OBX or Virginia Beach?

Hey guys.. Not making the Fort this year but already booked July 2013! For those who have been maybe you can help me out. We are driving down from CT spending 10 days at the Fort and driving back. On the way back we want to stop at either the Outer Banks for a few nights or Virginia Beach. We will have a 3 and 2 year old. Where we know Disney like the back of our hands we have no idea on OBX or VB, so any information/suggestions would be helpful. Thanks so much!

We're going to the OBX KOA for a week in June -this will be our 2nd time there. Last time we did the lighthouses but I don't think that would interest toddlers. After doing Disney I would probably just relax and not overdo it with more plans....just enjoy some downtime.

Haven't been to VB yet.

That's why we are stopping in OBX or Virginia Beach, just to relax and enjoy the beaches... We are looking at the KOA how was it?

It's basically a huge open field but beachfront. There are steps to the beach which are easier then hauling stuff over the dunes. Two large bath-houses which 1 is new this year because it was destroyed last year by the hurricane. 2 pools and one has a slide. A lot of kids activities....a train that they can ride around the campground, a jumping pillow....I forget what else. It's not cheap but the beach location is great. There is a state park in close proximity but no hookups.

Thanks and great site. We have actually changed all together and we are going to go to Myrtle Beach for a couple of nights.
