We booked today for our first trip home to our home resort of okw. When booking ms says do you want to be near the hospitality house I said it doesn't matter but ms says I have a 1 bdr available near the hospitality house and then proceeds to tell me how many points it would be I was glad I said yes as it was the same Amt of points We've never stayed there so I'm curious which bldgs that might be.

Most of the time they assume you would want to be near the hospitality house because it is close to check-in and the main pool. I like all areas except for Turtle Pond, but I know there are some on this board who don't care for the HH category at all. I guess it all depends on your preferences. Someone will need to chime in here, but I'm pretty sure the majority of HH buildings are in the teens (ex. buildings 15-16-17 etc)

the building are 11-14 and 23-26

the newest building 62-63-64 are not part of the HH - despite being across the street. these are the only ones with elevators.

have a great time!

OP, Hos. House is a category booking. When you get your confirmation it will say Hos. House on it. Back before they did this you could request HH, but not guarantee it as it was just a request. Now it's a specific category. I had to waitlist for one of my nights for my January trip as the first night was not available. It did open up later. Generally owners get this perk before the 7 month window opens. I lucked out at the 7 month window.

For your first stay at OKW the HH area is probably the best. Especially, if you have children. The boat ride to DTD is a short walk. You will have a great time!

We were in Buliding 23 earlier this month and the location was fabulous (it was guaranteed HH).

We stayed in a few different areas and prefer Turtle Pond to the others.

There are some buildings, the older ones and some near HH that only have access to the bathroom through the master bedroom. Whereas, other units have a separate bathroom entrance instead of having to disturb the privacy of the bedroom. Just food for thought..

We prefer anything but HH location. Our last few trips have been at South Point. Before that Turtle Pond. We're hoping for Miller's Road in January.

Great I knew you guys could help. Thanks.

I stayed in building room 2333 (dedicated third floor 2 bedroom) and it was not refurbished yet. Great location (first bus stop in, short walk to main pool, boat, restaurants and last bus stop out) and fantastic view (pond and water foutain). And the decor was fine....the blankets were very very, thin, though. Not what we are used to in a hotel. It was probably my only gripe.

Why do you not like HH area?
We are planning a trip and debating whether to request HH or not. We stayed at Turtle Pond once and loved it, but will be going to Downtown Disney a lot on the boat and wonder if we would be better being closer.
We do not care about the slide at the big pool--a quiet pool is as good as the main one.

wow what a great decision
the hospitality house is at the middle of everything
transportation pool games food boat ride

it will make your stay more enjoyable maybe not as relaxing but thats because you ll be having tooo much fun

the reason I did not like it - especially 11-14 - too close to HH and people parking in your area. when the HH runs out of parking places - do people wait no they park in the villa section - building 11-14.

plus since half of these people (if not more) seem to be busy with the stuff that DVC gives them - they are not paying as much attention to what in front of them. so crossing that street can be dangerous. and you have to cross the street - the buses are at HH.

the reason for not liking 23-26 is the closest pool is at HH - although it is definitely safer - they get a cross walk.

now why DVC does not give 11-14 a cross walk - just don't understand.

like both south pointe and miller road much better. the pool and bus stop are right there and crossing those roads are not that dangerous.

We always drive, so we have a car. Those villas in the near HH area usually have limited parking because everyone trying to get to the HH to check in, shop, dine, swim, is parking in their spaces. I prefer the quieter locations with plenty of parking. The villas right at the Peninsular Road bus stop (not 27-29) might be okay, but we like South Point or Turtle Pond better.

It's a quick walk from all the other areas to the HH area. Or you can hop any bus and get there.

Thank you for your replies to my questions. I will be calling tomorrow and requesting Turtle Pond again.
There will be a BWV standard available for someone else.

We will be arriving on 1/14 for our first stay at OKW since adding on points there. At booking time they offered us a 2 bdrm in the HH area so we took it, we'll have our two younger boys with us 18 and 20 years old and my daughter,24 and her friend arriving mid stay. I thought that area might be ok this stay thinking they would be coming and going alot, they go to DTD every night usually. Are all the HH buildings refurbed yet, not that it matters, just curious.

We love bldgs 23-26 but couldn't get HH for this coming trip in April so I've requested 27-29. Our last trip, we were in 26 right next to the road and wasn't bothered by bus noise. Really liked being right next to the bus stop.

I don't want to be remote as we won't have a car and will be walking to HH area often for pool, food/drinks and boat to DD. Any other suggestions for non-HH category but near HH? PP mentioned newer bldgs 62-64 have elevators - any other plusses or minuses?
