The news continues to report that Obama's campaign is outspending McCain's by 6 to 1, yet Obama isn't able to seal the deal. Obama has run the most expensive Presidential campaign in American history and yet can't bring in an overwhelming amount of votes. It makes me wonder where McCain would be in the polls if he spent an equal amount of money and if Obama is buying the election.

Obama has already proven one thing, He is very good at spending other People's Money. There will not be a drop of Campaign Cash Left.

Obama, America's Answer to Robin Hood
Spread the Wealth Around = Welfare

:confused3

Seal the deal? Since when has the deal been sealed before the election?

Money or no money, some people will only vote for who they want to.

Yawning again DVD dude??? :rotfl:

Ummm...you can't "seal the deal" until the election is OVER.

We still have 2 weeks left.

We'll talk after it's actually over.

This election is not about money in the way you insinuate. The fact that Obama HAS so much money to spend on his campaign screams about how much support he has from his supporters. Perhaps McCain's supporters are not as generous OR perhaps he has far fewer supporters. Whatever the reason, Obama war chest is amazing and it doesn't hurt to have the funds. It's how W Bush(43) won his first election(if you discount the voter disenfranchisement) and it will be how many others keep their faces in front of the people. Obama's ads here in Ohio are sooooooo much more positive, light and encouraging. If I had to watch that many of McCain's dark, suspicious, haunting ads it would be pretty demoralizing. Hey, think that's why McCain is doing so poorly?....running a negative campaign when people need to be hearing positive messages?

Or perhaps, Obama broke his word and opted out of public campaign financing.

And he has never released the source of over half of his funding. We know that over $3 million of donations over $200 came from foreign sources. How much of the under $200 donations has come from foreign sources? SOME Americans would like to know. OTHERS don't care.

If he has never released the sources of half his funding then how do you know that over $200 has come from foreign sources???

It is not about the popular vote polls, it is about the electoral vote totals. At this moment, Obama only has to hold the states that are solid and leaning to win an easy victory. McCain has to win all of his holds and leans AND all the toss ups and still find 25 more electoral votes.

All I know is I have voted and that is all I can do, I hope everyone else does the same.

How about we wait until Nov. 4 before we start making assumptions. ;)

Sounds like a great idea for another negative ad for Sen. McCain...with only 2 weeks left in the election cycle, I suggest you get that scurrilous info to Team Maverick immediately!! Of course, I've always wondered why more hay hasn't been made about McCain's moneyed relationship to the KLA and their ties to drug lords and al-Qaeda...but what are you going to do?

Sorry to offend those who think America is color-blind, but I think it's all about racism. We have a cancer-stricken old man whose running mate is a certified moron, yet the race is still very close. Let's face it, if Obama were white, this race would have been long over.

I know I'm gonna get flamed, but I see racism every day. EVERY DAY!!!! And I live in a very liberal town. I'm not accusing all McCain supporters of racism, but to say racism is not a big issue in the US is delusional.

I agree with you in that racism exists in this country. And to deny that it exists is ridiculous.

However, I don't think anyone's doing themselves any favors by referring to a man who is running for POTUS as a "cancer-stricken old man" or his running mate as a "certified moron."

I have seen disrespect on both sides of the aisle in this election. If I would like to make a point about my feelings on the issues, and I would like to be heard, personally I would be respectful in my post. I would hope I would get respectful responses in return.

Name-calling does nothing for anyone's argument. JMO.

I'm just trying to make a point. McCain/Palin is a very weak ticket.

Because all donations over $200 must be documented and reported through the Federal elections Commission. Donations under $200 are not required to be reported. McCain has voluntarily released all of the information regarding the sources of all his donations, including those under $200. Obama has not. Over $250 Million of Obama's donations came in under the $200 limit.

It seems to me when you can't think of an intelligent response, you start screaming racism. Face the facts Obama is just a weak canidate. With all the Bush hatred, the Dems should be winning by a landslide. The country is just not comfortable with a president as LIBERAL as BO. Sure racism exists but I'd be willing to bet people are more concerned with how he'll affect their wallets than the color of his skin.

He was leading by 8 points nationally the other day, that's pretty close to a landslide

Pushing Montana from McCain Solid to McCain Leaning is a pretty good indicator that Obama has sealed the deal. Sealing the deal in an election a bit like being in a recession; you don't know you're there until you've been there for a couple of quarters.

It makes me wonder where McCain would be in the polls if he spent an equal amount of money and if Obama is buying the election.
Probably just about the same. People are voting against McCain because of his policies, his recently-demonstrated judgment, and his campaigns tactics, perhaps. Not because people don't know who he is.
