...You realize that they don't use aborted embryos, but use embryos created by doing basically in vitro fertilization, right? They're growing the embryos for a couple days and then taking the stem cells out of them.

As someone living with a form of Muscular Dystrophy, I'm taking the smart way to look at this and giving Obama a "hoorah!".

first, its not an embryo for two weeks. "embryo" and "zygote" and "fetus" aren't interchangeable terms. the zygote would have to exist for two weeks minimum (usually its three) before it grows enough for stem cells to even form.

second, harvesting is only one method of receiving embryonic stem cells. surprise surprise, the majroity of you seem to be unaware that stem cells can even be found in the umbilical cord when the baby is delivered at full term. embryonic spinal stem cells are only one type of the many kinds of stem cell research. many support the idea of harvesting pre-abortion embryonic spinal stem cells. did any of you knwo that even ADULTS have stem cells?

and third, its not invitro, because there is no host mother. all of these things take place using donated eggs and sperm in a laboratory setting.

and fourth,
to those of you that don't support embryonic stem cell research, did you know that the blanket bill that is banning the use of federal money is preventing ALL types of research involving stem cells? even animal stem cells?

i think this argument would reach better conclusions if everyone was adequately informed.

I don't get what the difference is between interfering with god's plan by doing stem cell research, and interfering with god's plan by performing surgery/giving medicine/etc.

You (and others) said that God hates gays. So then he should hate me, shouldn't he? And I never believed in God, so why would he want to test my faith in him? I have none, never did, never will. I wasn't given this by Satan (wt?). I was just an unlucky 1/4 chance by genetics.
