Hi,

Expert advice needed. I was surfing around on ebay today and noticed that there are some really good deals on buying vacation homes and timeshares due to the economy. There was one for a bienneal summer week at Oak Plantation Resort through eMidsouth. The bidding was around $99. There were closing cost and annual dues. The total amount if winning the bid would be just shy of $1000. It was a deeded 2 bedroom villa. Question: If I want to go for a week ever other year for that exact week in June, this seems like a really good deal. I am I missing anything in the fine print? Does anyone have any experience with this property?

Thanks for your expert help.

don't buy any Orlando timeshares - they have higher fees and lower trade value (RCI or II) than other florida timeshares.

go find something near your home if you can. Something that allows you to use their facitilites when you are NOT staying there. (nice benefit)

you find other places generally cheaper and better value for trades.

for a beach week - you can trade this for II - get your trade plus another week (ac).

there are lots of timeshares out there right now for free. People have lost their jobs and they don't want to pay the fees.
