O.J. Simpson verdict: 10 Years Later

I was in 5th grade when the verdict aired and it was during school hours. I remember they took us out of class and set up televisions throughout the school so all the students could watch the verdict announced.
And I still disagree with the verdict.

That trial featured perhaps the worst, bumbling, inept prosecution strategy and the most pandering, sleazy, and inciteful defense ever heard in a courtroom. Watching a court of law taken over by the media and a clueless judge that looked like he was auditioning for a television show was indeed like watching a car wreck. Not exactly the United State's finest legal hour!

I remember Dana Carvey's stand up sketch about the trial. lol

I remember him mocking that whole "he was framed!" idea. He was like "We're framing OJ, you in??" "Framing OJ!!!!" "We're going to frame O.J.!!!!!!!"
"Mr. President would you like to frame OJ?" " Frame OJ?? Well I sure liked those Naked Gun movies, but you're right. I'll have the CIA and FBI at your disposal because we have GOT to get that son of a ...............!!!" lol :rotfl2:

When I heard the verdict, I was having a driving lesson (I was 16) and the instructor and I were listening to it on the car radio. I can't believe it's been 10 years!

I think he was guilty but also understand both sides of the racial divide. In Tampa, Latinos like myself have long been tagged with the corruption tag, in many cases earned. But I work in an Anglo world, and one gets tired of seeing some of the presumptions being unconsciously applied, and thr double standards. When some Latinos were facing trial, I found myself rooting for them due to hearing every day how corrupt we were

You know, I remember it happening, but I was young and uninterested.. I'd love to be able to get the entire thing (from beginning to end) on a DVD box set or something so I could see it all myself and see how I feel!

I'm sure I could go on www.crimelibrary.com and do some research though.

Can't believe it's been 10yrs!

:rotfl: I can't imagine the torture of watching that footage beginning to end, wonder how many hours of the trial are in the film vaults. It was boring enough on court TV the first time around.
