I have collected a few meaningful copies of Rolling Stone. The John Lennon cover, Abbie Hofman, Hunter Thompson, The Summer of Love anniversary issue and I'm getting this one. I have a few others but my old brain doesn't remember which they are, maybe Elvis, lol!

"A New Hope"--straight out of Star Wars! Is Obama the Chosen One, to bring the forces of light and darkness together? :rotfl:

Time for a little truth? Great read!

The Obama campaign unloads on Hillary Clinton's "experience" with this memo by Greg Craig offering a point-by-point rebuttal of her claims:
Hillary Clinton's argument that she has passed "the Commander- in-Chief test" is simply not supported by her record.

"There is no doubt that Hillary Clinton played an important domestic policy role when she was First Lady. It is well known, for example, that she led the failed effort to pass universal health insurance. There is no reason to believe, however, that she was a key player in foreign policy at any time during the Clinton Administration. She did not sit in on National Security Council meetings. She did not have a security clearance. She did not attend meetings in the Situation Room. She did not manage any part of the national security bureaucracy, nor did she have her own national security staff. She did not do any heavy-lifting with foreign governments, whether they were friendly or not. She never managed a foreign policy crisis, and there is no evidence to suggest that she participated in the decision-making that occurred in connection with any such crisis. As far as the record shows, Senator Clinton never answered the phone either to make a decision on any pressing national security issue - not at 3 AM or at any other time of day."

you think that the VP thing blew up in their face??
I am not sure it did...I sure hope it did though!!!!!

It just seems like the more the news plays the moment of Billary saying he could be VP... the more folks who are on the fence may begin to believe it is possible....

Was it a clinton staffer who said that about obama....being lucky to be black....if it was why aren't they forced to resign??

Geraldine Ferarro dailybreeze.com
"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position," she continued. "And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

She works on Clinton's finance committee.

The gentle touch of racism from Ferraro and, of course, Ed "You've got conservative whites here ... who are not ready to vote for an African American candidate" Rendell plays well with some of Clinton's core demo's-over 50 whites.

I think it's shameful to elect anyone to office with a little umph from racist politics.

well i guess they aren't going to fire Geraldine Ferraro......

That was a very ignorant thing to say ....

Honu....what makes you think the VP thing isn't working???

anyway..it is just another part of the clinton Kitchen sink attack.....

so far Barack is doing a great job...rising above the muck.....

I don't know if it will be possible for him to not go negative to a point...

Nah, the last 24 hours of news has all been about Obama saying he wasn't running for VP and to not get that idea.... the pundits are all pointing out the hypocrisy of what the Clinton campaign is saying.

Apparently Clinton is going to come out soon and give a smashing to Obama however, hitting him on everything from Nafta to the War to god knows what else....

The reason Feraro doesn't have to resign is the same reason Wolfson doesn't have to resign for what he said, they're not really personal attacks :rolleyes1 OK, you can say that Clinton, but just cause you say it, doesn't make it true....

I liked his statement, today. It's one day at a time. He continues to stay honest and ethical regardless of the dishonest politics that, unfortunately, seem to be kitchensinked his way.

Unfortunately with all the goings on, Obama's numbers have dropped 5% with all the crud that's been said and going on while Clinton has stayed the same and McCain has gone up that 5%, that's according to the latest Newsweek poll.

He does need to hit hard on the Clinton's tax records. If they were clean as the driven snow, they'd have already been released. When/if they finally do come out, there may be some really ugly (and possibly) unelectable surprises.

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4421457&page=1

""What is the holdup?" said Sheila Krumholz of the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonprofit group that tracks the role of money in politics. "She hasn't exactly made it clear as to what process is making it so cumbersome to just release them."

Past Democratic presidential candidates have set a precedent for releasing their tax returns before or during the primary season. Sen. John Kerry released his in December of 2003, and former Vice President Al Gore's were in the public domain while he was in office. Clinton's opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, released his 2006 return last April."

Barack is so elequent....it just seems he needs some catchy lines....

Clinton: who do you want answering the phone at 3 Am

BArack....you want the right person... I AM THE RIGHT PERSON to answer the phone at 3 am....

i still say he needs more sound bites that will be picked up and used on the promos for the news.... so they are repeated and repeated..... it seems like the clinton campaign is all i see on the news "coming attractions" so right or wrong, true or false ...she is getting her message out....

PSA for everyone on this thread: Go get yourselves a copy of Rolling Stone!!

I got mine in the mail yesterday and it contains a very well written endorsement of Senator Obama for President.

There's also a good article by Matt Taibbi on Hillary. He's written some great pieces throughout the primary season.

I got a copy of it over the weekend but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Looking forward to it! :cool1:

Obama also needs to DEMAND that that donations for the Library are released. Randi Rhodes was going nuts yesterday about this. Her whole theory is that the Republicans have all this crap on the Clintons about quid pro quos for the Library and they're just waiting for her to be made the nominee so they can hammer her with all of it.

For example-can you imagine the fun they'll have with this-and all I did was google it.

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. — President Clinton's new $165 million library here was funded in part by gifts of $1 million or more each from the Saudi royal family and three Saudi businessmen.
The governments of Dubai, Kuwait, and Qatar and the deputy prime minister of Lebanon all also appear to have donated $1 million or more for the archive and museum that opened last week.

and this:

The former wife of fugitive financier Marc Rich contributed about $400,000 to the Clinton presidential library, legal sources tell TIME. This revelation is likely to deepen suspicions of congressional investigators looking into the controversial pardon given to Rich by President Clinton — that Denise Rich's financing of Clinton political and personal projects influenced his decision to give amnesty to her ex-husband.

Both of these articles show Mrs Clinton prominently.

No "Dream Ticket" for Pelosi
pelosino.jpg

Speaker says any split ticket scenario is “impossible.”
“I think that the Clinton administration has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that Senator McCain would be a better Commander in Chief than Obama.”

One of the great weaknesses of the Clintons is that they seem to think they are far smarter than 99% of the population. Did you ever think you'd see the day when Nancy Pelosi would have to come out and specifically address the Clinton's "Ummm, even though we're losing, we're winning, and so we might let little 'ole Barack join us if he behaves," strategy?

http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/03/obamaclinton_nope_says_pelosi.php

""I think that ticket either way is impossible," Pelosi told NECN's Alison King shortly after an environmental event in Waltham, Massachusetts today.

Pelosi cited comments made by Clinton officials that John McCain would be a better commander-in-chief as an example of why the 'dream ticket' wouldn't become a reality.

As for who she favors at this point, Pelosi, who will chair the Democratic National Convention in Denver, isn't tipping her hand.

"I'm uncommitted," she reiterated to Alison King.

But for hopes of a Clinton-Obama dream team, there's no subtlety.

"I wanted to be sure I didn't leave any ambiguity," she said."
