That is such a good deal.:goodvibes Obviously it won't be Disney, but for that price:thumbsup2 Why not?

By the way have you seen some of the Florida Residents rates for Disney 7 night cruises in April? A family of four can get a cat 9 for about $2500!::cool2: I wish I had enough vacation time... but unfortunately since we are a family of five we need 2 rooms and that gets real expensive.:sad2:

No i have not seen it ..................
But i may have to go look.

WOW!

We are worried now about leavign the kids with friends whileout at sea.

But that price:confused3 adisney cruise:confused3 ........

No we have not booked any thing yet.

We cannot decide what to do.

I have been looking and thinking.

THe Disney Cruise even deeply discounted is out of the question for us. If we go away we want it to be just "us" this time no kids.

But do we send them both to grannys house, do we get a sitter, do we wait until they are in school or do we do it in the summer..............OH so many things to consider.

It is different when you have family close....we just dont so do we wait until the kids are grown to take a vacation alone????:confused3 :confused3

I just dont know what to do.

Good Morning Sailmates :boat:
We have . . . .

FRIDAY's until we set sail!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi Everybody :wave2:

WOW, I haven't been on here in awhile...you guys have been busy ;)

I think I'm just as anxious as some of you others to get going on a vacation. I've been itching to get on the Wonder every since I booked this Magic cruise. I even went as far as booking the "kids said free" offer for this month during DS spring break...HOWEVER...DH was in the operating room the Sunday night before Christmas having his appendix removed :scared: So, it was either keep the unexpeced, spur-of-the-moment cruise or pay the medical bills...guess which one "won" :sad1: Funny, even with the best medical insurance, the bills still came to EXACTLY what we would have paid for the cruise :sad2:

I would have never cancelled if this were planned out way before, but since we're MAJOR vacation planners, it really was just supposed to be a quick, fun, "extra" thing to do.

So then I had this brainstorm...I would book us on the Wonder in October (this year) during DS fall break and just cut our WDW trip a little short...BUT...the Wonder is in DRY DOCK!! We just can't win :confused3

Now, I'm working on spring break next year :rolleyes1 We'll see how that goes ;)

So, Lynn, when is your family visiting WDW in October? We'll be there the first full week (actually, 10 days or so). It could be fun to meet up just to say "hi" one day, or possibly during one of the MNSSHP (love those :goodvibes )

WE plan to be thereat least by the 19th of OCtober and leave the 23rd but we might go a day or so ahead of my parents and take the weekend as wel which would be the 17th to the 23rd.

I was just lookingat the MNSSHP information before posting.

I think we are going to do it again, and take my neice i think she would love it and this way we can do BOTH Universal and Disney!!!!!! What a vacation!!!!

So what are the dates you are going to be there.....WE LOVE little dis meets. We actually did one with a group of people before our last cruise at MNSSHP some that were going on the cruise some that were not.

hello everyone!!! wow I thought I would of come back to at least 2 more pages LOL
been super busy here with various things...the temps are warming up a bit too wich is nice...now I'm looking forward to March break!!! I can't wait to go away for a little while

Thanks for the COUNTDOWN!!!!!!!

I love how you seem to find soemthing different each week!!!

Do you think you can do it for another 83 times??:confused3

Sure can!:thumbsup2 Although, I'll probably miss a couple. Got our RCCL cruise and of course I've got a trip to DL planned in October. But will keep up with it as best I can. :dance3:

Oh, we'll miss you then. DS fall break is the 5th - 9th...but we're taking a few days before and after. We'll be there the 1st - 12th. If your dates end up changing, let us know...we'd love to get together :goodvibes

Yes, we've been to 3 of the MNSSHP and we went to a Pirate & Princess party last year. I'm not sure why they're not doing these again this year...they were a really big hit and fun for the kids :confused3

We don't even usually do too many rides at the special parites...we just kind of visit the characters in costume and soak in the atmosphere :)

Quick question for anyone while I'm still on here: When exactly do we need to purchase incurance for the trip? I've elected not to go through DCL...I read somewhere we can get coverage that's just as good/better and lower priced? Suggestions?? Thanks ;)

We used insuremytrip.com. It was recommended on the main boards. Got a reasonably priced policy.

I am not 100% sure about the insurance timing.

We have to have ours like 3-4 months before we sail because we are DVC.

But i think paying cash it is different i think you have to have it before you payoff 100% but gosh i could be totally wrong!:confused3

Thanks for all the info so far. I'll give the TA a call in the next few weeks to double check...just thought someone on here might know as alot of you guys have cruised with Disney before. We have been on RCCL and Carnival, but that was years ago before we had the kids. We didn't even think of insurance back then, but now, you never know what can happen with those little monsters! :)

I'm interested in the insurance info as well. I'm not 100% sure we'll need it, but I want to be prepared to get it if I find out our regular health insurance doesn't cover emergencies on a cruise.:confused3

Does anyone know of any DCL podcasts out there? I listen to all the usual Disney ones at work(DisUnplugged, WDW Today, Inside the Magic, and WDW radio) but would love to find one specific to the cruise line.

I think cruise insurance is more to cover where your regular health insurance
would not cover.
For instance it may pay back a portion of your cruise if you were to get sick and quarintined for a portion of your cruise.
Or if for some reason you are delayed in a flight to get to the cruise.
Or if there is a death in the family or a serious illness or injury just befoe the cruise then you can get your money back in which you have already paid for the cruise.
Otherwise if these curcumstances take place i dont think there is much you can do to get your money back.............

Please let me know if i am understanding the insurance thing correctly.

We just always get insurance on everything since the time we were "taken" by a car rental place when we didnt get the insurance.
They said we put a scratch on the car which we were 99.9% sure we did not but since we got noisurance we ended up eating $500, to fix the scratch.

We took a GREAT VERY MINI VACATION yesterday!!!!!!:cool1:

One of the great things about living in FLORIDA!

We decdided i was off on a SUNDAY.....that never happens!!!
And we were going to take FULL advantage of it.

So we decided to take an EARLY lunch at the Cheese Cake Factory..
YUMMMY
We order a great APP, Lunch and we shared a LARGE cheese cake desert!

We sat outside and it was soooooo beautiful, the sun hitting on my arms and neck my Dh and DD under the shade of course looking at palm trees and the beautiful blue sky like u can only see in FLORIDA!

Then there was an art festival near by so we walked down one streeet and saw all kinds of nice things then headed back to drop DD off at cheer.

Then DH and I took a motorcycle ride...
We saw the airort and planes taking off and we drove by the port and saw 2 ships docked one seemed to be filling up on the decks with people so they must have been getting ready to sail off.......:cloud9:

then we rode down by the beach and saw all the people who actually thought the water was already warm enough to get in....

And headed home....

Yes i know maybe a lame vacation but for us and probablly many of you,5-6 hours of no work or worry = mini vacation.

And for the whole time i was coutning my blessings!!!!:) :) :)
