Obama- Simply Not qualified

Get back to me after you've been a constitutional law professor for 12 years, maybe we can get you on the ballot. In the meantime, try to do some community organizing, and serve as a state legislator in a huge district, and serve as a US Senator. Who knows???

I still wouldn't be qualified to run for President...and neither is Obama. And neither is Palin.

I think being highly intelligent/smart is not a bad qualification to have.

But it's not enough. If you disagree, feel free to vote for Obama, or McCain/Palin. I am not voting for any of them, expressly because I do not believe Obama and Palin are qualified. McCain is, in my opinion, but he's older and not in perfect health. I'm not going to take that chance...sorry.

That's okay. I totally understand. I actually feel exactly as you do, but I feel that I have pick one over the other. Had Palin not entered the frey, and the VP pick was someone I could live with, I would have voted McCain. I feel so strongly about Palin, that I just really don't want her there. Voting for Obama is one vote closer to stopping that. If you feel equally against each candidate, I can understand not voting.

Whether he was a lecturer or a professor, he still has brains. Which is something the other side doesn't have.

Oh so now you are saying McCain has no brains? I don't think its that EASY to get into the United States Navel Academy. Yes he was 5th from the bottom of the class but he did do well in subjects such as English literature, history, and government. He also was popular and a leader amoung his midshipmen. Sometimes there is more to being a leader then just being smart.

Oh and by the way everyone has a brain so I guess in a way you are right Obama has a brain - I don't know about brains - I thought everyone only had 1. :rotfl:

Another thing we may have forgotten during the last 8 years is that the US Constitution is kind of important. Obama is a scholar of the US Constitution.

Except the second amendment, right?

It may be easy when your papa and grand papa are admirals!!:goodvibes :rotfl2:

just sayin'

Yes, let's assume he is a constitutional scholar. Then why has he repeatedly supported legislation that infringes upon the second amendment to that constitution?

The man is one of the best orators I have ever heard. But if it's not a teleprompter, he doesn't speak well and the lack of depth to his experience bcomes evident quickly. Somebody with his incredible lack of experience isn't qualified, except that he is over the age of 35 and a natural norn citizen...

Obama was a Constitutional Law professor for 12 years. He's smart.

No he wasn't.

His formal title was "senior lecturer," but the University of Chicago Law School says he "served as a professor" and was "regarded as" a professor.

I am going to vote for Ron Paul. I can't in good conscience vote for McCain, because I agree with you 100% on Palin--NOT QUALIFIED as either VP or (God forbid) President. Obama is going to win my state hands down, no question, so I don't feel bad "throwing my vote away" either. I get to vote for someone I believe in, and not inadvertently help elect the person I care for least (Obama). Win-win for me!

So if Obama was a professor, he would be qualified. But if he was only a senior lecturer then he wouldn't be qualified? Or is it the other way around. Maybe being a professor would make Obama too much of an elitist. Being merely a senior lecturer is like being one of the guys.

Is this the debate now?

Nope. Just correcting misinformation. That is all.

I don't think you will find Ron Paul on the ballot. He ran for the nomination of the Republican party - but lost to McCain.

That's a myth that is poorly perpetuated by the NRA.

He appears to be for moderate, sensible gun control.

http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Barack_Obama_Gun_Control.htm

Uh, you think thats moderate? How about a quote from your own link:

"He was the most strident candidate when it came to enforcing and expanding gun control laws."

He wants to ban the sale of semi-automatic weapons, limit gun purchases to one per month, opposes concealed carry, wants to reinstate the assault weapons ban. He is as anti-gun as you can be.

It's been "a debate" for some time, because Obama's time as a lecturer illustrates much of his resume: he was given positions for which he was unqualified, and allowed to perform fewer duties in those positions than others who had to earn them by qualifications. For example, it is dishonest to say he "performed as a professor," because Obama never wrote or published any scholarship in law — as virtually all law professors are required to do as a condition of their continued employment. As editor of Harvard's Law Review, he never wrote any original scholarship, but rather wrote reviews of others' work, again a circumstance unheard of until Obama held the position. Which is why, incidentally, the volume of the law review he edited has been cited less in others' research than any volume in Harvard's history. There's simply no "there" there. Same thing with his brief stint as a lawyer. He had numerous jobs thrown his way, but appears to have performed in a most undistinguished manner, and was not on track to be made a partner in his firm. He is a breathtaking underachiever who has been gifted with positions virtually his entire life, and has performed in those positions as the underachiever that he is.

15 years of State/DC Senator + Constitutional Law professor = Presidential Material

4-5 years as mayor of a small town you saddled with 20 million of debt + 18 months of Governorship in which you're being investigated added to six years at 4 school to earn a bachelors in journalism does NOT = Presidential Material

And how long have they each had a passport and used it?
