Oceaneer Band And Disney Infinity

We just left the Disney Dream on Friday. My son got all excited and purchased his band with his own money. We got it home, put it on the base and.... nothing! He is so disappointed. Anyone else cruised recently and have different results? Did we get a dud or do they no longer work? And if they don't work, why did counselors say otherwise?

Disney Infinity is finito. That could very well be why it didn't work.

But just in case the band's special features don't require being actually online with the game, here's the page of what it does. I'm not sure if it works anymore with Disney Infinity no longer being supported. You used to need the 3.0 version for it to work. We cruised last August, bought the band, and were able to get some content from it at that time. I will double check with my kids when they wake up. I believe they got cruise ship décor, a little cruise ship to drive around on, etc. It wasn't anything that spectacular--but they did get something.
