Oct. 15, 2006 (4 nights on the "New" Wonder)

swing

Susan and I had a backyard tree swing when we were little. Our mom painted it with nursery rhymes.

GB Packers or Green Bay Packers is a football team.

Harrods, hmmmm I think designer bags. I love bags. Of course I don't need any I have many :lmao:

Okay since we Americans know nothing of afternoon tea how do you do it?

*Tarzan*

Well..... Its thought of that English upper class ( posh) people have a light afternoon tea. Like they do in the GF. "PROPER" tea, is like Earl Grey tea, and doesnt come in tea bags, but is loose, i think called tea tips?
My nan always made tea using a tea pot. She use to say it was comon not to use a tea pot. She would boil the water in the kettle and then tip some water in the bone china tea pot and swirl it around, to warm it up. She would tip that away, and put the leaves in the pot and pour on hot ( not boiling ) water. Leave to "brew" ( thats why some people call a cup of tea a "brew") Always put milk and sugar in the tea cup first. Then pouring the tea through a tea strainer, pour the tea into a bone china cup and place on a saucer.

What a performance!!! :confused3 We only drink coffee in our house. :teeth: Though I have tea bags for guests.

I love Harrods shortbread biscuits they are lush! If thats what Elizabeth Hurley's only biscuit choice is, then its cool for me ! :goodvibes :goodvibes mind you shes sooo thin, she cant eat many. Im much much more chunky! and always battling to loose a few lbs!!! well may be even a 100lbs!

Oh yes I forget.... Im not that keen on mulled wine, unless on a very cold night , when snows on the ground. So wouldnt be drinking it on the cruise ( well unless there is snow! Hee hee )

Wayne and I like both white and red wine. We plan to bring some on board with us. Wayne drinks beere, but will slurp on my cocktails too. !! :rotfl:
Will anyone else bring wine on board?

Wayne drinks Jamesons whisky, so we will buy that and my Baileys at the airport. I really want him to relax on the cruise and kick back and have a few drinks. The rest of the holiday, he is driving so its only late on once back in the villa we can have a drink. Then we normally have an eary start the next day!! :)
dont get me wrong we can live with out booze!! Honest! :lmao:

Cheetah

My nan used a tea strainer too, she would only use glengettie tea, which was a sstrong as tar ...

Jane - a handbag woman after my own heart, you can never have too many shoes and bags ...

I shall start eating Harrods biscuits like Liz Hurley, I shall then look like her on the cruise - dream on ha ha ha

FAST

I am so glad that Jane asked about what our homes are famous for! I loved hearing about Wales! Tell me more please! Why is Wales known for dragons? That sounds interesting!

OK - I must say it. Kansas is known for being boring.
Most people think of Kansas City when they think of Kansas. Kansas City is actually half in Kansas and half in Missouri. Of course all the interesting things such as the sports teams are located in Missouri. Also, Walt Disney had his first try at making movies in Kansas City.
Kansas is known for: farmland, sunflowers, Jayhawks (Uni sports mascot), and Kansas Speedway (car races). I think Amelia Earhart was born here.
Also, famous for the Wizard of Oz, of course.

I want to visit Harrods! Shopping is always a good idea. :goodvibes

Linda I am really pleased that you are not going to drink mulled wine on the ship you may overheat, and then I wouldn't know what to do I am not a first aider. Ian and I took wine on last year and there is a little fridge to keep it cool - lovely to be able to have a nice cold glass ....Ian has not tried Jamesons but says he has heard it is very nice, if he has a short he has jack daniels and I like a vodka - vodka monster :rotfl2: He is racking his brains at the moment cos he cant remember the pu he stayed at when he was working at Swindon, he says it was near Honda and not far from theat Trap :confused3

Kelly - Ian had heard of your football team ... he likes to wath american football

Jane I am pleased you asked your question it is interesting to hear about where everyone lives .....

Sue - how can you say Kansas is boring, it is the most famous place in film history "We're not in kansas anymore" I was Dorothy at the last fancy dress we went to and I had a toto is a basket :rotfl2:

A dragon is on our national flag he is a red one, I will bring you a fridge magnet or a keyring with our dragon on, so u can see what he looks like, I notice you were interested in the dragon and not the sheep :rotfl2:

party:

I've been waiting for 4 more months!! Last night I found the perfect pirate skirt at Wal-Mart of all places! I was sooo excited, now I just need to accessorize to really bring out the pirate look and I'm all set.

Linda all the pirate stuff sounds like so much fun, can't wait for that night, though I wish we didn't have to hurry so much to get to the party itself now!

Julie! Paris :cloud9: I'd love to go there someday. Hope you have a wonderful time seeing Robbie Williams!

