OCD or real issue?

So I believed that I had my ADRs set up just right, but now I'm freaking out that I'm wrong about one. I know it has a bad rep, but I really want to try and got a Chef Mickey's brunch at 2pm for one of our MNSSHP days. I thought it was perfect, plenty of time to see the characters, eat my fill of Mickey waffles, and then we hop right on the monorail to MK. Now I'm wondering if I need to try to push it back. Am I just OCDing or are these real concerns?

What if we don't get seated until really late, especially since I've read that resort guests can make reservations even if the restaurant is full and their reservations will take priority over mine?
What if, having gotten seated late, and brunch ends 30 minutes after our reservation time, they run out of or don't replace the Mickey waffles?
What if it takes over 2 hours to see all the characters?
What if it takes 30-45 minutes of waiting to get on the monorail because everyone else is heading to MNSSHP?

Awwww...Freak Out!

I am staying at the CR- and I have an ADR to Chef Mickey's. I have never heard of resort guests getting in and my TA didn't mention it- so I do not think that is correct.

I don't think CM's is going to take more than 2 hours and you can always walk over to MK.

Have fun!

What if it takes over 2 hours to see all the characters? Chef Mickeys is not a large venue. It shouldnt take much more than an hour for all the characters to get to you.

What if it takes 30-45 minutes of waiting to get on the monorail because everyone else is heading to MNSSHP? Wont happen..but if for some really really strange reason it does, you can always walk to the MK from the Contemporary. Its about 10 - 15 minute walk. Also, keep in mind, the party starts at 7. Ive heard they will let you in at 4, but nothing special is going on at that time.

Deep Breaths....

I believe you are overthinking it. There is no way they will allow more than the available ADRs and no a resort guest will not take precedence over your ADR.

It won't take two hours to see all of the characters....it shouldn't take an hour really!

They will refill food as long as there are guests there.

There will not be that long of a wait for the monorail. If there were a service issue I'm sure there would be busses at the ready and as the previous poster mentioned, it's a short, easy walk to MK as a last resort. Also, most people who will be attending MNSSHP are not savvy Disney guests. They see a ticket that says 7 PM and say "Oh, I'll be at the gate at 7". They won't know they can actually get in at 4 PM. Even if all the guests going that evening did show up at 4, remember hard ticket events have a much lower attendance than a normal park day... Unless you are going during the week of Halloween it likely won't be sold out and even then it's still less than a peak day.

It will all be well...enjoy and relax!

I have never heard this.

Agreed.

Totally agree.

OCD or real issue?

OCD. None of those are either true or an issue. And why would you take the monorail, which will go to the TTC, Poly, and GF before reaching the MK? Just walk there. 10 minutes. Down hill.

Whew! Thanks everyone that makes me feel much better! We do have fp+ starting 3:30-4:30, so I wanted to make sure we got there in time to make our first fp+ without rushing about, especially since my mother has mobility issues and uses a cane. Actually I read it here from a poster I consider reliable that upper level managers at the higher level resorts have an override code that they can use to get people into "full" restaurants. It's probably used a lot less than what my "worse case scenario" brain was thinking. Thank you everyone for putting me at ease!

OCD or real issue? Neither.

Others have explained why it's not a real issue, but I think people tend to confuse worrying, anxiety, or merely obsessing with what OCD really is. Now if you were calling them every hour on the hour to confirm the reservation, that would be closer to OCD.

You're fine....your plans are fine...just get excited that you have a trip on the horizon :) And if the weather is nice...just walk to MK from the Contemporary. It usually takes less time.
