Obama or Hillary?

If the nomination came down to these 2, who would you want as nominee?

  • Obama

  • Hillary

Results are only viewable after voting.
Obama, for several reasons. Although I do have serious concerns about his lack of foreign policy experience, in my opinion, he appears as a much more open and honest candidate than Hillary. His voting record also matches up with my views to a large extent (from what I have read.) I am quite excited to learn more about his platform in the months to come, and see if my feeling about him stays the same.

Another Poll that would be good....

Is America more ready to have an African American President OR a Female President???
I'd vote for Colin Powell so fast the chad wouldn't have a prayer of hanging on. I SO wish that he'd run. :)

Hilary....Obama is just too young...he should check back in 10 years....

How about Democrats for Giuliani!! Now there's a sign for my lawn!

He would be my choice over just about anyone either party is currently offering. I think he'd be a pretty tough moderate and just what our country needs right now.

I've heard a few good comments about Clinton in the past year, but I'd really have to be convinced... really convinced, she'd be a good president.

Obama appears to be a decent guy and he just might be, but he's still young, which translates into inexperience for such a powerful office. I'm more than a little concerned about some info going around about his upbringing. I'm told he's originally a Muslim with at least some education from the radical faction that wants us dead. He is downplaying that by stating he also spent two years in a Catholic school. I know it's a stretch (I hope), but some of you might be old enough to remember some early cold war speculation regarding communist "sleepers" imbedded in our society. At the very least, we need to learn more about him.

In any case, we have some time before all the nomination dust settles and it's probably best to hold our anxieties until we really know who the front-runners will be. Powell has repeatedly said he will not run, so my best guess at this time is that we'll be looking at a McCain vs Clinton ballot. I wouldn't make any bets, though.

id Vote Hillary... wasn't SHE already "like" the president before anyway?? :confused3

Obama is a practicing Christian. His wife and children are Christian. His mother was also Christian. His father, with whom he had almost no contact, was an agnostic man who was born a Muslim in Africa. His step-father was a non-practicing Indonesian Muslim. From what I have read he did attend two years at a Muslim school in Jakarta, followed by two years at a Catholic school - also in Jakarta. He was then sent to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents where he attended a prestigious private school. His middle name is Hussein (he is a Jr. named for his father), and the right-wing media have had great fun trying to use that to turn him into a terrorist. It is truly a pathetic stretch. I agree we need to learn more about him because of his relative political inexperience, but to suggest because someone's ancestors were Muslim he must be sympathetic to jihad is sick.

I'm a republican and in no way would vote for either of these two in the main election. However, with that said I think Obama could be very good for the country.

First and foremost it is my belief that there are certain individuals (Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc) who have a vested interest in continuing racial strife in America. They use every perceived instance of racism to further their cause and not the cause of black Americans. I think their approach clouds the racial issue such that when true, harmful, and disgusting racism does happen it can be dismissed as their they go again. Their approach cheapens a very serious problem that still exists in America.

With Obama (or any Black American) as president, the arguments and exaggerations of the Jesse crowd loses steam. They will be seen for the shakedown artists that they are. Then, we can hopefully focus on what the true issues are and maybe solve them.

I also could live with Obama as my president.

Hillary on the other hand is a lying, cheating, scheming individual with no moral core who will say or do anything to obtain and maintain power.

As of today, Hillary.

I really dont know much about Obama.......yet!:confused3 Got LOTSA time to decide!.....LOTS OF TIME!

With that said.....I am already got a :headache: over the whole "Obama- Charisma" thing!!!!

Does one have to have model/movie star looks to run for President these days??????

Yes, I'd heard Fox News was spreading this nonsense (by saying other people were saying it, so they can claim they never said it...:headache: ). That would be similar to someone saying I must be a Nazi because of my German heritage. Honestly, if you don't like a politian, fine, but debate the issue on the merits, not what school a person attended at age six (the age Obama was when he went to this muslim school).

Not that I would agree with anything here (less than 100% that is) especially the last part, so I'll just popcorn:: and bump it.

:thumbsup2
Why does it always seem that the folks who are actually qualified to run this country, also are smart enough to know they don't want the job?

I would also vote for Colin Powell (and I'm a Democrate), however I understand why he is not willing to run. No job is worth putting your family in danger IMO.

As to the original ? I don't know who I would vote for :confused3 .

I like Hillary and would have no problem voting for her.

I'm also liking what I'm seeing with Obama. He doesn't have the experience that some would like but I think a younger perspective in the White House might be a good thing.

It is a wait and see thing for me.