Anyone else have big plans for the weekend???

Jake's grandfather is in town visiting so we're getting together with his family on Saturday, and then Sunday we're spending with my family for Father's Day....and we're going to work on our wedding invitations (making them ourselves)

ninja

All have a fabulous weekend, happy invitation making Kelly - we have never been to paris before, so we are very excited, going to see the Eiffel Tower :Pinkbounc, we hope to do a river cruise as well, we will have to see what we can fit in around the concert ...

4 months

SAMURAI

Just 4 months! This is very exciting! :dogdance:

Kelly- Making your own invitations! That sounds very crafty! Can you post a photo of one when you are done?

Jules- Your trip sounds great! :thumbsup2 Please tell us all about the Eiffel Tower! I would love to eat in the restaurant there!
Thank You for offering to bring something with you dragon on it! I will look forward to seeing it! I liked hearing about the sheep too :rotfl:

Mutant

Kelly, I got my skirt at Wal-mart Too, we are going to be twins :rotfl:

No special plans this weekend. How come Europeans are always getting to go on Holiday. No Fair :sad2:

I can't wait to be a pirate pirate:

I was reading a trip report the other day and I almost cried when the writer said they had to disembark. If I am that emotional over someone else, what is going to happen when I have to get off the ship :sad2:

X-Men

Jane - I wonder if we have the exact same skirt! That would be too funny. I'm really excited about it, it's very comfortable...my whole "costume" is and it's costing me so much less than the one I purchased and am returning. Now Jake just needs to figure out what he's going to wear.

I'm sure I'm going to cry a little getting off the ship....wish this was a 7 day cruise instead!

Sue - sure I'll post a picture when we're all done. Our original plan for making the invitations was much more complex and nothing was going like we thought it would and then I saw a cute invite in one of the bridal magazines and I thought OH that would be sooo easy to make something similar in our theme. The ones in the magazine cost over $300 though to order - ours are under $100 including the Disney Romance postage stamps :)

WOLVERINE

They have Disney romance postage stamps?? Wow, you have thought of everything. I bet your invitations end up being better than the ones in the magazine.

Hi Jane. I don't think we will cry too much when we leave the ship. We will still be on our happy endorphins at that point. It will be a few days to a week later when we will want to cry and run back to the ship. :sad1:

Lets just focus on the fact that we will be very happy while we cruise.

Wow Jules lucky you, seeing Robie in Paris, give him my love!
Paris is a great city to explore, I love looking around the markets. The Eiffel tower is OK, a bit over rated IMHO. however I have very special memories of the river cruise on the river Seine.

Kelly the invites sound so personal, just how a wedding should be. You guys are really putting alot of effort to make your guests feel really very special. What are these Disney Stamps? Sounds very romantic, and unique?

Engalnd won their 2nd football game today so we definately go through to the next round in the World cup! Their last game in this group is on Tue, against Sweden. Its important to win this to be top of our group, but either way, we go through ! :cheer2:

Elouise has her graduation from Pre School tomorrow. They are doing the stage show "Grease" The film with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. Ellie is a pink lady!. She has been practising her dance routine and song for ages. fingers crossed she does OK tomorrow! Sure to be funny, with all 4 yrs old doing it.!! :rotfl2:

At Christmas they did a play about all the animals in the stable when Jesus was born. Elouise was a cockerel!. Many of the other animals started crying and wouldnt sing or dance, some ran to their parents etc. Elouise was the star of the show, strutting her stuff in red tights, with a yellow marigold (washing up glove) on her head :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
She shouted so loud "Cocker doodle do" !! I had tears running down my face. Priceless!
Ive promised her a snowglobe if she does good this time. Our video collection is full of crazy moments like this.

Dreaming of fast forwarding the days by say............... emm... 4months!

Kelly ...........What actual date do you and jake get married on?, Im sure its here somewhere on this thread, but its quicker to ask. :thumbsup2

Our friends get married on the 1st Oct, the bride was asking me about your date and I'm embarrassed to admit I didnt know :guilty:
We got talking after she brought a door sign and decorations too, for their honeymoon.

HOWL

Linda, our wedding date is October 7. Elouise gets to be a pink lady! I'm so jealous. When I was little I used to watch the Grease movies all the time....I think I had a pink satin jacket at one point! I always ask Jake if we can dress up like that for halloween but he's not into that hehe.

the Disney Romance postage stamps look like this: Disney Stamps

MOON

Elouise sounds like a star! She will be so cute in Grease! That is definately something to document with lots of photos!!
CONGRATULATIONS on her graduation! :sunny:

I will be supporting England on Tuesday! The World Cup should be yours! :teeth:
