Im not sure if this is the right section for this or not, but it looked like my best bet. I apologize in advance if Im in the wrong section here.

My question pertains to how many people you can book in a room if you have infants or children under the age of 3. We are planning our May 2014 vacation and when we go it will be me, DH, DS (4), DD (2), my little sister (12) and my newborn baby who will be right around 4 months. As far as body count goes, this puts us at 6 people. However, the newborn will be cosleeping with my DH and I and the 2 year old will be sleeping in a pack n play. I would like to get a one bedroom villa, but I notice that most of them sleep 4 or 5 people. We would be perfectly comfortable in either a 4 or 5 person room, but Im not sure what Disney's policy is on this. Especially for DVC members.

Anyone here have any information they could send my way? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks :flower3:

Except for the AKV Value villas -- all 1 BRs will allow 5 people + 1 (under 3).

You'd have to provide bedding for the 5th person on the villas that sleep 4 (BWV, BCV, etc).

Even if you have five children under the age of three, four will count towards occupancy and one will not. Plus, villas that officially sleep four will not allow the fifth plus one. Only one more for those villas (one bedroom villas at BCV, BWV, VWL, SSR). Only one extra person, under three or three and older.

You will be a party of five plus one under the age of three. But for park admission your two year old will not need it and will not be able to use the dining plan.

That's not my understanding. Other than those aimed at 5 (AKV non value, BLT, OKW maybe), the rest will only allow 5 total but does not require 1 be under 3. So BCV, BWV, WVL and SSR at WDW is technically 5 total, not 5 plus one under 3.

Deb/Bill & Dean,

I've stopped debating this since its SO easy to prove/disprove :) You can do this online right now. We just stayed at BCV and BWV 1 BR with my brood of 6 (5 + 1 under 3).

It may not be this way before or before online booking but it is this way right now.

Thanks for the information! We are looking at either AKV (not the value) or OKW. I noticed that the Deluxe studio at the gland Floridian sleeps 5. Would they also allow the 5+1? Im not sure what the availability will be since its a new resort but I would like to know if its an option for our party size.

You can book a dvc studio with 5+ 1 but if anyone plans on going to bed at a different time or ever needs to use the bathroom at night. With 5 in the studio there is not really a bath to the bathroom, if you are adding a pack and play also you will have no movement space.
