You had your mind made up before the video and were looking for something to latch onto about your dislike of Obama. I think that is pretty clear.

I really didnt need the video for me to believe that Obama is a Crock. The video just provided evidence to what I already have seen & heard. Or in Obama case have NOT seen & Heard.

I do think that if there was a video of Obama kicking puppies and feeding rat poison to babies, he followers would STILL view him as "THE ONE".

While I don't agree with the Wright's words, I can understand where the hurt and anger comes from.

Same here, and we hope and can see that the generation that moved on from Reverend Wright's era has benefited from his struggles... some day I hope in my lifetime the entire 50 states of America can respect each other, and where they came from and how they got here.

Well of course we'd think that since the only reasons we are voting for him are:

a) we are drinking the Kool-Aid of the "warm fuzzies" we get when he's on TV and
b) we'd rather have a beer with him.

I'm a fairly reasonable person. I will vote for whichever Democrat is the nominee. I am putting you on ignore because you've gone over the line with your hatred of a legitimate candidate of our party. I'm not thrilled telling another Democrat that his rhetoric is way over the bounds of appropriateness (in my opinion) so I'll stop here. Word by word, sentence by sentence, someone tell me something they can truly argue with in that speech.

The actual speech. The words and ideas expressed. Not imagined judgements you have already made about the man. I just cant fathom how anyone can argue the points made were not a completely honest and accurate depiction of the world we live in.

He was HONEST when talking about everybody elses racism, including his own Grandmothers!!!!! As if He is above it all!

His spiritual advisor is a nutcase and Obama made a spin speech to straddle the fence distancing himself from the pastor without casting him off completely as the nutcase he really is.

And talk of reconciliation won't work if we have to "understand" or "excuse" bitter, angry, hateful preachers over what happened to their ancestors (especially with the AIDS lies thrown in).

Is Obama completely beyond the racist nonsense of Wright, Jackson, Sharpton et al or not?? It's beginning to sound like the Canadian NAFTA issue -- one face in public and another face behind the scenes.

Not once have I ever used the "Kool Aid' reference...EVER to anybody on these boards in all the time I have been here. But I have had it used towards me from Obama supporters..and I blew it off!

What I argue with is that he made excuses for Rev. Wright and his hate speech. That he didn't even begin to explain why he hasn't been able to change Rev. Wright's divisive views, or his congregation, but he's somehow going to change the country. And how he can justify taking his daughters to a church on Sundays where they will hear lies and distorted, hateful views about their own country.

He's trying to have it both ways. To hold himself up on the national stage as "the one" who can transcend the racial divide and heal the racial wounds. Well, he should have started closer to home, in his own community. But he won't risk that.

You're glad he denounced the comments, but you don't question the wisdom of subjecting his own daughters to them? Were there no other churches available, where his children could hear the Gospel of the Love of Christ without all the hate-filled rhetoric too?

In the speech I heard, he didn't give anyone a pass for their racism. I think the point about his grandmother was spot on.

Well, he made ME feel better about it. That has to be the first step. There seem to be others.

As far as holding himself up as "the one"............hes running for president. He is asking people to vote for him. Thats how its done.
