Good morning~been at work since 5 am (again)....& this is the 1st time i've had a chance to check in.....

Nan - i am SOOOOO sorry about your puppy - that's just always so hard!!!:grouphug:

I envy you on this cruise...have always wanted to do this one....but can't take Ryan out of school - it's just not allowed - so hoping to take it another year..

Yes Aisling - we WOULD have FUN shopping for sure!!! i'll post prom pics next sunday (5/18)

Tell us about Nova Scotia. I've read that winters are long and the coastline is rocky and gorgeous, like Ireland, but without all the green.

The climate here is very much the same as the northeastern US, maybe a little warmer in the winter. We stick off of Canada just enough that a lot of times the jet stream runs up the inside of us along the Bay of Fundy giving us a little warmer air. A fairly cold day for us in the winter would be about -10C or 14F, in the summer a hot day would be 32C or 90F. However the really cold and hot days come and go quickly.

We don't get nearly enough snow days for DW who is a teacher. :teacher:

I have some photos at home of some of the beaches near our home, I will stick those up later.

Here are a few pictures from around home.

This is Cape Lahave Island, a government owned island just off the coast. Easily accessible by boat, usually deserted.

Me on the rocks at Carters Beach. Hard to tell in this picture but it is a beautiful white sand beach with lots of sand dollars.

Owen and I at Crescent Beach not far from our house. You can drive your car on this beach (2-3 miles long)

Claudia in the back yard after a freak snow storm last Easter.

Just to prove that it does get hot here, this is Owen in our backyard.

This is my favorite picture, Claudia and Owen a few years ago at Ross Farm a working farm museum.

Wow I think I'd love it there for a visit. And you have a GORGEOUS wife and son! Thanks for posting. I especially loved seeing Claudia sitting by the fire, surrounded by snow. You seem to be out-doorsy folks!:thumbsup2

i LOVE the photos....but esp the one of you & Owen strolling the beach....holding hands....precious!!!!

You two live in a gorgeous area!

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures~

I also agree with the ladies, you have a beautiful family.

Thanks for the comments on the photos, we love living here.

Tig sorry about your flyers last night, Malkin was on fire (Timonen probally would have made the difference). Hopefully home ice will help.

I have faith in my Flyers and look forward to tomorrow night~

Malkin, Crosby and Fleury played a great game.

Hubby asked if I want to go out tonight,

I might suggest we go see Ironman and get some sushi :scratchin

I think I might go for a classic conservative look. My hairstyle is slightly different and I probably won't wear the shades (that would just be tacky). :rotfl:

Now all I need is a matching dress for Teacherbell. :rotfl2:

Artman attire update: The Gold Lame suit doesn't fit him anymore (too many Mickey bars at Christmas:rotfl: ) so we had to go suit shopping. We ordered a gray suit with a white shirt and a black shirt to mix and match(Think George Clooney):cloud9:
I'm still dressless, shoeless, and now wondering about my hair.

Also wondering how you decide where to go for New Years?

Happy Mother's Day to all.

That's so cute...my hubby is outside picking up dog crap right now

Happy Mother's Day Ladies!

Teacherbell, you and Aisling are soooo much alike it's cute~

I know the girls splurged on having their hair done on the ship for Christmas, Nan and Aisling both had theirs put up.

The navigators will tell you what and who is gonna be where for the festivities, I wonder if there are and New Years Cruise navigators online somewhere? :scratchin

OMG I just looked and found last year's New Years Navigator. My brain hurts just looking at it. How in the world do you ever filter through all that information and decide what you are going to do?
And the excursions! My God! The excursions! I don't know if I have the brain capacity to organize this trip. I think I'll sit back with a martini and let Artman do the leg work. Finding a dress will be my job:lmao:

That way if the trip is a disaster I can blame him:laughing:

It really helps me by being able to see all that ahead of time~

Can you post a link to the navigators here?

I find that reading the guidebooks helps me a ton! Do you have a Passporter Cruise guide? Birnbaum's is good but I found passporter to be more thorough~ Some here like the Unofficial guide, I don't - not enough pictures in it for my liking ;)

No fair, now Artman is going to be just a plain ole handsome dude in an elegant suit like the rest of our men instead of the Disco King!!

Claudia, right now I'm no where near able to wear these dresses, but I'm working on it, and if I succeed (lost 8 lbs more lbs!!!), I'm really thinking of something like this. I don't think I'm going floor-length, and these are dressy enough for New Year's Eve. I have them up as my desktop wall paper to inspire me. I have 7 months to make it.

About where to be when the clock strikes midnight, that's going to be hard to choose!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommas!

I don't have a dog, so I'm thinking of getting some dog crap so that Mel can pick it up for me!:lovestruc

I LOVE that dress!!!!!
I think I'm going to look around in Halifax (we live an hour away) at some of the prom dresses that are less cinderella and more like the one you show here. Then when they come on sale after prom season, I'll buy one. I hope.
Artman takes offense to me calling them Prom dresses...cause I ain't no spring chicken, but hey, a girl has to dream. I'm on the Disney Diet too. I still weigh the same though. I think the peanut m&m's may be holding me back.:rolleyes1

BTW He wants everyone to know he is now scooping the kitty litter because we don't have a dog, but he doesn't want to be outdone by all those other faithful husbands.

Hi Tigger, here is the address to the New Years Navigator. It's for 06, but I thought it might be helpful.
We have ordered the new passportes guide, but it hasn't come yet.
The planning is a bit scarry at times, but it really is a lot of fun. We are getting so excited and its still 7+ months away.

Thank you for the link!

The first page of the New Years eve page says there are events in the main atrium (lobby), Studio Sea (the family club), the Promenade and Rockin Bar D (the adult clubs)

Regarding the Prom dress...

Artman doesn't realize he has one of the youngest wives in the group :)

No offense ladies, you are all beautiful!

I just see that Artman is my age and presume teacherbell is even younger~

Any idea when your passporter is due out to you?

Our passporter is supposed to be shipped this Thursday. I know Artie is waiting as patiently as possible to get his hands on it.

Women are only ever as old as they feel. I'm planning on remaining at 25. It had such a nice ring to it a few years back, I decided to keep it.

I always favored 18 ;)

I can account for every Lady you are cruising with, and almost every man...you have a Fabulous crew cruising with you guys, these people know how to have fun~

eta: Even at 25 I think the eldest child is still younger~right Louise?
