I bought my Juliet's in Florida, and AFAIK, Oakley set the price and all stores sell at that price. The only way around that I know of, is to buy in Universal and if you have a Annual Pass you'll get 10% off.

Matt
Great tip ... especially as I have an AP for Universal for the first time this trip! ;)

Great tip indeed, we have Annual Passes too and they really do save you money.
Plus parking for free saves a few dollars also.
There is a new Oakley watch out that I was thinking of buying this coming August but despite having a/p's hadn't even thought about the 10% off from the Universal store - thanks for the reminder :)

What road s the shop near Dolly Partons dinner place on? Is that the same road as Premium Outlets?
It's nearby. It's essentially "behind" Premium Outlet. IIRC to get to Premium outlets you go up I-Drive then take the first turning into Vineland Ave. I think the other place is the second turning.

OK, found it now:

Regency Village, apparently.

DH & eldest DS got theirs from Quiet Flight & were very pleased with the price & the service.

When I enquired about the price of Oakley glasses/mp3 player ( thump ?) at Universal Studios I was told that AP discount didn't apply as they were an independent store. The guy at the shop near Publix said he would include a charger and a hard case for the same price as others were quoting for the glasses only.

Mick.

That's a good point actually :guilty:
I bought a watch from the Fossil store in City Walk and was unable to get the 10% discount with it being an independant store.

Odd - I've received the discount at both US stores on many occasions. When we were there in May, the guy almost got me to buy the Thumps based on the fact that I could get the discount. Our friend who was with us (and who is also an AP holder) bought a pair of A-Wires and got the discount. How recently did you visit?

Well, we visited in Feb 2005 and visited 'Fossil' but did get the impression that it might all depend on which staff member you spoke to....

The discount doesnt apply until you actually get inside the parks, so Fossil/Quiet Flight etc we would not get the 10%.

Should always get discount at the Oakley stores inside the park though, I certainly did in March.
Even got discounts on 'peanut brittle' from a sweet shop.

To be honest on a couple of occassions I had forgotten about the 10% and it was only the store assistants who reminded me, the majority of times they seem to encourage it.
I know it's a general thing in the US, but although I really like the Quiet Flight store, you can tell the staff are on commission as they do seem to try and be a bit over-pushy , you normally get pounced on as soon as you walk in the door, one of them actually followed me around so much last time I had to tell her to back off etc (in a friendly way of course)..guess it's a bit like tipping at the restaurants , the staff need the extra cash.

Yes, it's true that the AP discount only applies to stores inside the park, plus selected stores at CityWalk. However, we've also managed to get a discount at Quiet Flight by explaining that we can get sunglasses cheaper inside the park. On each occasion they've claimed that the park store prices are higher to start with (which isn't true), but when challenged they back down and are happy to give the discount if they think you are going to walk away.

oh nice one mate - never considered that, worth thinking about.
Look forward to the challenge maybe this august.

Also, like someone said, you just need to know how much they are supposed to be before going into the store - also may be worth angling for a case if discount isn't forthcoming

Does anyone know if you get the AAA discount in any of the stores that sell Oakleys at Universal (and on the Oakley sunglasses)?
