miss our dining room servers.
I don't think we will do dinner again, but we can't wait to do another brunch.

Great pictures Nenner!!! Your kids are so cute!!! Looks like a great birthday party!!!!

Nenner,

Your daughters party looked like everyone had a BLAST.....Loved the pictures!!!!! Thanks, for sharing!!!!!!

Aww, Nenner . . .those pictures are soooo cute! :goodvibes
Glad everything worked out for the party. And, LOVE the last picture . . .:rotfl2:

Nenner-looks like everyone had a great time.:thumbsup2 I don't think my sister would have been smiling in that last photo.:rotfl2:

Some photos of Great Wolf Lodge as promised. By the way, the big yellow thing on Lydia's head is a headband that went with her Belle dress she got as a birthday present. She refused to go out without it on(luckily I talked her out of wearing the dress to breakfast:laughing:).

Here is the wolf den in the room. The kids loved it!

We didn't get a lot of pictures of the water park since my camera isn't waterproof but I did run in on our way to breakfast and took a few.

Also, the lobby is beautiful. They have giant clock/tree that has characters that come out and do a show with singing and a story. It was pretty cool. We took the kids down in their pj's before bed to watch it.

All in all I would highly recommend the GWL. It was expensive for us, but cheap compared to a day at Disney.:lmao:
