Hello Matey's - sounds like everyone has been busy - which is good as it helps pass the time till cruise. I'm also glad to see tigger hanging in with us - it means alot since you have been here since the wayyyyy beginning of the first thread.

I got excursion information from Robin "ohioworkingmom" so updating the site tonight.

Brother was doing good until yesterday. Kid was stubborn and tried to pull his pants up by himself after using restroom (apparently he has done it by himself but with someone in the bathroom with him) and he fell - right on his injured right leg (stump). He had a flashback of being in Iraq as they were dragging him out of the bathroom - very similar to the way he was pulled out of the vehicle after the explosion.

BUT the good news is no damage other than bruising and more pain. I talk to him daily and he sounded alot less doped up today and quite well. We talked for 45 minutes and that is the longest we've chatted on the phone for quite awhile. One day at a time is what I say.

I can't imagine but he's just got to take it easy. It's only been a month but he's ahead of recovery schedule by two weeks - before the incident so I know he is getting anxious. We are still to go up to see him October 14th - 19th and are taking the kids. He is very close to Sydney and I know he is very excited to see her. He said that after the explosion went off and he looked down at his leg he thought for a split second about dying but then he thought about Sydney and that helped him.

I think he just needs to be careful because at least one of us kids has the clumsy gene and who knows how much he got of it. I have two full legs and literally fall once a month for no good reason. I even fell at Walter Reed and bruised my knee and ankle - I'm quite clumsy...:)

Far all you folks East of me (St. Louis) don't worry as fall is coming your way very soon. Today was beautiful and was a high of around 60ish - I love this weather. It's good apple and pumpkin picking weather.

Congrats Nan on Wilson's win (DQ'd or not)....

St Francis won their 3rd FB game in a row:woohoo: - another complete shut out over Pebble Beach's "Robert Louis Stevenson" school with a final score of 46-0:woohoo: this next weekend is the 'bye' week so we're off to Disneyland Friday afternoon!!!

Had a great Creative Memories event on Saturday AND even completed 18 pages of the school's album on the Italy trip....

Colleen - i think that's a great idea of linking our reservations to Rus & Chel's...and then when Rus can book (Oct 8th or whatever date it is); he can book him AND Ryan together for those diving excursions....that should work i would think???

So far, Ryan is booked on the "Wild Side" teen event at Castaway Cay; i have a Cabana massage (that Chel will book too) AND both Ryan & I are booked for CC parasailing....

have a great Monday!!! BBL
Did Ryan get his dive card yet?

Anjelica, I am sorry to hear about your brother falling. Hopefully next time he will let someone help him. Til he gets all his coordination back... He must know that he will be independent again in the future, but right now he needs to let others help him. Enjoy your trip to see him. I am sure your kids miss him just as much as he misses them.

As for Santa, Brian gets gifts from Santa, as do I, as does my mom, dad, gram and aunt (mom's sister), my sister, her dh, and on and on. Its a way of life in our family!

Tigg, so now you get WHY I dont like her, and why she doesnt like me.. lol.. We are extremely OPPOSITE. I am more like what Brian's childhood was like. When they met, I think he liked the fact that she was SOOOO different.. and when you are in your early 20s.. I guess different is exciting. I just dont think he thought long term how their differences would play out, and she is VERY strong willed. I also do not like her because she has physically assaulted me and on several occassions told me that I am nothing, a nobody, I dont exist... She leaves a lot to be desired.. ya know.

Brian FINALLY settled the Dec schedule w/her yesterday. I am sooo excited. It means we have them from their ACTUAL bday this year through that weekend (their Bday falls on a Friday this year) so we can do their bday pizza party w/my family and Brian's parents are making the trip for that. Then we have them again for our xmas weekend w/them.

I love the jokes people.. keep them coming!!

Y'all ain't getting rid-o-me that easy!

:teeth:

Marla...I really do miss the days of Drum Corps. The traveling, the comps, the practices, the shows. My favorite part of course were the shows and all the different places we went ::yes:: Congratulations to your DD and friends on their placement in the last comp.

Anjelica, your Bro sounds like a great guy! He also sounds very determined and independant. :thumbsup2

Kelly. Oh, I get her alright. It's unfortunate in my experience (with many many friends) that ex wives and ex husbands have a hard time being happy when the ex is happy. It's a shame that "Misery loves company" is such a true statement. I am very happy for Brian that he's got you on his side.

My girlfriend Lori could use someone like Brian. She lets her ex bring her down (he left her almost five years ago.) Sometimes I feel like her therapist when she asks me for ways she could bring her own spirits back up. I am glad she at least has me. This is the same girl I am helping go to Disney World next month. I am praying for her that Disney lifts her spirits the way it lifts mine.

Tigg, yes, she is an unhappy person, and will not be happy, unless those around her are also unhappy. Very odd.

Sorry to hear about your friend. Maybe get her a makeover somehow. Does she dress SUPER nice?? could you call What not to wear??? They always seem to be working on people's self esteem and what not. Give her a new perspective on life.. I LOVE that show!! I always end up crying, unless the person is super rude/annoying. Trying to think of other spirit lifting ideas. Disney is a way I like to treat my depression!! lol.. as we all know.

She is lucky to have a friend like you!

Anyone else that this past weekend they closed the Adventurer's Club for good?? I am very bummed, and will miss that place greatly!

Checking in, my battery is dying and I'm in the car. BBL!

Yeah..I've been reading some stories about the last weekend. Jim Hill Media has the story and The Magic in Pixels forum has some pretty good photos~Mom made a point to get one last visit in this past August.~

I like the idea of contacting what not to wear, but I think sending Lori to Disney in the proper fashion will do more for her demeanor. She's not that great a dresser, but IMHO think it's cause she does more for her girls than herself. I've already mentioned shopping for herself as a good pick me up. I've also mentioned buying flowers every now and then - just because. I've even told her she has a habit of dwelling on the negative and that she needs to find the small things around her that make her happy and talk more about that stuff. ~She's a work in progress. I can be downright honest to a fault and I warn her of this every time we talk. She takes it in and is serious about listening to me to make herself better, no matter what.~

Yeah, I took 115 pictures of Pleasure Island & the Adventurers Club. I believe 100 of them were of the Club alone. :sad1:

I love me some Adventurers Club:flower3:

I just went to the Jim Hill Site. It was all I could do to keep from crying.

Just booked onto this cruise a couple of days ago with my girlfriend and her family.

My girlfriend, Ally, has been on the Disney cruise at least a dozen times, including at least a couple NYE cruises in the past. I've been on a Carnival cruise and a Royal Caribbean cruise, but this will be my first time experiencing the Disney magic at sea.

Ally and I are both Disney Cast Members - I'm a campus representative for the College Program and she works seasonally at the Magic Kingdom. We met on the College Program back in January. Both of us have commented on how we are at that most awkward age of 20, when we are far too old for any of the teen stuff, and not old enough to drink. I'm SURE we will find lots of fun things to do, though!

Hi Jeff and Ally!

Woo hoo we have CMs with us!!!!!!!!

Jeff, are you from the Cortland/Marathon area? My nephew graduated from Ithaca College and is now at SUNY Cortland for his Masters in Physical Education.

My son Chad who'll be 23 when we cruise, was 20 on our last cruise, and he had a BALL with the college age cruisers he met at the first night Meet & Greet.

We also have a friend, Nicolette, who's a CM, 23 years old, now working at The Great Movie Ride doing the bandit roles.

So nice to "meet" you! I hope you post often, this is a fun group here!

Did Ryan get his dive card yet?
no...he's going to have to do a crash course once FB is over, but both Gilroy Scuba & Aqua Safari's have a 4-wk program he can do....did you see my email that DCL called me today and they went ahead & scheduled you both for the dive excursion in Cozumel & in Grand Cayman....we can cancel one if you weren't planning to do both....

I'm from the Rochester area... still not too far away from here in Ithaca. Since there isn't a college program presentation here at IC, we're recruiting students to go to the presentation at SUNY Cortland on October 13th, so I'll be there soon.

Funny what a small world it is! (oh man, i've said that WAY too many times since I started working at WDW...)

Welcome aboard Jeff, Ally, and her family :)

Thank you very much for your warm welcome!

We're hoping that another room for 4 pops up sometime within the next couple weeks so that Ally's cousin can come along too. Right now we have one room for 4 and one room for 3.

Good luck - keep 'stalking' the DCL website as final payments are due real soon something might pop up then

Sorry to all my old BFFs, I have 2 new BFFs, Jeff and Ally! I LOVE CMs!!!

Don't worry, we're friendly! Disney smiles and all!

much banter is between us old friends, I'm sure you realize that huh ;)

Glad you guys are aboard. Look forward to sharing time together :thumbsup2
