Nylon backpack

Am getting the kids little nylon cinch sacks to carry a few things in the park with. Can you iron a design on these, if you put something over the transfer, like a towel, so you do not melt the material. Has anyone pit a transfer on nylon?

I am pretty much positive that if you tried to iron onto nylon it would indeed melt the fabric. In order to get the transfer to transfer high heat is needed so that the plastic on the transfer will met onto the shirt. A towel wouldn't allow enough heat through. Many people have been using canvas bags, perhaps try that instead?

This is an older thread but I was wondering if anyone has tried this? I was thinking of using expressions printable vinyl...

I have done it and it is possible but you have to be VERY careful not to let the iron come into contact with any unprotected part that the paper does not cover so you really have to watch the entire surface, not just the area where you are working. The transfers bond a lot quicker than they do on cotton fabrics so less time and also a little less heat with the iron is key. Try see if you can get some scraps or offcuts of a similar fabric to test it on. I have managed fine with most of mine but did have an accident with one item a couple of years ago when the back end of the iron connected ever so briefly with a corner of the fabric and it literally seemed to just vaporize before my eyes Seriously, one moment it was all there and a split second later there was just a glob of gunk on the ironing board!

Thanks! I did it and had no issues- super cute! I just put some parchment just to shield the fabric.
