Here is a cute story about our trip to WDW last Christmas.
It was our Epcot day, lines were long in the afternoon so we took Owen over to the Outpost to get his face painted. Claudia being the child (opps I mean great mother) she is, wanted her's done as well. Of course everyone was convinced that Daddy should have something cool painted on his face too, everyone that is except Daddy (what a schmuck). I left the outpost with my new friends Tinkerbell and The Chinese Tiger, both very proud of themselves, one looking a little more ridiculous than the other.
The first stop was Japan and Myuki the candy maker. Owen got close to the front of the crowd and was fascinated, when she got a look at Owen's painted face her eyes lit up. Ohhhhh very pretty tiger, I make special candy for you (Claudia does a great impression, something you may want to request after a couple of chocolate martinis on the cruise). Owen walked away very happy with his tiger candy.
Next to Canada where we had pictures taken with Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear, who made a big production about being afraid of the tiger. Owen enjoyed that as well. I guess what I am getting at is having your child's face painted is well worth it. Your wife's however maybe a different story.
Claudia and I decided we would go back to Epcot that evening and catch the fireworks so we went back to the resort and dropped off my Mom, Dad and Owen. The perfect opportunity I thought for Claudia to wash her face, but oh no, I think it was just to get under my skin. Off to Epcot we go.
I love to walk around world showcase at night, it is one of my favorite things to do at WDW. We headed to Mexico to get Tink a margarita and then to Germany to get a beer for me. When we got to Germany I made a run to the restroom while Tink went to get me a beer. While I was gone I missed all of the fun, the very young looking guy working at the beer stand did not believe Claudia was of age. He asked her for ID, and all she had was her key to the world card, she said but Im 33 years old. He said, Zen vhy you have your face painted?. She said, I got it done with my son earlier today to which he responded, You have a son !?. Again you really need Claudia to do her impression to get the full effect. There were two girls working there as well who stuck up for Claudia and she was paying for my beer when I returned. She said to me laughing This mean little boy was not going to sell me a beer, he thought I was to young I said He looks like he is only about 16 himself. Claudia the two girls and I had a good laugh and he muttered something in German and took off red faced. As we walked away I noticed my beer was leaking from the finely crafted plastic stein, we went back and the girls gave me another and poured the leaky on in a paper cup. Score, two beer for the price of one.
So I guess it is worth it to have your wifes face painted as well. Maybe next time Daddy will do it as well.
